JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo

I did a lot of research for Sapporo luxury hotels and this hotel was rated #1 on tripadvisor and I cannot for the life of me understand why. The lobby is very nice but as soon as you step into the rooms it is very dated. Needs a complete remodel...

I did a lot of research for Sapporo luxury hotels and this hotel was rated #1 on tripadvisor and I cannot for the life of me understand why. The lobby is very nice but as soon as you step into the rooms it is very dated. Needs a complete remodel in all rooms. My husband and I even opted for a suite and lets just say that it was below any luxury standards. Small bathroom, beds as hard as a rock and towels that were not soft at all. Please make sure you dont stay at this property if you are looking for anything nice.

Great location. Easy access to Sapporo Station and shopping center. Onsen is a nice addition. Spring for the corner room for a great city view! The breakfast pkg is also good with both Western and Japanese breakfasts. Only drawback is the lack of a fitness center….the staff are very helpful...

Starting with the obvious, the location of the hotel, above Sapporo train station, can't be beat. There are two subway lines underneath, connected by a shopping mall that allows you to walk to the Susukino area without stepping foot outside. We stayed in a Corner Room, which is a good size. Our rate included breakfast, and there's a choice of western buffet or japanese breakfast. We tried both, and the buffet was a much better deal. It has many japanese items as well. There is a 7-Eleven right around the corner for added convenience. The staff speaks very limited English but they do try hard to be helpful. I'd say they are proactive and observant, as one day a huge group of tourists arrived and they quickly ushered us to a waiting elevator so we didn't have to wait behind them.

The hotel is conveniently located next to the main train station, and the high floor rooms have beautiful views of the city and mountains. While we often stay at hotels in the $350/n range, this one doesn’t hold up to that value for a few reasons. The bathrooms are finished like they are in a hospital (seriously, it’s off-putting), and despite having a tower, the property does not have a lounge. You need to wait for a table in the restaurant to order a drink. The concierge and bell staff are very helpful and professional,,,some of the front desk personnel project an unfriendly demeanor, which is uncharacteristic for quality Japanese hotel.

Booked from USA. Stayed two nights. Wonderful location, connected to Sapporo Station. Right next to mall and food options. Has bar/restaurant on 35th floor and Japanese restaurant as well. Booked from USA. Stayed two nights. Wonderful location, connected to Sapporo Station. Right next to mall and food options. Has bar/restaurant on 35th floor and Japanese restaurant as well. Bed was really good and comfortable. Views were great. Rooms are small, though this is Japan. Bathroom was awesome, great water pressure and heat, robes, slippers and amenities. Toilet was killer as well; made by Toto (say no more). Only knock is sound of trains, yet just check for room in opposite side and it’s fine. Enjoy!

This is a great hotel. Very conveniently connected to the trains and subway. The hotel is nice and clean. Rooms are small but the norm for Japanese hotels. There are many amenities in the room. The most impressive aspect is the staff. They are so polite and attentive. Our concierge Ms Harada was the best concierge we ever had. She was able to get us reservations for dinner and gave us great advice. We want to return in the spring and hope to see them all again.

Very nice, large (600 odd rooms) and pricey Okura Nikko hotel in great Sapporo location for train access. Room sizes vary a lot even across the same price levels. Very handy 7/11 at bottom of hotel external elevator. Many good restaurants on level 6F of station complex - much cheaper...

Likely the nicest hotel to stay in while in Sapporo City. Very convenient with tons of shopping, restaurants and bars nearby. Biggest disappointment was the bar at the top of the hotel was closed and that is one of the things we were looking forward to. Didn't get a chance to experience the onsen in the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful but that is fairly usual in Japan. Will stay there again on next visit to Sapporo.

A tower hotel collocated with the main train station and a myriad of underground shopping and dining options. The elevator stops at floors 1, 6, and 22 to 36. Guest rooms go from 22 or 23 to 34, with restaurants and other uses above. Service is outstanding. We stayed in a corner deluxe twin with a superb view of the city. The room also featured a separate shower and tub in a wet room ala Japanese onsen style. Housekeeping was super and once we pressed a button in our room before going out, the room was always ready upon our return.

The JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo is a luxury hotel of the Okura Hotel Group, and is very conveniently located in the JR Sapporo station. The hotel has 342 rooms on the 23rd to the 34th floors of the JR Tower. The 35th floor consists of the Sky J restaurant/bar (buffet), and the Tancho Japanese restaurant. The Lobby Lounge is the first floor lounge where you can have High Tea and desserts at 1 pm along with light meals at lunch and dinner until 7:30. Accommodations are very nice, with comfortable beds, air conditioning, Japanese style separate bath wash area and tub and amenities, bidet toilet, flat screen TV, wi-fi and LAN connections, sofa, refrigerator, trouser presser, safe deposit box, and much more. Spectacular views from rooms and the 35th floor. There is a spa on the 22nd floor"Pulau Bulan" complete with hot spring, jacuzzi, sauna, relaxation area and other services like massage, hair and esthetic salons. Staff is friendly and terrific in customer service from the bell staff to the front desk staff, to the housekeeping staff, and to the food and beverage staff-all are customer service oriented. The food quality and quantity is very good. It was a very pleasant stay.
