Positive: The building is very stoic and impressive. Personell is very friendly Negative: We booked a suite and we could hear the people next door showering and watching TV My wife booked a pregnancy Massage and was taken in 10 minutes late and let go 10 minutes to early (rip off!!) We were twice seated in the middle of the room, where no privacy has had to be had. Other people sat all around of you! Portions of all food are VERY small, for the price you are paying absolutely not worth it. Quality was okeyish (we were there two nights and ate breakfast and dinner there) Suite was kinda smelly and there was watter damage on the ground (suite has a jacuzzi) Luckily part of the trip was paid by a third party, otherwise i had felt ripped of very hard. You pay premium and recieve budget!

Kurhaus Cademario is a typical, old-style large Swiss hotel which has been nicely remodeled with stunning, panoramic views of Lago Lugano and the town of Lugano, although the road getting to the hotel is not for the feint-hearted. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very friendly. The main problem is the restaurant, which serves quite pedestrian food at a high price. Since there are few other restaurants in this somewhat isolated position, the hotel would do well to find a better chef or to ensure that he lifts his game. The other off-putting detail was that there was no information of any kind in the room (including a room service menu) and one was encouraged to scan a QR code to access information. But when one tried to do so, one had to download ChatGPT (AI) onto one’s phone, which we did not wish to do. The spa, however, is very nice and the large indoor-outdoor pool unusually warm, making it nice to use.

The rooms are gorgeous and it´s worthwhile to book one with lake view. Make sure to book online on the website of the hotel to get the best conditions. Food is good and the view from the restaurant and its terrace beautiful. Opulent breakfast and many hiking / walking options in front of the door. They also have mountainbikes. We enjoyed our stay over Christmas, we only missed the "soul" you find in other hotels during that period. The bar section is rather plain, decoration scarce and ambiance not inviting. The tunes of a lonely live music player mixes with the tasteless "canned sound" from some radio in the dining room, so during each dinner you got exposed to an annoying cacophony. I told them once and they switched off the radio sound, next evening all was same as before. Nobody seems to really care. The staff is very friendly, but the hand of someone who takes care of the guests' concerns and the details that make a stay memorable is missing. Something that is announced as a "welcome drink" and then turns out to be two tiny glasses of tea just doesn't seem welcoming. When you inform the staff that the potatoes at Christmas dinner are unfortunately raw and the only reaction to that is "I'll tell the kitchen, other guests have already noticed too" that´s more than meagre. I retried upon checkout and the answer I got was "that´s the recipe, it´s crisp potatoes." Sorry, between crisp and just raw there is a difference. Raw potatoes not only taste awful, they are actually inedible and cause health problems. To serve something like that on Christmas Eve and maintain "it´s the recipe" when a guest points it out is an affront. Brief: We´d go back, it´s a nice hotel in a great location, with nice outdoor choices and a good SPA. But we´ll for sure choose other places to spend some Christmas days.

Stayed at Kurhaus in October of 2023 and had a pretty terrible experience. In my opinion the location of this hotel is awful, it is high up on the side of a mountain far away from anything (restaurants, stores, activities). We asked the front desk and they said the nearest restaurant (that isn't the overpriced one at the hotel) would require us to take a taxi which would cost about 60 Francs, one way, so 120 just to get there and back. We asked the man at the front what there was to do near the hotel without paying for a cab back to town and he just shrugged his shoulders. We checked out the pool and spa which were mediocre, pools were room temperature to chilly, and there was no not tub. We ate at the restaurant (to avoid the 120 chf taxi fare) and it was also a very poor experience, took almost 2 hours to eat, over 60 minutes between placing our order and receiving the food because apparently the kitchen was very busy, but the restaurant wasn't even at 20% capacity. In addition to all of this, there was a dog in one of the hotel rooms which barked constantly, we talked to the front desk about this, he said he could move us to another room, great we said. We ask "can you make sure it's in an area where we can't hear the dog?" to which he responds with his trademark shoulder shrug. We were supposed to stay 2 nights here. We explained to the front desk staff how disappointed we were with our stay and the accommodations, and we intended to check out in the morning and not stay the second night. We asked if we could be refunded for only our second night because of how poor our experience was to which they refused. We disliked the hotel so much we ate the cost of the second night, and spent a couple hundred dollars to book a train and hotel in Milan where we had a fantastic time. If all you want to do is go to the spa, sit next to a pool (no hot tub) way up on a hill, and wait an hour to get the food you ordered, then maybe this is the place for you. Overall, I would NOT recommend Kurhaus.

i definitely recommend this hotel! We stayed at the penthouse on the the 5th floor, and room was amazing. 2 bathrooms, wood floors, nice shower, 2 balconies. Views are breathtaking! They have swimming pools and saunas. Very nice place to relax. I tried facial and massage in their spa- I do not recommend that. It was very very basic, without anything extra, just application of their skin products. I asked if sunscreen can be applied at the rnd of facial- and was told that I can buy it at there store:)! I don’t think spa is at the good level. But hotel is great! Breakfast is good, no variety of you are staying for a few days, poor choice of fruits. Dinner is not bad at their restaurant, but very specific selections, may not be for everyone. If you do eat there- try tiramisu:)! This hotel is not easy to get to. Take 422 bus from the train station or if you rent car prepare for a tricky road with a lot of sharp turns (gets easier after 1st time). Plenty of free parking by hotel

It’s unfortunate they didn’t use the space well, as the best part of this hotel is the views and pools/spa. Other than that, very expensive (typical for Switzerland I guess), however, we ordered a plate of fries to our room and it was $35 (Canadian) for over salted pre-frozen fries!

A wonderful spot and a lovely hotel and spa with the pool etc included in the price of the room. We were lucky with the weather and our room was very reasonably priced, however this is more than offset by the cost of drinks and food. The presentation of the dishes was excellent however the taste was lacking resulting in huge disappointment particularly with the excessive prices charged. €63 for a bottle of house white over €400 for dinner, which, as mentioned was disappointing. Perhaps the hotel would be busier if the restaurant prices were less exorbitant?
