What can I say … the most amazing vacation experience ever. Casa de la Playa is 5 stars for a reason. The service is 24/7 non stop from private butlers ( a big shout out to Memo and Laura) and the drivers, I wish I could remember all of them , Jesus, Elliot, Renaldo are where you want to gather information about all the sights to see and what to do if you choose to leave the beautiful property which you may not. Don’t miss the aquarium, brunch at Cavas? In the Mexico hotel which is only on Sundays and the restaurant Mercado San Juan in Arte restaurant. Both a 2 minute drive. The food is great, fresh everywhere but I did find the restaurants at Playa having some items I wouldn’t try.. grasshoppers with insect salt anyone? Room service has an excellent menu and available 24/7. I could go on and on obviously. Book and I promise it will be the vacation of a lifetime. Bring lots of ones and 5’s . Tips are not expected or required but are very much appreciated. Butlers are usually tipped 25 a day, each and we tipped the drivers and beach bartender and Daniel the wonderful lobby bartender. Just answers to questions I had that I couldn’t find. I’m still missing a jetted bubble bath in the lava tub every night. This vacation you will remember forever!

We recently spent a long weekend at the hotel, and here's a breakdown of our experience at room #2405: The Good: The hotel boasts excellent restaurants and great bars. They offer fancy transportation to any destination you wish. The parks and pools are fantastic and enjoyable. The Less Good: After many hours of flying, we arrived at the hotel only to be given a dirty room that smelled of mold. It took two hours for them to find us another room. The second room we were assigned, #2405, was notorious. It’s located under the pool machines, so we endured constant noise at 50-60 dB, which is far above the acceptable noise level of 35 dB for hotel rooms. When we complained about the noise, the butler casually mentioned that this issue was well-known. They offered to turn off the machines if we wished to stay in the room, but every time we asked, the hotel manager insisted that there was no way to do so and that the machines wouldn’t be turned off. On the last night, desperate from the ongoing issue, they finally offered to move us to another room. However, by then, we had already lost patience. Conclusion: The price does not justify the quality of the rooms. We were deeply disappointed by our stay. The staff, including the butler and hotel manager, were unhelpful and dishonest, which added to the frustration. There are other hotels in the area at a similar price point or even cheaper that offer a far better experience. Warning: Stay away from room #2405.

My partner and I have stayed at a lot of hotels and resorts and it is not an exaggeration to say this resort is one of the few that truly lived up to expectations. We stayed for five nights and wished we could have stayed longer. This resort is perfect for people looking to truly relax. If you want to never leave the resort and just spend your days going from the pools to the beach it’s amazing. If you want to take advantage of the included tours and experiences you won’t be disappointed. We choose to take advantage of the Xpeleo tour at Xplor park. We were picked up in the AM and brought to the park before they opened for a private cave excursion with two guides and a safety life guard. It was the single most impressive and special tour we have ever done on vacation. Our butlers for the stay were Laura and Memo. I can’t say enough about them. Both of them impressed with their attention to detail and their ability to respond quickly to any requests or issues we had. On our first day Laura handled an issue with our room and came up with a solution that got us into a new room as quick as possible. Memo surprised us one evening when we messaged him our dinner plans at the Arte resort next door but arrived to the restaurant without a reservation to find no tables available. Totally our fault. A few minutes later the manager came over and found us outside and brought us to a table. Memo made a call without us asking and handled it. That’s the kind of service you can except from a resort of this caliber. We will count the days until we can return. Longer stay next time!

If you are looking for a luxury romantic getaway with your partner, this is the perfect place. We were amazed by the design of the lobby and layout of the suites. The staff are friendly, attentive, and courteous. We were paired with concierge team of Laura and Memo who attended to our every beck and call throughout our stay and enhanced our stay tremendously. The food is incredible. So many of the restaurants offer tasting menus to offer a broad experience and the wait staff does an excellent job explaining/guiding the culinary journeys. They have a Michelin starred restaurant at Xcaret Mexico resort that is INCLUDED in the all inclusive food pricing (gratuity not included) and phenomenal. The resort restaurants are also delicious and in room dining has superb options and service. The hotel is modern and new. Everything is clean and well attended. The gym is fully outfitted with modern and fully functional equipment. Clean towels and sports drinks/water are available. Because the resort is so small, there is almost zero competition for machines. There is no chair saving B.S. Chairs at the beach or multiple pools are comfortable and well attended to by staff. You don't have to worry about placing towels to reserve anything at the crack of dawn because availability is plentiful. One thing I would warn you about is the traffic on the way to the airport on departure day. Expect it to take about 1.5 to 2 hours from resort to airport drop off and plan accordingly if you like to have plenty of time to get checked in.

Also, the ability to walk right over to Xcaret Arte and Xcaret Mexico was great. However, our room was so nice and comfortable that I must admit that we relaxed and ordered the incredible room service quite a bit. I’d like to give a special shout to David and Memo, our two awesome butlers. Any request was filled nearly instantly. Also, Jesus and Armando, drivers we used, made us feel right at home as well. In fact, what stands out is that everyone was so great - the service really contributes to making La Casa De La Playa truly a special place. Thank you!

Casa de La Playa is the best resort my wife and I have ever visited. We stayed here in July 2022, marking our first trip during/post-COVID. Originally planned as a babymoon, this getaway was delayed due to the pandemic, but, it was absolutely worth the wait. From the moment we arrived at the lobby, Casa de La Playa set a flawless tone. This boutique hotel exudes sophistication & warmth, & the highest level of personalized attention from the staff. The Suite Experience Our suite was perfect, an ideal blend of elegance & comfort, with breathtaking views. The room’s decor, featured artwork by renowned Mexican artists, added a unique touch that felt both luxurious & culturally immersive. The icing on the cake? The room service. Not only was it impeccable, but you could order directly from any of the hotel’s exceptional restaurants. The Culinary Masterpiece Casa de La Playa’s dining options are a culinary journey in themselves. Tucha de Luna & Lumbre were fantastic, but my absolute favorite was Estero. The flavors, the presentation, the ambiance, everything was exquisite. (I even wrote a separate review for Estero because it deserved its own spotlight!) The Chocolatería was another highlight, a candy boutique led by master chocolatier and designer Mao Montiel. It’s a delightful tribute to one of the Maya’s most treasured gifts to the world: cacao. Wine lovers will appreciate CAVA, which features an exclusive selection of Mexican and international wines. The resort even has its own label, adding a special touch to the experience. Unmatched Amenities The infinity pool was a slice of heaven. Swimming toward the horizon through the 40-meter waterway with a view of the Caribbean Sea is an experience I’ll never forget. Another standout perk? Guests at Casa de La Playa have access to Hotel Xcaret Arte & Xcaret México. The resort makes it easy by providing transportation in their Teslas, because, of course, every detail is top-tier. Final Thoughts Casa de La Playa delivers an experience that’s luxurious, intimate, & unforgettable. From the impeccable service to the stunning design, from world-class dining to unparalleled amenities, this resort truly has it all. My wife & I can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a boutique hotel that will exceed every expectation, Casa de La Playa is it.

My wife and I spent 5 nights at La Casa De La Playa for anniversary this November and it was one of the best vacations we’ve ever taken. This was one of the most beautiful resorts we’ve ever visited—and it was amazing how the rooms, amenities, and common spaces were designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature. The culinary experiences were also unparalleled (both at the included neighboring resort restaurants and especially at the La Casa De La Playa exclusive restaurants). The highlight of the trip was service provided by the La Casa De La Playa staff, especially our butlers Guillermo and Silvia. The entire staff was warm and welcoming but Guillermo (Memo) anticipated our every need and went above and beyond (from surprises in the room to arranging a guided tequila tasting) to ensure our stay was unforgettable. We can’t recommend this resort enough and we will definitely be returning soon!

This was our third visit in three years to La Casa de la Playa and it did not disappoint. One of the strongest attributes of this boutique resort is its consistent attention to service and detail. We began this trip with emails with Nicole in guest services - she graciously helped me make dining reservations and confirm transportation - always answering my questions or requests for changes the same day I sent them. We were greeted at the airport by our driver Augusto who was charming and engaging. He welcomed us back and even knew it was our third visit without us telling him that. We arrived at the resort and our request for a corner room was granted with a smile. The rest of our week there went off without a hitch - our butler team Celeste and Abraham met every one of our requests promptly and efficiently. They helped us with dining reservations, transportation and scheduling art classes at the resort next door -- mostly in the most unobtrusive way possible with whatsapp texts. There are 63 rooms at this hotel but it never feels like it. I am not sure where all of the people go - but you can always find a chair by the pool and the restaurants never feel crowded. We did not have a bad meal the entire week. We went to Centli once and Lumbre twice - our waiter was Gustavo for all three visits. Gustavo was incredibly knowledgeable and also remembered all of our likes/dislikes each time we visited. He was the consummate host and did a great job guiding us through our meal options and creating a relaxing dinner experience. We revisited Ha over at Arte (the larger resort next door) and really liked the new menu. We had been in 2022 and thought the menu was a bit too fussy for us and the portions were all miniscule. After seeing great reviews, we decided to try it again and were pleased to find a really well balanced, interesting meal that did not leave us looking to order room service after we left. The Monday night beach dinner was a lovely experience; we dined on the beach with the waves crashing nearby. The food was good, especially the sides that they serve. The Omakase meal at Tah Xido was amazing as it was in the past. It is a free benefit for La Casa guests and a lot of fun to experience a huge range of sushi. Morning breakfasts at Tuch de Luna were consistently good -- nice range of menu options plus a small buffet. The food at the pool and sky bar was solid -- and they are happy to bring you whatever you want, even if it is not on the menu. We also went to the Sunday brunch at Las Cuevas next door - another free benefit. It was quite the spectacle and a great way to sample many local traditional foods. The room was maintained beautifully, housekeeping always managed to come by when we were out to make up the room and to turn it down each evening and leave us small gifts. Many days they also surprised us with treats like a bottle of champagne and chocolates or a bottle of mezcal and some accompaniments. Because they knew we were celebrating our anniversary, they decorated our room one evening to commemorate the event. This year it seemed like they had even more live music scattered around the resort. Each evening they had a very talented pianist in the lobby playing covers. At breakfast, they rotated music each day - a harpist one day, a guitarist/oboe combo the next, etc. Again, so much attention to all of the little details that impact the guest experience. The large resorts next door are a five minute walk away down a special path and through a very secure door way. You can walk over and sample whatever you would like - art classes, kayaking, the night club and then walk back "home" when you are ready. It really is the best of both worlds. My only criticism in my review last year was that the beach did not have chairs - only mats under umbrellas. I am pleased to report that the resort now has padded chairs on the beach. This was a huge improvement. We loved the quiet of the beach and Santos did a great job making sure everyone has drinks and food there. We love to try out new resorts but La Casa de la Playa has earned a place in our hearts and we will likely return next year to visit our home away from home in Mexico.
