Our eighth visit to Hyatt Ziva Cancun was another exceptional experience, with a particular highlight being the unforgettable six-course omakase dinner at Moongate. Chef Gabriel truly outdid himself, crafting a culinary masterpiece that catered perfectly to our preferences. Moongate has been a favorite since our first visit in 2018, and Chef Gabriel, along with Sergio and Hector, consistently deliver personalized service that is unmatched. My husband was thrilled with his custom ribeye sushi roll and the introduction to new flavors. While Moongate excelled, we were disappointed with the drinks at Habaneros, which lacked their usual quality and tasted like straight pours. We also missed the non-breaded crispy wings at Tres Cervezas, a past favorite. However, the overall experience at Ziva remains outstanding. We've witnessed many positive changes since our first visit. A special thank you to Fernando, our bellboy/concierge, for his consistently warm welcome and exceptional service, particularly when we needed our key reactivated. Ziva's commitment to 'Service from the heart' is evident, and building these lasting relationships with staff is a testament to their dedication. We highly recommend Moongate and look forward to our next visit.

Just got back from 3 nights at Hyatt Ziva Cancun with my husband—no kids this time! Since it was a short trip, we decided to stick to the Hotel Zone, but in hindsight, I wish we had done Secrets Playa Blanca instead for less. We probably overpaid for the Turquoise upgrade on top of the exorbitant amount of points we used, but honestly, it was worth it. Our oceanfront room was clean, massive, had double sinks, and a jacuzzi on the balcony. Plus, it came with butler service, which was a great touch. Our butler was fantastic—she got us everything we needed and more. Housekeeping was good too, though unfortunately, they threw away one of my medications on the last night, which was really upsetting. Thankfully, it wasn’t life-threatening, and since we were leaving the next day, I didn’t push for a replacement. Food & Drinks The food overall was pretty amazing—highlights were the fish tacos at Habaneros and literally everything at La Bastille. I definitely preferred the food here over Ziva Punta Cana, but we’ll be back there in 18 days with the kids, so I’ll have a more recent comparison soon! The only real miss was the maki at Moongate—it was bad. We ended up leaving and heading to Lorenzo’s for pizza instead. Beach & Pools We didn’t use the main pools much, opting for the beach instead and taking breaks at Punta Vista. My husband loved Punta Vista—especially the Mezcal selections and their very generous doubles. Beach Cabana Issue One issue I wanted to mention so others are aware—our experience renting a beach cabana. On our second rental day, the cabana next to us was unrented until noon, when a family of TEN showed up. Our server immediately gave me a look like “oh boy.” I discreetly asked her if the max occupancy was four, and she confirmed that it was. Now, I wouldn’t have cared if it was five or six people, but ten was a lot, especially given the limited space in that area. I asked if we could be moved, but both the manager and pool manager said no other cabanas were available. When I questioned the max being four, the manager admitted they knowingly rented it to them because they wanted two cabanas, but only one was available. Their “solution” was allowing them to stay but limiting their service to four people. It was clear they just wanted to make the money and didn’t care about the guest experience—at least not the guests who had already paid. By 1:30 PM, I probably should have asked for a refund and just gone to Punta Vista, but I specifically wanted the beach, so I decided to just get over it. That said, as the day went on, it became obvious that I would have had more chill and privacy just grabbing a pool chair instead. I wasn’t the only one visibly annoyed either—it was clear that the situation was frustrating more than just me At checkout, the manager conveniently came to speak with me five minutes before my transportation arrived and apologized for the medication situation and offered to replace it, (really?! We leave in 2 min). She also mentioned “giving me points” but never specified how many and I had to leave in 2 min so she said she would email me, but surprise—no follow-up yet. I have emailed them twice since and no response. Totally ghosted. Overall, Ziva Cancun had a lot of great moments (Punta Vista, drinks, ocean, food, turquoise room benefits) but the way they handle issues rubbed me the wrong way. They go out of their way to apologize and appear responsive, but they don’t actually do anything to fix the problem. At least, not yet. If they don’t email me back I won’t return and will spend my money elsewhere.

We just visited Hyatt Ziva Cancun for the fourth time. Another great trip to paradise. We tried this resort because of one of the waiters, Oliver. We met him years ago at another resort and he suggested we give this resort a try once he started working there. Oliver is truly the best pool waiter! Always serves you with a smile. The staff at this resort goes above and beyond. Every single person greets you. Make sure you tip the staff. They work so hard and deserve it. We have tried every restaurant and we were very pleased with the variety and flavor of food. I have to give a shout out to one of the waiters at Tradewind restaurant. Eleazar was great! He went above and beyond to make our dinner special. We have only been home a few days and we are ready to go back. Looking forward to next year.

Have just returned from an amazing 7 days in Mexico at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun. We had great weather and the food, entertainment and staff at the resort were all top notch. Our barista Jose loved doing different latte art each day. My trip was in coordination with FVE. Fitness Vacation Exchange. So I taught a morning 10AM Reformer Pilates Class in the Resort's Sky Gym reformer room, and 6pm evening yoga class pool side each day. Wonderful - playing in the ocean, soaking up some sun and watching sunrises and sunsets. I can't wait to return.
