We were last in Punta Cana 6 years ago; it was just ok. After staying at Live Aqua Cancun, we decided to try their new location here in Punta Cana. What a great decision! **Upon check-in, that familiar Live Aqua scent filled the huge lobby/check-in area. Beautiful. After we checked in, we were shown to our basic "king garden view" room. The room was very nice except one thing...it had a musty smell. As it seems is so common in Dominican resorts. We spent one night in that room, and I received an email from the hotel welcoming me and asking me for input on what we thought of the resort. I replied that although it's a beautiful place, our room "smelled." The next day the concierge.... Angela, called me and changed our room for us. She also discovered that we were there celebrating my better half's birthday, and fully decorated our new room, sent her a birthday cake and a bottle of wine. She also had our table at the French restaurant that night decorated for the celebration and told us that she would be our "butler" for our stay, and that if we needed anything to just let her know. She checked in with us daily and was one of the highlights of our trip. What a great employee! *****The draw of the resort is how sleek and understatedly sophisticated it is. They also excelled with the entertainment team and their main pool area. We didn't go to the beach much, because the main pool was so nice, and plenty of activities were held there....foam party, water aerobics, dance class, pool music, drink service. Just a few steps from the main pool, was their Wonderpool bar area where they held cigar/rum tastings twice a week, along with cooking demonstrations on other days. Loved it! ****** Entertainment Team: This was Live Aqua's strong suit. I compare this resort to their Cancun location because we liked it in Cancun so much, but the activity level here in Punta Cana is miles ahead of Cancun. There seemed to be a lot more to do here, from pool activities to the nightly after dinner entertainment. Talking to the entertainment team, they work incredibly long hours. Often arriving by 8:00 am and going sometimes until midnight. Some of the smiling faces of the team are Red, Luis, Precila, and Jesus...who was fantastic to us. Always making sure we were having a fun time. ****** Restaurants: They were hit and miss. The Mediterranean restaurant above the main pool for lunch was fantastic. Joel, who seemed to make sure things ran smoothly there, was fantastic. If we wanted anything, he made sure we got it. Every meal we had there was spot on! Our first time in the French restaurant was a lost cause. I think they were short staffed because we waited literally 30 minutes just to order our drinks. We finally got our food about 90 minutes after first walking in, and the shrimp entre I ordered looked emancipated and completely lacking compared to how it was supposed to look according to their menu. We decided to give it another try later during our 7 night stay....180-degree difference. On our 2nd attempt, as we walked in, Joel was there talking to the front staff near the hostess stand. When he saw us asking for a table, he said a few words to Martin, who would be our waiter that night. They ushered us into a private dining room and gave us what seemed like endless bottles of sparkling wine during our steak/lobster dinner. Best dinner we had during our stay, they even brought out the chef...Austin, he gave us a great meal. The filet was fantastic...as was the entire experience...thank you Martin, and especially Joel for the memorable dinner! We also had a hit and miss during out two trips to the Seishin restaurant, but Donys...our waiter during our 2nd time there was very good. The Italian restaurant: Sospiro was good one night...very good lasagna. The second trip there was just...meh. The Mexican restaurant: AT: was our least favorite, except for the churros which we'd go back for. ******Pools: Compared to the pools at LA Cancun, which do have a great infinity pool... this pool was a 10/10, our hangout during our stay. I liked it that they had music, and always entertainment going on. And whoever said they didn't have many pool drink runners was there on a bad week. We had constant service at the pool, and Miguel always seemed to be there right when we wanted another. The perfect pool/drink waiter. It also had a swim up bar that we used often...loved their pool. They also had more private pools leading from the Wonderpool bar to the main pool by the beach, but we didn't use those pools as we preferred more energy that the main pool provided. ****** All in all, though it started out with a smelly room.... all four of us (2 couples) agreed it was one of our top vacations. The staff were friendly, hardworking, and always concerned we were having fun. We'd come back to LA Punta Cana in a heartbeat.

My husband and I went to Live Aqua for seven days and did not have a single complaint. The resort and rooms were gorgeous and clean. The food was amazing and the staff was incredible. A special thank you to Josue, Angelo, Raquel, Red, Asi, Anderson and Jolio Coffee for going above and beyond for us. You guys made our experience unforgettable!! He would not leave until we had whatever we needed to make us happy 👌We will definitely be back. When heading to the beach, find Angelo, he had his eye on us as well, refilling drinks whenever we needed them. An overall beautiful resort with some great people.

We truly felt like royalty at Live Aqua...we have already plan to return and will ask for him personally on our next visit. I went for a week last year and would love to come back. The only reason I am not going is the food. The resort has the perfect installations, staff, menu, but the execution of the food is very bad. With exception of the bar pizza, everything else was either sloppy or just plain thrown on your plate. I know I didn't pay for the VIP treatment but a simple spaghetti or lasagna has no place to be badly done. This resort needs a General Manager and a good Chef. Everything else is there just waiting to happen. Hopefully it gets better but for this price I would prefer not going.

We visited for 8 nights in mid-December and stayed at a pool view swim-up. My partner had stayed at an all-inclusive previously, but this was my first experience at an all-inclusive. We booked a package including the stay, airfare, and transfers through Costco. To be honest, I am somebody who likes to explore a lot when I travel so I was skeptical of going to an all-inclusive but we were overall very happy with the quality of our stay at Live Aqua Punta Cana. In doing a lot of research on different resorts in Punta Cana, Live Aqua consistently was mentioned as having great service and we found that to be true. Our room was great. I like to sleep in a cool room so I was a little worried about whether the air conditioning would be up to the task and we never had an issue. The double-size shower was very nice, although the semi-private toilets in the room aren't entirely ideal. The bed was very nice and had different options for scents and different pillow types that we did not take advantage of. We did not have any issue with smells or dampness or anything like that. When you tell somebody that you went to an all inclusive, frequently the first question they will ask is how the food is and we were happy with the food. Some of my family members with very high fine dining expectations may have been disappointed, but my partner and I visited each of the restaurants and liked them all. I think our favorite might have been Miraflores for ceviche at lunch. I especially appreciated that the breakfast buffet had Dominican options. The pool layout is very nice--this gets brought up a lot, but in addition to the swim-up pools they have a main central pool with a swim-up bar that frequently has entertainment, music, and parties, and then four smaller pools for a quieter vibe. We were always happy with the party action in the central pool and on some days it was extremely lively. The pools are not heated and the temperature in December was fine during the day and a little chilly at night. I spent less time on the beach, but wanted to point out that if you walk five minutes north to the beach outside of Breathless there is rocks and a reef right off of the beach that you can snorkel on if you bring your own gear. It's not A+ snorkeling but for being a couple of feet off of the beach, it is hard to beat! In terms of nightlife, my research made it seem like Live Aqua was a bit more mature and toned-down than other all-inclusives but honestly, there was always something happening at Live Aqua and we were never bored. In addition to the planned entertainment that happened every night, there was almost always a good crowd at the bars. We were very happy with the quality of drinks. Although we had access to the nicer bar at the VIP lounge, we did not really use it. One of the standout parts of Live Aqua for me was the sports bar, Compton Street. We visited early in the trip to see if they would have a football game (they had it on--they get a whole lot of channels and it is also a good way to meet other guests!) and it quickly became one of our top spots at the whole resort for getting a drink before dinner, getting a drink after dinner, or chatting with the people that we met at the resort. The food was also very good for snacks or pizza when somebody wanted something more substantial. The Compton Street team of Vanessa, Helen, and Moses were some of our favorite people at the entire resort and they all provided A+ service. As I mention, it really seemed like there was a focus on service that went above and beyond at Live Aqua. Some of our other favorite team members were Anthony, Ishmael, Nathaniel, Juan at Horizon, Jhony the bartender at Seishin, Adorys at Chez Rose, Miguel from Miraflores, Brandol, Cristina, and Fernando. Overall we had a wonderful time and if we return to an all-inclusive in Punta Cana in the future, Live Aqua will be at the top of our list.

The resort was pretty good, a little smaller than others but we enjoyed the adult only aspect and the relaxation. The rooms were fine and the food was good for an AI resort. The thing that really made this resort stand out was it's staff. I've read the negative reviews about the staff and now can honestly say those negative reviewers were upset about something else or were wanting to be treated like royalty. There were a few staff members who made our stay extraordinary. Jhonny Google from the pool always kept our glass full and always asked if there was anything he could do for us. He was engaging and fun to speak with. Our butlers Jonathon and Ivan were great and were always available. Both assisted us with every detail we requested and were very engaging in conversation. This is what sets this resort apart from the others we have been to and why we are likely to make a return visit.

I didn't like the musty smell in the room. Be careful if you get a room in the first building and you want to sleep, it's impossible because the music is very loud every night! On the 4th day of the vacation I got infected from their food (Diarrhea for 6 days), on the last night of our vacation he got infected and my husband called the doctor at the hotel who said I had to pay $300 for the consultation, of course the hotel paid for the doctor in the end! So we pay $4500 for a week to get sick and have a terrible vacation, shame on you for the old expired food!!!!

Gym is about to recieve some more equipment (verrified by spa manager), but, needs it to arrive and gym will be top notch. 3. Room service was pretty slow. Always 20-30 minutes after quoted and would arrive cold. 4. I had contacted the concierge prior to arrival to arrange for a bottle of Tito's in our room for $100 fee. No biggie. Arrived and it was never there. We were not charged, however, they ran out day 2/3/4 and we had to go with Skyy. This was the most dissapointing one or everything due to the prior arrangement for it. 5. My girlfriend would have liked an evening buffet to pick and vhoose from rather than the a la cart menus. NOW FOR THE AMAZING. 1. The staff. Just phenomenal and so accomadating. A. Pool staff (Josue amd Johnny) was great. Always found us shade and was super friendly. Pool bar (Joel and Jullian) were great to us all times. B. Miraflores bartenders Rafael, Joel, and a young woman who i didnt get her name..... made it amazing. C. Event staff was great. I forget her name, but, cigar and rum classes, zumba, water areobics and more. She would see .e and my girl around and just lighten up the day. Truly appreciated the sass as well. Kept us on our toes. D. Buffet staff was on the spot with friendliness, accomadations, and just a great vibe. Wandy, jackeline, Juan were always great to see in the morning. E. Sheinsin reatraunt bartender Johnny Bravo was always great to see. He made our first and last cocktails of the trip and was always excited. These are specofic people that stood out. The entire staff was phenomenal. 2. The experiences: i have had close to, if not more than 500 massages in my life. My girlfiend and I took advantage of the couples 80 minute package. By far the best massage I have ever had. She worked out a knot in my shoulder that had been there for several months and nobody had been able to relieve. All of the organized activites were so much fun (Cigar and Rum was my favorite.) 3. The grounds are amazing. Nothing else to say. They are brought down by the construction next door and I wish they could convince the neighbor resorts to clean the beach how they do. Softest sand and cleanest beach i have been to. All in all. 4.5 of 5 stars due to the concierge issue. We will be back.

Soledad e Cristina from the sports bar were amazing Joe from the swim up bar up was great! Alexander was great with the itinerary! Definitely a vibe music was really good and the night club was great. The food was amazing too the breakfast buffet.

Pedro, our butler, went above and beyond to make our stay special—his service was outstanding, and we truly appreciated his efforts. The food was excellent, with a great variety of options to choose from. Every meal was well-prepared, flavorful, and fresh. The beach was stunning, with soft sand and clear water, perfect for relaxation. Overall, everything about this resort exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a place with great service, delicious food, and a relaxing atmosphere, I highly recommend Live Aqua Punta Cana. We will definitely be returning!

Raul the chef for our breakfast was a favorite. Great at his job and so friendly. Now for the negatives. We had to look for staff to get service around parts of the resort. We had a disturbing situation at the Chinese restaurant. One member in our party is allergic to shrimp and was given a sushi with shrimp in it. This was after they asked and were told of her allergies. It could have had a catastrophic outcome but fortunately was caught early enough.....

The resort is beautiful. Food is great. Entertainment team is amazing! LUIS makes everything so much more enjoyable. Stayed for a week and never got bored or tired of the food. The night events are a lot of fun too. You won’t regret. Highly recommend.
