We are grateful to have traveled to some Beautiful places within Canada..Europe and Asia and Mexico over the years with Gratitude and have always felt it was a great experience . As frustration grew with our 1 night stay I asked the bellman if this property was Canadian owned and he replied yes. Of course it is a choice where you go and not everyone has the same expectations. This property is way overpriced and nothing about it made us feel welcome. Our room was $423 a senior rate ..no view..yes a comfortable king bed. Restaurants were all shockingly expensive and you have no alternative unless you drive an hour to Canmore. And checking in at 4 or after and wanting to use the Nordic spa you have to pay $135 per person plus tax to use the facility not to mention the prices quoted for a massage. We could probably have afforded all the amenities but there was a principle involved and we did enjoy our room..ate out of our picnic basket intended for our hike and enjoyed our drive to Canmore and Banff dreaming of our next stay in our beautiful Canada where everyone is entitled to a night away without feeling ripped off. An added note that changed our day..check out the William Watson Resort establishment back in the 1980's by the Peter Lougheed government..a place where people with disabilities can stay as well as seniors over 65 and Alberta residents. Yes you take your food and your bedding and prices start at $35 per night for a 1 bedroom. A happy heart moment knowing this exists in Kananaskis.

In mid-November my beautiful partner and I stated at this fantastic lodge to celebrate her Birthday. We've both stayed at this picturesque hotel before, but this particular visit exceeded our every expectation. I'd called the PKML in advance to make some arrangements for the weekend (ordered the cake and Prosecco, and made a reservation at the Cedar Room. The concierge team were engaged and followed up with me diligently in the days leading up to our arrival on each of my requests. Upon arrival, and as with previous stays, the valet and bellhop service was second to none... they're incredibly attentive and dutiful. The room (a king bi-level loft) was exquisite, and the presentation of the birthday cake, sparkling wine, chocolate covered strawberries etc. was beautiful. My partner actually started "happy dancing" before the staff had left the room. We enjoyed the fireplace every evening, and coffee on the balcony each morning, taking in the amazing mountain views. I can't even describe the view from the bed each morning through the window. We dined at the Cedar Room, as we have before. Once again, a phenomenal meal. Carlos Correa (the sommelier) was exceptional. His educated suggestions were absolutely on-point and it was a meal that Jenn and I will talk about for many years. We spent a day at the Nordic Spa. The spa manager Georgia Sloan and her staff consistently endeavor to engage the guests and ensure they're looked after. The couples massage, spa amenities, and food and beverage quality were fantastic, and made for an enjoyable day. We look forward to returning and making the PLML a regular destination whenever we need a break from life to recharge our batteries.

We absolutely should have been notified that a new roof was being worked on from 9 am until 6 pm every weekday! Thankfully, we arrived on a Sunday for our 3 day stay. I inquired about the roof as we saw evidence of work. They immediately upgraded us to a spacious loft king with 2 bathrooms. It still did not make up for the incessant noise! The lobby is also is very noisy with the bar and many guests. As hikers, we were able to get out…but…when we wanted quiet it was no where to be had. thThe room was also quite cool…64-66 degrees! No heat in September. Parking for free was a challenge to hunt down a spot! On the plus side, the lovely couple who run the market were lovely and caring. The manager offered us breakfast once for our troubles…or to move us at 3:30 when we were leaving the next day! Seriously? Eventually I accepted a token discount for the three nights. Absolutely not the kind of experience I would wish on anyone. I would have preferred to stay in Canmore and drive down to hike! Cannot recommend.

I had to keep asking myself, what qualifies a hotel to become part of the Marriott Autograph Collection? The towels in the bathroom were frayed, we had wash cloths when we checked in, but after that, I was told they ran out of them. The housekeeper kept leaving multiple bottles of body lotion instead of conditioner and when I went to the front desk, I was told their shipment of conditioner had not arrived. On the third day, I went to order a medium sized coffee only to be told that they had run out of medium cups and had to order a large or small coffee. I worked in hotels during the early part of my career, I couldn't help but think there is a serious management problem along with a money problem. After having dinner, we decided that we would have a s'more for dessert. I joked about how that we were paying a $35 per night resort fee and we should be taking advantage of what was included in the fee only to find that although the ingredients to make a s'more were set out but the fire had gone out and there wasn't anyone around to restart the fire. What exactly was the resort fee for? Although the room was nice, sleep quality was low. I stayed there five nights and the sheets weren't changed once. I had to call the desk due to a dog barking non-stop for over an hour a few rooms away. Sounds from neighboring rooms was easily heard and when the neighbors were up, we were up. Although it is called Kananaskis village, the village is the hotel. I found the food options to be overpriced and lacking quality. After dining at the hotel, I started to drive to Canmore to eat.

My wife planned our summer trip to Alberta starting at the Pomeroy. The facility was very nice with plenty of good dining options and the room was great. Despite a large number of guests, there was very little crowding around the property -though self-parking was tight. Staff were very friendly and the food was very good for the price. Our fav was the burger & truffle fries at Blacktail bar-one of the best burgers we’ve had. As for location, the lodge is away from any tourist sites, which is great for us!! Great trails for walking/hiking/biking on site & numerous trails at all levels within a 30 min drive. Again, despite being a popular tourist area, we had no issues with crowds. Overall, if ur looking for a quiet outdoor experience with very good facilities & food, this is the place.

This hotel visit was one of the worst I've ever had. We stayed there as part of Backroad. Our room was DIRECTLY below roofing construction that was taking place during the day. We arrived after lunch and for the next few hours, I couldn't even hear myself thinking. I have pictures and videos of the workers above us throwing stuff in the dumpster below. I have pictures of nails on the floor. And that's not the least of it. I ordered a filet mignon for dinner and I am absolutely positive it was not a filet. I have a picture of it and the grains of the meat are thick and go the wrong direction that you would normally see in a filet. It was tough and not tender at all. The spa pool area was right next to major construction that was taking place as well, so we had no desire to go to it since it was so noisy. All in all, a major disappointment relative to what we expected from this place and from a Marriott property. P.S. I tried to load the pictures, but they wouldn't accept my HEIC format from my phone.

We've just returned from a 3 night stay at this beautiful property. Every employee we encountered was very helpful and kind (with a special shout out to Kunal who helped us retrieve a lost item in the lobby). The room was spacious with a balcony with wonderful views, a very comfortable bed and pillows, and a Nespresso coffee machine and pods. This property would be great for kids with plenty of activities and the indoor "water park". We enjoyed the large hot tub which has both indoor and outdoor sections. We ate at Forte for both breakfast and dinner and the wait staff was excellent and the food good. We weren't there long enough to enjoy all of the activities that they have but we did enjoy the live music and S'mores outside one evening followed by a walk on the trail around the property. If you're looking for a place to stay in the Canadian Rockies with stellar service and amazing views all around, this is your hotel!
