Las Brisas Huatulco is hands down our favorite all-inclusive resort, and we simply can’t stay away! Since 2019, we’ve returned eight times, and every visit reaffirms why we love this place so much. Location & Atmosphere: Nestled in a stunning location, the resort spans over a kilometer, making it a dream for those who love to walk and explore. The lush hills, breathtaking ocean views, and well-maintained grounds create a peaceful and immersive experience. There’s always something to do, and yet it’s easy to find a quiet spot to unwind. The Staff – Our Las Brisas Family: One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is the incredible staff. From the moment we arrive, we’re greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. Special shoutouts to Juan at Solarium, Anita at breakfast & lunch, Eva (her omelets are amazing!), Allan at Bella Vista, and the talented drummer! The list goes on—there are too many wonderful people to name! We love catching up with them each year and seeing how they’re doing. Dining & Restaurants: The food is fantastic! Every restaurant offers a wonderful ambiance and that extra touch that makes mealtime special. Whether it’s a casual bite or a more refined dining experience, we’re always impressed with the quality and variety. Beaches & Activities: Our favorite spot? The Sports Beach! We love paddleboarding, kayaking, and especially sailing. Paco and his team are always welcoming, and we look forward to our sailing lessons with Paco every year—he’s such a kind and patient instructor! The beaches are absolutely top-notch, and the snorkeling reef is stunning, filled with vibrant marine life. We’ve tried to explore other destinations, but nothing compares to Las Brisas. It’s truly a paradise that keeps calling us back, year after year. Im still here (checking out today) and already planning to come back. The staff are amazing and the food is wonderful. Everyone working here seems to be truely happy and go to lengths to make sure YOU are happy. All the rooms are on the hillside but little carts take you anywhere you want to go. There are 3 beaches, 2 breakfast buffets, 1 dinner and supper buffet, snack restaurant and 5 ala carts. The rooms are older but very clean and comfortable beds. The drinks are superb! Nothing is watered down and the alcohol is top notch! Beer is cold and Roberto on the beach is so much fun. There are vendors but if you dont want something they are polite and move on. The beaches are very nice but lots of dead coral. The "reef" is ok but pretty much dead. Very few fish to see. The water is crystal clear and warm. This is a gem in Mexico and I wish I could say stay away so it preserves this quaint unspoiled laid back area.

The Entertainment Team is THE BEST!! These young people give it their all and they are amazing!!!! Mucho gracias!! We will be back again soon!! Our 3rd time here and we loved it very much! Beaches Club is great!! Beds are comfy, pillows are great, excellent snorkelling!

The lottery was fantastic and Amanda and Ivan were wonderfully entertaining and helpful! I can’t express how much we enjoyed their presence and personalities. They deserve everything positive for their patience and interactions with the guests. Much love.

We stayed at the beautiful Las Brisas Resort from Feb 15-25th. What a wonderful place. 4 beaches, 6 restaurants, 4 pools. Very hot and humid but we loved that. Don’t need to bring any pants or sweaters as even at night it is warm and pleasant. Tips – bring a handheld fan or battery operated little fan. They sell handheld ones on beach (vendor) and in store but kinda pricy. Lots of squirrels and Coatis (kind of like racoons). The snorkel beach is amazing. Probably best snorkelling I have ever seen at a resort. As it is in the bay, nice and calm. You can float or if you want, you can just wade in and see all kinds of sealife even if you go only up to your waist. I saw all kinds of fish, sea urchins, octopus, totally cool! Sports beach – never busy. We never went out and did the activities but they had sailing, kayaks, and paddle boarding free of charge. They also have snorkel masks you can sign out here but I brought my own. They also have jet skis and banana boats but they charge for these two things. Restaurants – we were able to book and go to all of them as we were there for 10 days. You can only book 7 days in advance and had go back to book other days on the following Sunday. Moroccan – didn’t not really like this one and seats are low to ground so quite different than others. Other restaurants – all have many options to pick from. Mexican restaurant – make sure you order Mexican coffee, only place you can get it, it is delicious! Buffet was amazing too – had a different theme every day and lots and lots of choices. The Tex Mex night was awesome, all sorts of meats and fish. Mexican restaurant was also a small breakfast buffet every day. You can also go to the main buffet if you choose. Lunch – there was a small snack bar by the sports bar or you can go to the main buffet if you choose. Pools – There are 4 pools – Kids pool, Adult pool, Activity pool and a smaller pool with basketball nets. I saw worker check water with a test tube kit one day and record it on a laptop so that is a good sign. The pools are clean and warm. Bars – all have drink menus and peanuts/pretzels you can get. Watch out for the squirrels who will go into your bag or jump on your table and try to take them to eat. Sports bar – watched the 4-Nation game there. Sound was not on but the 300-400 people there still had a good time and Canada won! This is the only complaint I have is that they should have had some sort of activity surrounding this or at least had better volume. Rooms all up on mountain so very steep to walk up. We walked for the most part. At night, we took the golf cart / trolley thing. You can catch at main lobby or you can call at the little shuttle stations for a cart to be sent as well. Very handy. Rooms were very clean, fridge has beers, pop, juice, bag of chips and water bottles. Some rooms do not have a balcony. We booked through Expedia so they gave us a room upgrade. Ours had a view of the jungle, which was kinda fun as I saw all kinds of birds, coatis, and squirrels. AC worked good, lots of shelves for clothes. Bathroom was huge: shower area, another area with toilet and counter and another area for sink and another counter. Also had a 2nd phone in bathroom, not really sure why as there was one by beds too. Rooms also had a coffee machine that was restocked with pods, cream and sugar daily. One day they forgot to clean room, a short call to front desk and they sent someone right away. Tipping – didn’t see much tipping going on. We would tip the bar service guys or the people who worked the beach and pools delivering drinks. Also left tips for the room fridge and maid every day. Also tipped the golf cart driver here and there. Tips – bring a portable hand held fan or battery operated one. Very hot and humid even at night. Bring suntan lotion – in resort store it was priced as $47 for a bottle. Reapply often especially when you are snorkling at the snorkel beach. I reapplied quite a few times but still got burned. By the giftshop/sports bar – couple tour excursions you can book with (west jet and Air Canada) and also hotel one. Lots of fun things to do for the day. We did the 7 bay tour and enjoyed that. Bring pesos for lunch and underwater camera for snorkling. If you need to exchange larger pesos to smaller ones, go to front desk. May have to go back later in day as some days, they ran out of smaller bills. But few hours later, they got more in. Bring good shoes, lots of walking. Bring a bubba cup for beach and pools. Keeps drinks colder and can hold more than the resort cups do. Bring a floatie if you can. Otherwise, keep an eye on the outdoor shower areas. Often people would leave their floaties there when they went home. We lucked out and found a couple that we passed on after we left. There were these really cool floaties that everyone had with a blow up pillow on each side and netting that held it together. They sold in giftshop as well but sold out quickly so I never seen them there when I looked. Something to look for when I go next time to put in luggage. We took a trip to La Crucicita – 100 pesos each way by cab. Lots of stores and an indoor market that has pretty much every single thing you can buy (shirts, hats, vanilla, tequila, and all sorts of other stuff). Nice church to go inside and view the art and history. Talked to a lot of people and a lot of people have been to this resort 6 or 7 or more times so that is always a good sign. Also good to note, some people we talked to stayed at other resorts across like Dreams, Secrets and Barcelo and their beaches drop off quite quickly and get very deep. Hence, why we never seen many people on the beaches. Also, they have a night show but nothing else after and no where else to hang out. This resort had live music or a DJ every night after the show so always pretty happening there. No Disco per say but the sports bar area would be where everything happened at night and where everyone stayed and hung out. Some nights, people danced to the live music too. Airport – very small. You get off the plane on the tarmack and walk to airport. Same with going back on way home. There are a few stores and one restaurant inside when you are going home. Not much else there. Check out – check out time is noon. Our plane did not leave until 5pm so they let you keep your wrist bands on until you want to leave so that was nice. Got to have lunch and a few last drinks. Favorite drinks – Mojitos were delicious as well as lime margaritas and strawberry margaritas. All restaurants have full bar inside so you can have whatever you want to drink there. Huatulco coladas were also a new drink we tried, very tasty and not as sweet as normal pina coladas. Great drink menu for kids too (I saw 12 drinks on there). Never went to the kids area of resort but I heard it was pretty good too. Beach club – we did not join this as it was way overpriced when we looked but heard that they have a small buffet lunch by their rooms each day and a cocktail/snack hour in afternoon. They also can have the top shelf alcohol like bottled beer at the bars. But you have to ask for it, it is not explained to people. Funny how, we knew more about this than the people who were in this and paid for it. We told so many people who had no clue what they were getting. Resort App – This was not told to anyone apparently. I knew because I joined the Facebook resort pages. We probably told 20 people who were not aware of this app which I found odd. Even in room there was no mention or on the papers when you check in. It was a really good app, it showed what time restaurants were open, what menu they had, what time shows would start, map of resort, drink menu and what time activities were on, weather temperatures and much more. Very handy. Not sure why no one knew about it and it is not really advertised anywhere around resort, kind of a hidden secret. You can even chat with front desk and ask questions or book a golf cart on there. Overall, it was a great 10 days vacation. We were very happy with this resort and plan to go back someday. We never got to check out the bird watching tour that the hotel offered or check out the botanical gardens, so maybe next time around.

The rooms, beaches, the grounds and services were very good but the food resulted in a 4 instead of a 5. The food in general was OK but in the buffet and a la carte restaurants food tended to be overcooked and not hot. The only way to get hot and properly cooked food was to go to the stations where there were cooking in front of you. Thus all the a la carte restaurants were lacking although some of their dishes were very good and most were well presented but lukewarm. At the a la carte restaurants, there were 3 sittings and as the end of your 90 minutes (from 60 minutes on) the staff seemed to be more interested in clearing your plates and setting up for the next sitting than ensuring that you had finished you main course before depositing your desert on the table or your wine glasses were full if you wanted some more and you were never offered coffee. We have been there about 10 times and will most probably go again next year as the pros outweigh the cons.

Loved the beaches at the resort, the food was very good overall. Can’t say enough good things about the fantastic staff they are so caring, the pools are nice and warm, the shuttles run all the time for those that need; we loved the free birdwatching tour with Pablo at the hotel and he also took us to the beautiful Magica waterfalls. Air conditioning was good, no mosquitos in the dry season. Cons - the entertainment was too loud in the lobby and at the shows, it would be much more enjoyable at a lower volume. The bathroom needs a proper fan as it got too hot. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back or recommend this resort. Everything was top notch!
