The Le Taha’a By Pearl Resorts is a very special place. When you arrive at Raiatea airport, staff greet you and you walk a few yards to the hotel’s boat. Half an hour later, you arrive at a small motu (island) with stunning tropical trees and shrubs and beautiful fishes and birds. Thatched bungalows set along the shore and on overwater walkways contain lovely lotions and shampoos. The staff were always warm and friendly, and Jackson and the waitstaff were kind and helpful. You can kayak and snorkel right in front of the resort, but you need skill and experience to safely navigate the superb snorkeling in a very fast-flowing channel over coral gardens. (Safely for the coral and you.) I appreciate the lengths the staff take to protect this coral— free coral-safe sunscreen and the loan of water shoes to protect the coral from fins. (I didn’t see that anywhere else we went.) On the last day, the staff mentioned that my own Tevas worked better than the reef shoes, so take your Tevas! The food is abundant and beautifully presented. Breakfast includes fresh local fruits, delicious pastries, and everything else. One night at dinner we loved the Polynesian show of music, dancing, and even fire dancing. One day our package included massages, and that was very special. I told my masseuse, Nei-ty, that it was the best massage of my life. The motu is small, but staff arranged for us to go by free hotel boat one day to Taha’a to rent e-bikes to ride around the island (regular bikes weren’t available that day), and one day to Raiatea to rent a car to drive around that island.

It was the most beautiful place we have ever been and a once in a lifetime dream to go to French Polynesia and stay in an over the water bungalow. LE Taha’a is truly paradise. Clear beautiful water. Clean and well groomed grounds. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The over the water bungalows were awesome. The food was great. I can’t say enough wonderful things. If it were closer, we would go every chance we could.

This place is a magical slice of paradise all by itself tucked away from the main island of Taha'a. The beautiful landscape takes your breath away as does the amazing sunsets. Our awesome over water bungalow was amazing and spacious! The coral garden is a spectacular display of marine life!...

This place is a magical slice of paradise all by itself tucked away from the main island of Taha'a. The beautiful landscape takes your breath away as does the amazing sunsets. Our awesome over water bungalow was amazing and spacious! The coral garden is a spectacular display of marine life! And last, but not least the staff are what makes it over the top as they are so friendly and efficient. A special shout out to the breakfast chef as she has great energy and also makes a fantastic omelet! I highly recommend this gem!!

Every member of the staff at Le Taha's we encountered was just superb striving to give us their best service! Thanks to HERENUI, who orchestrated our 40th Wedding anniversary romantic dinner with entertainment provided by staff with singing and ukulele, to dinner at the Tipaireid gourmet dinner by the Chef LOIC MERCIER which was outstanding, with service from SYLIRE & LIORIENNE, to the main dining of daily eggs and smiles to order of MARERE & BARBARA, and attentive service from MOEA, JENNY, ANTONNIA, BRENDA, HENA, LAURA,MARTINE, &TILDA to the front desk of EVAARII, TIMONA, & PUAINUI, and our room attendants BETTY & RUIRAU ,who replenished our "Royal Suite" with overflowing tropical flowers and refreshment to boat Transportation from WALLACE & RUI to gardeners working the grounds daily like TONY, all the staff including the Polynesian dancers and singers are the reason why we will come back...from delicious dishes to wonderful Hospitality to actual tears when we left...this resort was the best place we have been fortunate to have discovered and truly an unforgettable experience! Le Taha’a resort provides a unique combination of serenity and taste perfectly blended with the picturesque surroundings. We were welcomed with cool drinks and sat comfortably in the lobby while the check-in formalities were completed at the counter. Our overwater villa was at the end of the pier in the middle of turquoise waters. In the mornings we swam in the shallow lagoon – there is little to see, but in the evenings many fish gather under the lights. Snorkeling in the Coral Garden is beautiful with many tropical fish, but it is only possible during high tide and even then, the water is only a meter or so deep. The pool is small and directly served by the adjacent bar. It offers picture book views of the beach and the lagoon. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the Hawaiki Nui restaurant with a choice of expertly prepared food and an extensive wine list. On Tuesday nights there is an unavoidable (and mediocre) Polynesian Buffet with indigenous dancing and fire show. An ice cream parlor is available for refreshments in the afternoon. The grounds are extraordinarily well kept, gardeners and workers are constantly active. Walking though the resort at night is magic with beautifully placed lighting along the paths and in the trees. We had occasional rain during our stay and two days of high winds, but most of of time it was sunny and clear.

We were very charmed by this hotel. We stayed in an overwater bungalow and loved the overall experience. Purchased an inclusive package with dinners through Costco Travel and were so pleased with them and the hotel. The snorkeling is excellent and the island walks are very pleasant. Very secluded location but easy access to the main Taha'a island through the boat shuttle.

Beautiful coral garden and natural walks. Loved the vibe at the pool and bar. The vill was just stunning, amazing furniture, one of the best beds we slept on.
