We were charged for a "lost" pillow that magically disappeared. The owner would not even consider maybe it was never there and it was their error. There was no check list of what should of been in the cabin so no way for us to know how many pillows towels...

We were charged for a "lost" pillow that magically disappeared. The owner would not even consider maybe it was never there and it was their error. There was no check list of what should of been in the cabin so no way for us to know how many pillows towels cups and ect. Honestly it wasn't the cleanest but I was willing to look past that considering it's charm. Take pictures when you get there and when you leave so they don't do something like this to you too.

House is well maintained although historical ... meaning quite old and "rustic", but large enough with living room, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom in addition to the bedroom. Historical bed too - very high and narrow ... "Country" breakfast brought to the house by the tenant. No restaurant.

Fresh Breakfast personalized and delivered to our doorstep every morning. All of the recommendations for restaurants and places to see were spot on. Beautiful grounds , refrigerator stocked with water, juices and fresh lemonade. we couldn't have been happier with our stay. We will definitely be back

My husband booked this b&b because he wanted to tour Avery Island. What a find! I can’t believe they have been in business for 29 years, and we didn’t know about it! The cottages are adorable, grounds are beautiful and Lyn is charming! What a perfect getaway. We stayed in the garden cottage but want to try the others, too!

My husband and I wanted someplace relaxing to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and found this gem on the internet. Booking was fast and easy. Great communication via email. This place was simply perfect for us! There are 4 cottages spaced for privacy. We never saw or heard a soul from our cottage and all 4 were booked. There is also a building that almost looks like a scene from a western movie (downtown storefront) that they use as a venue. There is a nice lake with a bridge and pier and a couple of places to sit around the perimeter of the lake. Fishing is allowed (bring your gear or I think they actually have a package available). Speaking of packages, we booked the "couples massage" package and it was AMAZING! Chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling grape juice (or wine) is delivered to your cottage. The spa is about 30 minutes away, but SO worth the drive. Alexis and Cammie gave the best deep tissue massages ever! Very clean, relaxing spa with professional people. Anyway- get that package! Lyn and Ken think of everything when they are getting prepared for you. The place was immaculate and well stocked. The extra touches were so unexpected. The decor was true to the period represented and made us feel at home. The rain shower and clawfoot tub was wonderful. Most importantly the bed was so comfortable. The sheets are the softest I have ever felt. We will be back for the peace and serenity this place offers. Thank you again for making our anniversary so special!

This was our 2nd stay in the sweet surrender cottage. We celebrated our 24th anniversary and enjoyed the peaceful setting. The breakfast was amazingly delicious! Ken and Lyn are wonderful hosts and are very helpful. The cottage has everything you need. If you want to venture out, you can find many things to do in a very short drive. We just booked our 3rd stay to celebrate our 25th anniversary! 😊

My husband and I adore Maison D'Memoire and just had our second stay at Sweet Surrender, a perfect cottage for couples to spend the days together reconnecting and taking it easy. We love the scenery around the cottages, so peaceful and cute with a little pond to walk around and take in some fresh air. Lyn, the lovely owner, prepares the most intoxicating breakfasts so yummy, we loved getting to enjoy the sun room with our meals. We brought movies and snacks and you can order out or bring food to prepare in the kitchenette and we really enjoyed that because we could just keep to ourselves. We already miss Sweet Surrender and can’t wait to go back. It’s been a hard year for everyone, you deserve to take a break and enjoy some rest and relaxation. Highly recommend you staying a long weekend at Maison D’Memoire. Oh and Ps, I didn’t even mention the adorable heart shaped jacuzzi tub in our cottage! Just so unique and fun. Y’all this place is so worth it.

A little slice of heaven is what Maison D'Memoire is. Beautiful scenery. A lake to fish in, walk around, or even enjoy an evening picnic. My wife and I stayed in the Prairie Haven house for our anniversary and enjoyed every minute of it. The gourmet breakfast in the mornings, the homemade cookies to welcome us to our home away from home, the little personal touches all made for such a warm, welcoming, and peaceful environment. One of the things that really caught my attention were the memory journal entries of former guests. I could've sat in the comfortable seats with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and read them all. People from around the state, country, or even from around the world sharing their "memoirs" of their stay in this very house. I can't recommend Maison D'Memoire enough. Ken and Lyn have truly put their heart and soul into this little slice of heaven. I don't know when. But we will definitely be back to make some more memories.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful place. We stayed in the prairie haven cabin and really enjoyed it. The home itself is over 100 years old, so that was really unique but they have it decorated so lovely. Our favorite was the adorable breakfast nook they added on to the back of the house. The home was very comfortable! The food was amazing and at our door every morning between 8 and 830. The owners were super nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The land was beautiful and had a great pond with beautiful scenery! We will definitely make this a place to stay anytime we come back through!

My husband and I decided to take our yearly trip this year to the Autumn Cottage to get away from the busyness of everyday life in seclusion, without the kids, to unwind and relax. We loved the peacefulness and quiet. The property is very beautiful. Lyn was very nice and informative. Everything that we needed was there for our use and breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much Lyn and Ken for sharing your little piece of heaven with us! We will be back in the future!
