We stayed in a King Room far from the check in desk. $204 plus tax is a little too much for me. But I had to pay for convenience. Handicap parking is limited. Rooms are very clean and bedding comfortable. Room has a fridge but no microwave. We opted to stay here as we were attending a venue at The Stuart Auditorium. Staff is very friendly. I was somewhat annoyed as there is an automatic charge of $15 for incidentals. Taken off bill if not used. Buffet breakfast was satisfying. Overall we had very pleasant stay.

Pleasant stay, beautiful views.
Peaceful, beautiful, relaxing accommodation. The views are beautiful and the hotel is very clean and quiet. A large area with seating and a pleasant fireplace makes a delightful place to meet family and friends.. Across the way is a coffee shop and gift shop
Rundown and poorly maintained rooms, avoid at all costs
The good news is the the staff was nice, the common areas are well done and well maintained, and the coffee was great (although only available in the lobby from 6-9am and the dining room (7-9am). That's it for the "nice things." The guest rooms are uniformly small, rundown, and...
The good news is the the staff was nice, the common areas are well done and well maintained, and the coffee was great (although only available in the lobby from 6-9am and the dining room (7-9am). That's it for the "nice things." The guest rooms are uniformly small, rundown, and poorly lit (increasing their dingness). The beds (we had two double beds in ours, as do most rooms) took up most of the room and needed the mattresses replaced or at least rotated. It was difficult to not roll off onto the floor. The bathroom has only the toilet and bathtub/shower. The bathroom exhaust didn't work. The vanity and sink are in the room. Limited number of plugs in the room. There was "no maid service" despite that fact that we were here for 10 days. There was a system for exchanging towels, but nothing for TP or coffee (I raided the maid's cart). The combination air conditioner and heater worked intermittenly, but only if you monkeyed around with the thermostat, and when I was able to get it to work, it would only run until it shut off. To get it to start up, you had to monkey around with the thermostat. This made for some extra chilly mornings. I reported problem to front desk. Nice people, but nothing happened. The sheer curtains in the room's windows are so old they had sun bleached badly and had 3 rotted tears, each 1 to 2 feet long (and this was on the north side of the hotel, away from the sun!). Breakfast (included with most stays) is hit or miss. The dining room is only open for breakfast from 7-9am and is self-serve from a buffet steam table. the breakfast quality depends on whether there is a large group holding a conference/convention. If there are a lot of people in residence, it is fine. If there isn't a group in residence, breakfast isn't good ... to the point of the steam table not being turned on and the food being cold by 730am. The breakfast selection without a conference/convention in residence is **very** limited. Another reviewer suggested tearing the entore hotel down and rebuilding. I think that's a little drastic. Gutting and replacing all the rooms and upgrading the dinng facility is all this place needs. I doubt we will ever stay here in the future. There are too many other choices in the nearby towns.

I really don’t understand the complaints of some of the other reviewers about this hotel. It is really clean, the room is comfortable, everything works as it should, the bed and sofa are comfortable, the air is cold, the Wi-Fi is strong and works well, the staff is extra friendly and helpful, the room is quiet even though the hotel is full, and the view of the lake and the mountain backdrop is spectacular. Is this an older hotel that has been remodeled? Sure it is. So what, it’s nice and clean. It is a good place to stay while you visit Waynesville, Maggie Valley, GSMNP, or even Asheville. Or, you could just stay right here. There’s plenty to do right around this lake.

The hotel is so clean. The views are breath taking if you have a lake side room or go out on the porch. The back rooms have an ugly view that's what we had. Just a hill. The beds are are not very comfortable. That is the only downfall. The employees are so friendly. The breakfast due to covid wasn't great, but it was breakfast. They could have stopped it all together, so I'm grateful for what they did have. Plus the lady working was wonderful. I will hopefully return one day.
