We stayed 4 nights in an Executive Suite over Christmas. The hotel is well located near the falls and the town centre. We were impressed with the design of the hotel, quality of food and friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Our suite was spacious and well-appointed and we were glad we had spent the extra and taken this option as we found we used the lounge area a good deal. We would recommend this hotel, it is 5 minutes walk from Victoria Falls Hotel and about 10 minutes from entrance to Falls. We found Victoria Falls to be safe and apart from the occasional person trying to sell you a wooden animal then tourists we free to wander round.

3 nights spent here as part of a longer trip. A warm welcome by friendly staff helping us to settle in quickly. They provide bug spray but also treat the grounds for mosquito. Large comfortable bed and very large bathroom with shower. Lovely towels and bed linen. The pool area is small and would be crowded at peak time but we didn't visit Victoria falls for a poolside holiday. The short drive to the falls is a must see. The bar is under the supervision of Basil who is a gentleman and knows how to look after his guests. Dinner was lovely, reasonable choice and beautifully presented. Breakfast is cooked to order as well as cold options. The huge pots of tea were appreciated. One small criticism - We asked several times about changing larger dollar bills for small for tips without success. Finally we were advised to go to the bank, 100m away to get changed. I'm sure that the hotel could provide this service to save guests the hassle and being harassed by hawkers on the way to the bank. The property is spotless and well placed to enjoy all that Victoria falls has to offer.

Wi-fi barely works in the room. This is not okay in this day and age and for the price of this stay
Staff, room and restaurant are very good. Pool could use updating. Did not expect very loud guests in pool area. I took out a star because wi-if is very poor in the room. Only works in restaurant or lobby. This is pathetic given that this stay is very pricey.

Hippos just beyond our patio!! A-ma-zing!! Excellent location, walking distance to the Falls, the town, and the ziplines (cafe and viewing area if you're not brave enough to participate!). Shout out to Lucky (always smiling) and our kind waitress, Michelle.
We got two great das in the house. The style, the ambience and the food is delicious. We really can recommend it.
Lovely staff, very clean rooms and facilities, beautiful grounds and wild animals.

This lodge was more than we could have imagined. We stayed for 4 nights and are sad to leave. The staff are extremely friendly and will do anything to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast is fabulous. Selection of juices, tea/coffee, yogurt, fruit, cereals, pastries and you have a hot breakfast menu which you can alter however to your liking. If they have it, they will do it for you. The lunch and dinners are beautifully presented and tasting. Poolside and room service also available. Two pools - a big one and a smaller one. Not heated of course but the African sun is so hot the coolness is refreshing. The rooms are beautiful and have everything you need (except a hairdryer). I had my own so no big deal for me. And now the location! So close to everything you need to do here. Banks, souvenir shops and a supermarket not too far away. Everything we did we had a transfer and they were fantastic. They helped us through the border processes when necessary. You can see the mist rising off Victoria Falls and the lodge looks out to luscious green grass which continues into the dryness of the national park which attracts the wild animals. Whilst we were there we saw many animals that came onto this green grass and into the park. These are right out the the front of the rooms, eating areas and pools. Hippopotamus, elephant, baboons, mongoose, spotted bushbucks, warthogs & buffalo. A truly amazing place!

Probabaly the nicest place we have ever stayed! One thing was no power outlet in either of the bathrooms. We had a luxury suite (#69) and it was fantastic! Fruit, champagne, assorted treats on arrival. HUGE balcony, luxurious bed, sheets and down duvet, fully stocked mini bar for use until it was gone. Two pools and a bar area. Sumptuous breakfast which was included with our stay. Dinner was excellent and very reasonable. Couldn’t get the ceiling fan to work, but may have been decommissioned when AC was put in both rooms. Ensuite was HUGE! with beautiful tub and shower. Location was perfect and very close to Victoria Falls and some good restaurants. Also just around the corner were many artisan shops. But found out that the stone artists set fires every day (usually between 6 am and 6 pm) to use for their stonework. This made for very unpleasant smoke from the end of the 1st hotel building all the way down to the end of the 2nd building. Couldn’t even sleep with the patio doors open it was so unpleasant. Hippos came one night and were right under our balcony (right up to the patios of the rooms on the ground level! — but don’t risk going out to take pics!). Great info all around about Dr David Livingstone. Very interesting! A very classy and luxurious hotel!

Fantastic location within walking distance to the Falls. Decor of common area and our room was beautiful. We had a 2nd floor unit (room 68) that was perched over the grounds which provided amazing wildlife sightings of Elephants and Warthogs from our spacious deck. Pool area, bar and dining area are beautiful and the staff so attentive. We were here during high water at Falls which we could hear, be ready to also hear all the helicopter tours overhead, but that affects all local hotels. Note, the USD is the local currency of which you can get from multiple ATMs a block away.

Ilala is an excellent place to stay. Everything is top quality in that place. The location is also the best you can have in Victoria Falls : just 10 min walk to the Falls and 5 min to the city where one can enjoy the different shops and art galleries. Ilala has a sister lodge on the Zambesi river where you can go to enjoy a totally different atmosphere. A free shuttle will be organised by the hotel to go there.

As a couple we stayed two nights whilst visiting the Falls. The welcome was friendly and the room very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Our breakfast and dinner meals were delicious. We booked a couple of activities and the staff were excellent. Ilala Lodge has a relaxed vibe and a bonus was watching bushbuck, warthogs, elephant, and hippos wander the garden at night. This gave a very exciting start to our trip in Africa. The Lodge is less than two km from Victoria Falls and spray in the distance makes a lovely sight during the day. Ilala Lodge was booked for us by an agent and we were very happy with her choice, and highly recommend.

We were staying at the sister hotel and went to this place for dinner one evening. We were late for our booking by nearly 30 minutes which I do like doing but they looked after us well. We were sat outside and could hear the falls and the service was faultless. I had the impala shank and my better half had the ostrich and apart from the fact there was a little too much food, the dishes were fantastic. We still managed a dessert. Really nice setting for a really nice meal.
