Very nice indeed and would recommend. Breakfast was delicious and the staff extremely attentive. Suites very clean and spacious. We arrived on Monday 23 December to find out that the bar only opens on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday - shame that was not advertised or stated on their website - that is our only grip - when getting in late from a flight and the last thing you want is to go out, we just wanted a glass of wine and a beer in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and very helpful!.

I will start by saying that I feel badly about writing a review like this bc my husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and enjoyed it..
Unfortunately, though, our most recent experience was not great. Something was “off” to us... New ownership? New management? Unclear. But in short we were very disappointed and it is unlikely that we will return anytime soon, despite the great location. Not a four-star experience, nor worth the money that we spent.
Staffing:
-Staff seemed thin in number and disengaged, even smarmy at times
-There was no one to assist with luggage upon arrival or during departure. No one at the front desk said a word about this (not an apology, not a suggestion that they were understaffed so didn’t have bellhops), nor offered any help of any kind. The result was chaos w people lugging bags, kids, dogs though the lobby, grabbing carts to transport items themselves (which they would then leave upstairs), etc
-The valet (car) situation was equally frustrating - clearly understaffed so very slow at retrieving our car when we needed it
-Our room was clean but cleaners cleaned very late in the day (4pm!) - seemingly understaffed as well
Lobby/Hallways:
-The lobby was wholly uninviting - nowhere to sit except a small area with a few chairs near an unlit fireplace. This space didn’t seem to be connected to the bar/restaurant any longer, either (we had drinks there in the past )
-The elevators were very beat up - dirty floors and banged up walls that needed repair
-The upstairs hallways needed vacuuming
Room (executive suite):
-Room was huge but largely unfurnished. We had heard that the hotel had been “renovated” a few years ago; if so, this was a truly bizarre result (uninviting, cavernous, very poorly lit)
-The main living room layout was baffling… furniture was was sparse and strangely arranged; there was no easy way to sit on the (uncomfortable) couch and watch tv, no desk, just a few chairs scattered around and a small table
-The kitchenette was useful but they limited coffee pods to ONE per person, per day
-The bathroom was extremely cold
-Sufficient bath towels, but one of the bathrobes they provided was completely shredded in spots, as if a dog had ripped through it (still wondering why it had not been thrown away?!)
-The bedroom was fine but extremely poorly lit and had an unusually small TV on the wall - too small and too high up to even really use
-Smart TV was nice to have but - no Netflix or Apple TV .. so had to use our laptop in the end
I am hopeful that this review can be viewed as constructive.

Stayed at this hotel prior to taking a cruise that left from the Port of Montreal. The hotel's location is excellent for exploring Old Town Montreal; you're basically IN IT! It is surrounded by many restaurants and shops and the staff can make loads of recommendations. It is also a convenient location to the Port. Without having to haul luggage for a cruise, the walk to the Port would be but a leisurely stroll in minutes.
The hotel staff, from Front Desk Reception to the Concierge(s) to the wait staff in the restaurant were very professional, friendly, knowledgable, and efficient.
The fresh breakfasts (which were Included in our rate) were large and delicious, served in a pleasant dining room that is open and airy, yet intimate and relaxing. There is also a full bar in the hotel.
The recently renovated room itself was quite large (as you can see from the many room pictures shown at the site) and nicely furnished. There was an espresso machine, a teapot, minibar and other nice amenities. Even the bath products (e.g. body wash, shampoo, etc) are L'Occitane; a classy touch.
The Only Con that I could mention...and it is certainly NOT the fault of the hotel, is that at the time (and for some time to come given the extent of it) there is quite a bit of heavy street construction directly around the hotel (and in Old Town, in general) making some navigation (both on foot and by vehicle) a bit dicey at times. However we didn't find it all that distracting or disturbing to our stay. Just be aware it's there.
I would highly, Highly recommend staying at this establishment!!

Brilliantly positioned in the heart of Vieux Montreal—next to the central church, a minute from the riverside walk—this is a terrifically stylish, attentive and tasteful hotel. The staff, from the bell desk to the front desk to valet parking, are as kind and thoughtful as I’ve met in months of travel; there’s even a concierge ready to direct one towards the best ice-cream or breakfast. The suite we were given was huge and enjoyed a beautiful view over the city. Every last detail is tasteful and worthy of a four-star hotel in Paris.
From first word to last, this was a glorious surprise; I can’t imagine anywhere better!
