So I come here each year in February and stay 3 weeks......I love Majestic I really do such a nice vibe.......But this time, I have seen a lot of change even from last April 2024.....the shows were exactly the same as last year, the food was not the greatest especially...

So I come here each year in February and stay 3 weeks......I love Majestic I really do such a nice vibe.......But this time, I have seen a lot of change even from last April 2024.....the shows were exactly the same as last year, the food was not the greatest especially at the seafood restaurant which we look forward to for dinner, lobster horrible not cooked raw..... this is surprising and even at le gourmet, service excellent food not good....I heard there are new cooks and if this is true....it's not good. also, I felt that the spring breakers are a bit much, and a little young for club side, and you cant get near the bar or room service when they are around. this is a problem for me since I vacation to get away from them. also a young man was pounding his fists on my door screaming to open it he was very drunk...couldnt speak he was so drunk. this is not good. either put them in another section or limit there liquor....I come here to relax and enjoy not deal with drunk youngsters, if I wanted that I would stay at the RIU......which I would never but you get the point.

Hi….we stayed at Majestic Colonial the week of Feb. 21 - 28th, Club side. A lovely room on the 4th floor near the chapel. Check in was reasonable…. We waited for our butler to take us to our assigned room with another couple. David was our assigned butler. Back story….being really self sufficient travellers, I wasn’t all too keen on having a butler. We were introduced to David and he asked us to download the app that we could keep in touch with each other. I declined, “I’m on vacation and don’t want to be tied to my phone”. Not a problem. David escorted us to our room and asked what he could do for us. Our 18th wedding anniversary was the 22nd and we would like to have our anniversary supper at the Gourmet Restaurant. I was doubtful that we would be able to book reservations the following day as the hotel was full capacity. Another request we posed to David was an exchange of in-room liquor, not a fan of what was already stocked. No pressure, David, if you can, grateful….if you can’t….no worries. David came through on both accounts….on our anniversary he managed to decorate our room, door signage, balloons, champagne and small gifts. I knew butlers do this but did not expect the pageantry. No one had done this for us before. Happy 💕! David managed to find us on the resort and check in on us….” How’s your stay?” Any problems? A couple minor issues he took care of IMMEDIATELY! David was professional, kind and informative, ( I ask the most unusual questions, if you don’t ask…how are you gonna know???? ). I’d recommend David 100%. Thank you, David! We won’t be forgetting you!!!!!! We had a lovely Vacay at Majestic Colonial. The food was amazing, the beach was beautiful, drinks plentiful, pool bars a fun place to hang out at. Best tip for visitors to Majestic Club side is to go to the al a carte Gourmet restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The service is top notch, not many people take advantage of this luxury spot. The salmon toast in the morning is soooo good. The burger at lunch time is the best we ever had. Now we are back to snow, we long to be back there.

18th year to DR, 9th year at the Colonial, it has really become our home. During check in at the Club area, nothing more welcoming than to see our 3rd year Butler Jacob's smiling face . Next morning a hug from Marasol in the main buffet made our welcome complete....

Next morning a hug from Marasol in the main buffet made our welcome complete. The staff and grounds are what really make the Colonial special. Also, a big hello to our friend Maritina in La Gourmet who we have known for years. We usually treat ourselves to a couple of massages this year being no different, we ask for Rosa and her partner and always leave refreshed. For those going or considering the Colonial, be a friend and tip well, everyone here is making a big effort to make your visit the best ever. ! Almost forgot, we plan to be there on Valentine's day, ahead of spring breakers and don't miss the fantastic dinner celebration at the buffet

This was our second vacation at the Majestic Colonial and we loved it just as much as we did the first time. The staff is always friendly and accomodating. A special shout out to Christina from the entertainment team, she is a gem! The facilities are well maintained and even though the resort was fully booked it never felt crowded. There are plenty of food and bar options and the beach is fantastic. We also felt that the food was better now than it was 2 years ago when we first visited. We can't wait to return!

Resort property is beautifully kept up, the staff are friendly and attentive. March break crowd was lively but respectful we met some very nice kids (we are in our 60's). We stayed in colonial club section swim out room, would do this again. 2 thumbs up to the bartender July, his professional demeanor and fun loving attitude was entertaining, he knows his drinks. The food was very good, enjoyed the beach buffet for breakfast and the lunch bbq. We dined at the seafood food and steak house at night. The Japanese restaurant was entertaining and delicious. We had breakfast and a delicious meal at the gourmet club restaurant under the stairs. A shout out to Elpidio (manager) his staff and his hard work are recognized and appreciated. After check-in we were met by our Butler Edith Edwards and she helped us slip into a nice relaxing week. Ediths excellent knowledge and experience of the resort helped us navigate the week with good food choices and dining times that were greatly appreciated. At her suggesting we took a relaxing message and enjoyed the spa amenities. After only a week we consider Edith a friend, she took very good care of us, making us feel like we were her only guests.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave the staff are attentive and helpful. We took a taxi from Punta Cana Airport to the hotel, it was about 20 minutes with no traffic. The resort is gated and security is taken seriously. We were immediately met with a grand entrance and friendly welcoming staff. We were early for check in but the bellhops stored our bags safety while we started the check in process. The man at the counter was helpful, check in was a breeze, and we were allowed to check in early. We had VIP club member status that included a dedicated concierge to help us with anything we may need. Jacob was friendly and courteous. He has many other people he works with so we didn't ask for too much assistance. He did help us get reservations to a couple of the restaurants and answered any questions we had. He walked us to the room and told us a little about where everything was along with a map we were provided. We had a beautiful room in the adult section of the Majestic Colonial that had its own private pool and swim up bar. The bartenders were friendly, inviting, and make exceptional drinks. Try the Dirty Beer shot 🥃 you will not be disappointed!! We could see the beach and the location was perfect. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful and well cared for. Lush tropical scenery. It is apparent that they put tons of attention to detail into the property. Many Taino statues throughout as well which was lovely to see. The room had a king bed, Jacuzzi tub and a balcony. Separate shower and toilet are. Although the toilet space was a bit awkward and small. The shower was huge and the water was perfect. The mini bar was well stocked. The only issue with the room was the balcony door that doesn't have a handle from the outside in. Other than that it was great! The pool: Cleaned and well cared for daily. Great for relaxing or having drinks to enjoy the beautiful Ambiance and weather of DR. Downside: pools close early, by 6 pm. It would be great if they stayed open a little later. If you go on an excursion you can't enjoy the pool area when you return. The Beach: Absolutely gorgeous!!!! I have read other reviews that people complain about seaweed, this is my take, it's a beach seaweed is normal. I am not sure what people are thinking when they complain about normal things. In any event the staff clean daily. The beach is large and their is a lot of seating, but it can be hard to get a seat/cabana bed later than 8-9 am. I did get confused with the separation of a couple of bars that were not for the Colonial Club, but staff were helpful. Yes there are vendors that sell stuff but if you have gone to any island or anywhere you need to know how to not get sucked into spending and spending more than you should. The Bars: we encountered great staff at every bar. Pretty much All staff spoke very good English despite DR being a Spanish speaking country ( we also speak fluent Spanish). They pay extra attention to details for tourist. The drinks were fantastic at every single bar. Hours of service for bars is after 10 am. The Ambiance and Entertainment: We arrived on Dominican night and there was some dancers putting on a show. It was a little disappointing that the show was not representing of the cultural music and dances that make DR so fantastic. We expected to hear bachata and merengue amongst other traditional music and were disappointed because it wasn't really played except for some random music here and there. Again, they do cater to tourist but it takes away from the experience of DR when you hear typical US music instead of the cultural music and dances. This was probably one of the biggest disappointments of the experience. If you don't show the culture the people will never understand the beauty. They do have different nightly shows which is nice. But again Dominican Night is only once in the week. We were hoping for more traditional cultural activities. The shows are held at the outdoor theater hall. There are two pool tables but the balls are all messed up and the sticks need to be replaced and there is no chalk. Hard to play pool like that so we gave up. There is a small casino, a sports bar we did not get to go too, and a pizza spot but we weren't sure if that was for our resort or not. There are three Majestic resorts. The nightclub is small and again in tune with disappointment, the music was lacking and the DJ refused to play and Bachata or Merengue despite it being requested. Some Bad Bunny, a couple reggaeton songs and the rest were older rap songs and pop. Not too fun...so we left. It was the few sections with music. YMCA, Macarena, and songs like that over and over. There isn't a whole lot of resort activities in the evening. Colonial Rd. Had vendors one night and it was nice, things are overpriced for sure and you have to know how to haggle. And don't let vendors give you anything for "free". This road has shops and other stores/pharmacy on it during the day as well. Excursions could be directly booked through the resort. We did the Adventure Buggie/Cenote/and Taino demonstration show. The entire experience was great. Yes, you see kids asking for money, but DR is not a begging country. There is poverty like anywhere else in some areas but the Island is doing well economically. The people and Culture are beautiful. Tourist are appreciated and mostly respected. The Food: was some of the best I have had on a resort. They had a huge variety of different foods and you can taste the organic flavor of fruits, veggies, and meats. Including the natural juice and coffee. They had some typical Dominican dishes which was nice to see, definitely try mango ( mashed plantains) as it is a delicious staple of the island. Dominican night offered a lot of typical Dominican cuisine. Food is served at certain times. Not too many snack options outside of those windows unless you go to one of the club lounges that have some snacks there. The Japanese restaurant was good and the steakhouse was also good but gets a wait in the evening. This building changes and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Splits...to a couple different restaurants at night There is a French restaurant we did not get to try. This and the Japanese place require evening attire. Over all we had a 9 out of 10 experience because of some of the things I mentioned mostly the lack of cultural representation. But the resort is absolutely worth it and we loved it so much. We cannot wait to be back and definitely will be back. Absolutely fantastic place in DR to visit! Thank you Majestic for the great experience. Traveled March 6th through March 10th.

That said we enjoyed the resort immensely. All staff members were kind, helpful and went out of their way. A few shout outs to Tommy, Fidel and Luz Mari. I’m so sorry I don’t recall everyone’s names but waiters, waitresses, cleaning staff, animators, bar tenders: all were exceptional. Restaurants were all good with options for all tastes. We enjoyed Dominican food everyday: grilled fish, rice and beans, plantain, local fruit were all delicious. The beach is exceptional: wide, white sand and clear water warm enough to swim in in March. The resort is beautifully manicured with lots of palm trees and exotic plants everywhere. The entertainment was exceptional as well. More merengue music please! The only thing that might prevent me from returning is that run down bathroom, I hope renovations are part of this resort’s plans soon!!

David was our butler for the third time and he made sure all of our requests were looked after promptly. Stopped by to visit us daily to and spend some time talking with us. He has a newborn son so be sure to ask him to see pictures. We very much enjoyed Le Gourmet with Lepedio, Martina and Raphael. They treated us like family and couldn’t have been nicer. We had breakfast here most days and it is quiet and a good menu to select from. Pre and post dinner drinks at the lobby bar served by Christian or Welfri. Both top notch bartenders and when it was a big quiet they would help us with our Spanish. We spent most of our days at the pool on the adult side. Leandro and Minerva are incredibly friendly and make great drinks that go down far too easy. We found the beach buffet very good for lunch. Sit outside and enjoy the view. Steak house was good except for the ribs. Stick to the steak. If you get up in time the sunrise is spectacular. Great photo op.

My only complaint is that my boyfriend sliced his toe open pretty good on a chipped tile in the pool, definitely need to fix that. I’d definitely come back to the majestic resorts.

I just got back from a week at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana, and overall, it was a really nice and comfortable place to stay. My husband and I are seasoned travelers, so we have a bit of experience with resorts, and this one did not disappoint. The staff, for the most part, was friendly, with a few exceptions, but the great employees made up for the not-so-attentive ones. We stayed in the adults-only section with our personal concierge, Joseph, and he was absolutely amazing. He helped us with everything, from restaurant reservations to any room requests. He really made our stay more enjoyable. I would definitely return and highly recommend this resort. Please continue reading for more specifics on resorts. Beach: The beach was absolutely beautiful. There were plenty of chairs available, so we didn’t have to worry about waking up early to reserve spots, which I really appreciated since I’m not an early bird. We had access to a special section of the beach through the Club (adults-only section), and it was perfect. Fernando at the beach bar was always in a great mood, singing and making everyone feel welcome. Luisa, also at the beach bar, was fantastic as well. We spent most of our time on the beach, and there was hardly any seaweed. A couple of days had small amounts, but it didn’t interfere with our enjoyment. Gastronomy: The food was a bit hit or miss. Buffets: The buffet near the beach served breakfast until 11:30 am, which was great for us since we’re not early risers. However, the variety was lacking—it was the same food every day, and some dishes were dry and not very flavorful. The signage could have been clearer, too. • À la Carte Restaurants: Steakhouse ..The food was great Jacinto at the bar was wonderful, and we always made sure to sit where he was working. But the service could have been warmer; the waiters didn’t explain the menu or offer refills on drinks without us trying to get their attention. Seafood restaurant, though, was amazing. Julia was fantastic—she explained the menu, offered us drinks, and her whole team made sure we had a wonderful experience. We loved her service so much that we went back a second time and requested to sit in her section. Mexican restaurant was also a standout. They have a Dominican buffet that was absolutely delicious. By the time the main dish came, we were already full from the buffet, but it was so worth it. If you’re into trying local foods, this restaurant is a must-try! Japanese restaurant was fantastic as well. I really regret not catching the names of the cook and restaurant manager, as they were both so attentive and made the experience memorable. French restaurant was good, but it left a bit to be desired. The service from Giancarlo was excellent, but the appetizers and desserts were bland. My husband loved his main dish (salmon), and I enjoyed my shrimp. Dress codes: All restaurants except the French one had a casual dress code, so men could wear shorts. Entertainment: We were lucky to be there during Independence Day, and there was a lot of special entertainment for the occasion—live bands, karaoke, and festive vendors. It was a fun, lively atmosphere, especially at the courtyard. Lobby Bar: We spent a lot of time at the lobby bar, and the staff there was incredible. Fausto, Christian, and Cruz were absolutely fabulous. There was also a young lady who was lovely (unfortunately, I can’t remember her name), but she made us feel so welcome. It was a great place to relax and enjoy a drink. Cleanliness: While the public areas (lobby, bars, and lounges) were always clean and well-maintained, the rooms needed a bit of improvement. After room service, the room didn’t have that fresh, clean smell—more of a damp, dirty rag smell, which could have been from humidity. Also, when we ordered room service, the plates were left piled up by the trash in the hall for a few days. However, the public spaces were consistently clean, and I really appreciated that. Club Experience: The Club area (for club-level guests) was a nice retreat, offering snacks and drinks. It was a peaceful place to relax. The service there was great, and Gemelyn was especially kind. Conclusion: Despite a few areas that could use improvement—like the buffet and the cleanliness of the rooms—I would definitely return to Majestic Colonial Punta Cana. The beautiful beach, the great service, and the adults-only areas made it a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with good food, great staff, and a wonderful beach. There are three resorts in one we may try the other two next time Rooms The rooms were nice and spacious, with a balcony that offered a great view. The minibar was well-stocked with snacks like chips and cookies, which was a nice touch. I liked that there was a separate shower and toilet area, though the toilet room was quite small. If you’re a bigger person, it might be a bit tight, and you could find yourself touching the walls. The sinks were a bit messy, though, as the design didn’t quite work—water splashed around a lot. Despite that, we really enjoyed the jacuzzi, which was a great way to unwind after a day at the beach.

We had 7 days of relaxation at the Majestic Colonial and have no complaints of any significance. The last two days the resort was inundated with college aged spring breakers. The food, drinks and resort are a 5 of 5 stars for me and the weather could not have been better.

This was our second time going to this resort. The resort was very clean, including the rooms, grounds and restaurants. The six of us never had an issue with the food or drinks. Everyone could find food they liked and lots of it. Staff are over the top friendly always...

Everyone could find food they liked and lots of it. Staff are over the top friendly always willing to help. The nightly entertainment was okay. We might be a bit biased regarding the entertainment since this was our second vacation to this resort and the shows are close to what we saw 2 years ago when we previously went. Our Butler Samual was amazing. He personally decorated our room for us. We went on this trip in part to celebrate my wife’s retirement (40 years nursing). He put up streamers, balloons and a congratulations banner for her at no additional cost. This is the first resort we have went back to, and usually go every year. One issue we had was March break students arrived at the end of our stay (first week of March) and they stayed up screaming and fighting in the hallways until 4-5 in the morning and no one from the hotel seemed to try and manage the issue. Recommend don’t go in March. That’s the only reason I rated the resort a 4 instead of a 5.
