Overall had a great experience! Had no trouble getting chairs by the pool each day, did not feel like we had to wake up at 6am to grab chairs like we have had to do at other resorts! We did end up getting a cabana our last 2 days to celebrate a birthday, which were also great, but space at the pool was no trouble! We were pleased with the food for an all inclusive resort, absolutely loved the sushi bar! Staff was pleasant, but I wanted to give a shout out to Denisa at the buffet and Lola’s! She was very friendly, personable, and welcoming each day! Transportation with Amstar was simple, made our arrival and departure very smooth. One warning, take the staff seriously when they warn you about locking your balcony door! We had 2 instances of coatis entering our room through the balcony, one in the middle of the night because our latch was truly broken. Despite this, the staff was quick to resolve the issue and repair our lock. Overall we had a great experience!

It is perfect in size, they are always entertaining you with tastings, exercise classes, games, shows, the list goes on. Again the staff is hard working and are the most friendly people to deal with. You will never hear me stop bragging about this resort, I look forward to booking with them again. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay the best!

I have been to many VERY large resorts, and my husband and I liked this one because it was smaller and more intimate. The resort was beautiful as was the beach. You can walk miles in each direction on the beach. The restaurants were great, and the service was impeccable.

In one food station they repeat the same dishes at both sides. No olive oil and salad dressing in breakfast and lunch. The restaurants A la Carte, are very basic. The hotel isn't worth it for the money you pay. It's a shame with the good service of the staff. P.S. For the Communication staff at hotel, Please do not reply with a formal answer and wishing to come back, just SOLVE the problems, Umbrellas at the beach, Dinner food at Buffet, Improve quality in Restaurants a la Carte.

Second time back to this resort and everything was once again excellent! If you’re looking for a smaller boutique resort this is the perfect place! This property is a former secrets resort so similar amenities in the rooms with large upscale walk in rain showers, comfortable mattresses and bedding. The pool view swim out is perfect! Really no need to play the “chair game” as you have your own oasis and because of its proximity you can enjoy the entertainment and the wait staff bring drinks right to your swim out! Also, if you choose to join in the fun in the main pool, bonus, your room is as close or closer than the public pool restrooms! Dining options are fewer than some of the bigger reports but still ample choices with large enough offerings that even though you may eat at the same place twice you’ll be glad to try the different menu options! Breakfast buffet is outstanding, especially the omelette bar! Drinks are great, no complaints there. Staff are all very kind and helpful, I wish I could recall names but every single waiter/waitress, bartender from the pool to the lobby bar to each restaurant was attentive and very eager to meet your needs/wants. The entertainment team (Sandy, Miguel, Juan, Ana, Daniel) are lots of fun and offer daily water aerobics, sand volleyball, poolside trivia, etc. Evening shows are good, maybe not as impressive as the Secrets resorts we’ve stayed at but still well done! Silent party and karaoke nights were especially fun! If you’re looking for a wild party this is not your spot, average guest age ranges from 30-60 year old fun loving folks but not the “foam party drunk” crowd so if that’s what you’re looking for move along ;) but if you’re wanting a clean, moderately upscale, relaxing but yet fun vacation without the daily traipsing a mile to get to the pool or food this is an excellent option! From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of amazing. The service and cleanliness were impeccable, making this birthday trip truly special. A huge thank you to Dante at guest services for helping make this celebration unforgettable. We highly recommend booking a cabana with a romantic dinner on the beach—an experience not to be missed! Dante’s genuine approach, without any pushy upselling, was a refreshing touch that made our vacation even more enjoyable. A special shoutout to Alicia for making everything seamless from check-in to check-out and for upgrading us to a stunning ocean-view room—such a thoughtful touch that made our birthday getaway even more memorable! For those who haven’t been here before, be sure to save a pool chair early—either before breakfast or while catching the sunrise—because they go fast! The resort also offers fun activities at the restaurants, with something for everyone to enjoy. At the restaurants, be sure to ask for Edgar, the sommelier. He guided us through an incredible wine selection at Capri Grille, the Italian restaurant. We’re especially grateful to him for letting us know about the Mardi Gras dinner by the pool, which allowed us to have front-row seats to the show just by purchasing a bottle of wine—such a great tip! And our server, Adan, was exceptional—his knowledge, hospitality, and service truly elevated our dining experience. We also want to thank the resort for being so accommodating with food allergies—I have quite a few, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. A special shoutout to the always-smiling hostess at Lola Beach, who remembered me from the beginning of the trip until the very end—it’s those personal touches that make all the difference! Additionally, we did a photoshoot with Adventure Photos, a third-party company associated with the hotel, and had an amazing experience. Keri, our photographer, made us feel completely comfortable and was very accommodating. The shoot was quick, only 30-40 minutes, and reasonably priced. Best of all, we received our photos just a few hours later, which I absolutely loved! This was a birthday trip to remember, and we can’t wait to return! *the only thing we did not absolutely love was the sushi restaurant. The sushi bar was messy and incomplete. Confused why we needed a reservation. Lola Beach, Snack Bar, Italian Restaurant and the Buffet all amazing!

We are here at the resort now, our last day.  We've traveled a lot, including staying at many all-inclusives. In the past 10 years: Secrets Silversands (no longer exists), Hyatt Zilara Cancun, The Beloved (twice), Valentin and Excellence Playa Mujeres (plus Secrets in Cabo).  Unfortunately this is the worst resort we've been at.  25 years ago I stayed in my very first all-inclusive (Copacabana, which I think used to be where the Valentin is now). Back then all inclusives were sort of new and known to have cheap food, bad drinks and just a kind of cheesy fake atmosphere. I feel like I've been transported back to that time except  I paid 10 times as much for a very cheap experience from the 90s. First the positives: 1. The staff for the most part is very nice.  We had an oceanfront room which came with a butler and she was very helpful and nice. The beach staff is great (but it can take 45 mins to an hour to get your drink) 2. The view is very pretty and the beach was crowded but nice and clean. They work hard to keep it clean. The negatives: 1. We booked this resort because so many reviews said it was quiet with an older crowd. There are some older people here,  but mostly large groups of younger people looking to party. Maybe it's college kids on spring break (we usually go in January). The music at the pool started at 10am and in our room sounded like a dance club with pounding bass. It feels very 'MTV Spring Break' vibe. You can hear pounding bass all over the resort. We also were woken up at 1am by people screaming in our building partying in their room/balcony. 2. The rooms are very plain. We paid extra for an oceanfront which would have been great at another resort but here is not worth it. View is nice. But we are in the south building on 2nd floor and it's LOUD. I mean our room was shaking this morning at 10am. You can hear the sports bar DJ in our room till 1am also, and we are at the end of the building. The north building may be quiet as it's farther from all that.  We emailed in advance for that but they never read our request. When we got here they said no.  It seems they cater to Impressions members and those with Hyatt status. 3. The drinks are pretty bad. We've talked to others who said they were the worst drinks they've had. All resorts water down drinks but these just taste cheap.  I ordered just a pour of amaretto and it tasted like plastic? They don't seem to know how to make drinks here. The bartenders at night at the lobby bar were good though.  I had a good chocolate martini. 4.  They use the cheapest ingredients for food.  Even the ham for omelets looked like spam???  Very odd. 5.  We had to rent a cabana both days to get any chair in the shade (unless you want to be up at 6am). $99 day on a weekend.   And we could only get the small beach cabana as others were booked (again we even tried to call in advance of our stay to book and they wouldn't help us).  The 'shade' barely covers the cabana. Again, a cheap experience for what you pay. The 2nd day we saw people just given cabanas for free even though we paid for ours. 6.  Again, the music is WAY too loud for this small of a resort. They had huge speakers up at the pool at 10am with dance music blaring. Even at the Excellence which is large they didn't do that. Also the people next to us at the beach brought their own speaker and had music up. Small things: 1. We had to wait to get into the buffet breakfast. Not a big deal but literally have never experienced that at a resort in 20 years. 2. The mini bar has 2 small bags of chips and a tiny bag of peanuts. Just cheap for a 'luxury' all inclusive. 3. The chairs at the lobby bar are so short. I'm 5'3" and I couldn't comfortably put my arms on the bar. We thought that was amusing. 4. All the furniture, cabanas, tile, etc looks old, dirty and beat up.  The floor in our room has a huge crack that goes across the entire room (foundation issue?). Overall I feel this resort needs to shut down and gut the entire place and remodel.  It's not at all worth what you pay.  We are wishing we had paid a little more for a much better experience elsewhere.  Since this property is so small, I feel they would be best remodeling as a boutique resort like the Beloved (which is always full, nicer and cheaper!). As it is we will never come back here again and I hate to say but I'm looking forward to leaving tomorrow.  We actually almost just left today and forfeited our last night. That's how not relaxing this is. I do regret paying what we did for this place (and I got a discount as i work in the travel industry). If you want to party, don't care about food quality or drinks come here you will hate a great time.  We will go back to Beloved and rent the entire top floor of the building (Owners Suite) for cheaper than what we paid here.

My husband and I chose our stay for 5 nights at Hyatt Zilara Rivera Maya. We had the ocean view room which was very nice. Our check in process was very simple & we were greeted with cold champagne which was very pleasant especially after a 40 minute ride from Cancun International Airport. Our room was not ready so we were able to get lunch at the pool restaurant which we ate at every day. The breakfast buffet has a large variety of omelets made to order, breads, fruits, assorted pastries & gluten free options. The coffee shop was an added bonus where you are able to grab a cup of americano or cappuccino anytime of the day. They also have mini sandwiches, cookies & Delicious gelato. It was my favorite go to during the day. Dinner at Capri was fantastic. Raciel was an exceptional waiter. Room was cleaned daily however they don’t do turn down service which would’ve been nice. The only downside was the gym. It was very, very dark. For a gym facility it should be well lit. Equipment was a little rickety too. All in all we had a nice time and would return especially in February when the weather is perfect.

We had a great time here. We stayed in a private pool room that was walking distance to the beach. We had butler service from Sofia who made our dinner reservations, arranged excursions, taxis into town, made arrangements to get our friend a birthday gift delivered in their room, and overall just made our stay perfect! The beach waitstaff stopped by our pool and made sure our drinks were always full. All of them were great! The hotel had great food at all the restaurants. The beds were comfortable with two types pillows, soft and firm for you. Our mini bar was refilled everyday. We asked for extra water to stay hydrated and we never ran out. When we didn’t want to leave our beautiful room we order room service on the app and it was delivered 30-45 minutes later. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to go back for our next vacation.

This mid-sized resort is a beautiful facility in a marvelous part of the world. All the staff gives a friendly greeting. The food and drinks were very good. We especially liked the Capri restaurant. The two workers in the coffee shop in the morning really enjoyed providing treats for the guests who came for something special. Sofia, our butler, and Grace in VIP Services could not have been more gracious and helpful. Our next visit to this resort cannot come soon enough.

This was our third time here and we had a wonderful time! In 2013, when the resort was Secrets Capri, we came for our honeymoon, and returned in 2023 with family from abroad. That time, the resort was Hyatt, and we were quite impressed, so we returned this year, to celebrate a milestone birthday. Whereas the resort itself is not perfect, the staff is what makes it stand out, as everyone delivers the highest customer service. Before we even arrived, Iona (pre-arrival concierge) helped us book a romantic dinner on my birthday, and paved the way, so to speak, to a great customer experience. Once we arrived, the staff made our check-in a smooth and easy experience. Since we arrived prior to 3 PM, we were nonetheless welcomed to eat even before we knew our room number. When we got in, the room was very clean, and we really enjoyed the new furnishings (the remodel occurred a few years ago, right before or 2023 trip, giving the rooms a clean, modern look) and the view. The food was really great throughout our entire stay, and we particularly loved the Italian dining experience at Capri, which is a super elegant, romantic environment, matched by the exquisite food. Here we enjoyed a five course meal that tested amazing, and was served with equally amazing customer service. In the mornings, we ate at the buffet, where the food selection was different (and delicious) every time - and Salome, one of the servers there, was outstanding in his service every time (we were lucky to be in his area most of the time we ate there). The most wonderful meal, was our romantic dinner at the gazebo, where Miguel (our server) and Erin (the sommelier) pretty much pampered us throughout the entire dinner. The food was absolutely amazing, as was the privacy and beauty of the dining location. Thanks to Iona and her concierge colleague Yasin, I was also pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff who came with a slice of birthday cake, candle, and champagne - to the cabana they provided for my special day, singing me Happy Birthday. Additionally, when we went to the room, the bed was decorated with red petal roses, and the room looked festive with balloons and more cake :-) That, too, was a wonderful surprise and it added to my day being one of the most special birthdays ever! The entertainment was also great, we enjoyed every show - our most favorite being the guitar player at the garden, as she delivered an unforgettable performance - in an elegant setting. Another evening to remember! Overall, we had a wonderful time and plan to return as soon as possible!

We just returned from a week's stay at this resort and still love the place. This was our second consecutive trip here. Normally we stay at Secrets and Sandals but after the amazing first time stay last year we headed back - no disappointments at all. The other resorts are pricing themselves out of our comfort zone for a week away. Enrique was our go to guy at the Tempest Japanese restaurant (was our favorite place to eat & were there for more than half the meals) he should be in management- what a great employee the Hyatt folks have in him. ALL the staff at the Coco Cafe started our mornings off on the right foot. The entire resort staff here all seem to genuinely care about their jobs, workplace and customers & much the same as last year will make this an option for us when plan our next trip. Facilities, beach, rooms, food everything was very good! Recommend this place to all!
