HOTEL RIU TIKIDA GARDEN

I really do not want to criticise this hotel but unfortunately our visit was not quite up to our expectations / its certainly NOT up to the standards of 4 STAR hotel The hotel does run a shuttle mini bus into the City this must be booked well in advance....

I really do not want to criticise this hotel but unfortunately our visit was not quite up to our expectations / its certainly NOT up to the standards of 4 STAR hotel The hotel does run a shuttle mini bus into the City this must be booked well in advance. For us the location which is a good 15- 20 min trip to the main square and runs only on the hour from 10am to 4pm last bus returns to the hotel @ 16:45 , if you want to go out in the evening you need to take taxi. Personally if you want to explore Marrakech I'd book a hotel closer to the city The Food was very repetitive and cold there was not much selection and would often be the same each day. The waiting staff needs to be up skilled - they seem to spend more time either chatting or bickering amongst themselves Hand sanitisers are positioned by doors but are empty. Where the hotel fails miserably is the Drinks and Entertainment Drinks- the worst drinks I have ever tasted absolutely awful. The Beer wines and spirits are all local brands - terrible…. No branded or imported wines beers or spirits are available even at a supplement !! It's a Shame that not one pools of the 4 pools was heated during our visit the temperatures ranged from 13 -20 degrees the pools were to cold to use the poolside furniture was not moved or covered in the evenings we had several nights of rain and the poolside mattresses were soggy. There is a poolside bar servicing 4 pools with No waiter service, be prepared for a walk. The beds are very hard and very uncomfortable bed linen and towels are old and shabby - locks on bathroom door did not work No bathrobes in the rooms TV very limited - 1 /2 English channels no Movies stations available even at cost The Entertainment was shocking this is held in the main hotel in a bar call Zanzibar which finished @11pm the entertainment mainly consisted of a - quiz/bingo/karaoke/disco! No quite areas for guests who did not want to join in the so-called entertainment. Had we have not been in the middle of nowhere we would have gone out every night. There are several cats that roam through the hotel & gardens and they have left a strong odour in the hotel foyer Loved Marrakesh but would avoid this hotel

We've returned from this hotel on Tuesday Firstly I want to say the hotel is very good. It's clean ,the pool areas are lovely and the staff are great. So why the 'poor' rating ? 2 days before we came home I took ill and my wife became ill on the day we departed. We also heard other people saying they had been ill and a previous reviewer, who must have been at the hotel the same week as us also mentions people being ill We arrived home 4 days ago and we are both still really unwell. I have reported this to TUI and what we believe is the issue . The waiting staff in the buffet restaurants are incredibly friendly,but overly so and are not following proper hygiene practices I'm all for good service but kissing people, hugging, high fiving and shaking hands with everyone who walks in to the restaurant then getting you cutlery ,drinks etc without washing their hands is spreading germs everywhere. As its a buffet you then spread any germs when you handle the serving utensils. Birds flying around inside the restaurant whilst you are eating don't help either ! Hand sanitisers are positioned by doors but are empty. I've asked TUI to contact the hotel regarding this but obviously have no idea if they have and I expect the hotel will claim all the staff are trained and follow basic procedures, but they don't It's a really nice hotel , the entertainment is terrible but the food is good, the grounds and pool areas are beautiful but the staff need to be advised to follow correct hygiene procedures before more people become really ill

Me and my wife recently stayed at Tikida Gardens in Marrakech, and while the hotel had a lot of positives, there were also some key areas that let it down. The Good: The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning Moroccan décor that adds to the charm. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with daily housekeeping ensuring everything was fresh. The beds were very comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. The staff were fantastic, always friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. Especially those in the restaurants, the two Mohameds and Habeb they were so helpful and always had our drinks ready. TUI Reps & Activities: The TUI reps, Ayyub and Chelsea, were really informative and helpful throughout the stay. They put on some great free activities, including a Tagine-making class and a Moroccan tea-making session, both of which were enjoyable and insightful. There were also other activities and fitness classes available, though I didn’t participate in those. The only point I would say about the entertainment is the band that they had playing played the same music when they came back the following week. Food & Dining – A Major Letdown: One of the biggest disappointments was the food. The buffet lacked variety, serving tagine every night with the same flavors, which became repetitive. Having made a tagine in a cooking class, I know it can be much better than what was offered here. Lunches were basic and quite tasteless. Even the à la carte restaurant was simply the buffet food served to you, which was underwhelming. Pools – Freezing Cold: The outdoor pools were freezing, with absolutely no heating—not even in the jacuzzi, which was really disappointing. While the indoor pool offered a warmer option, you ideally want to be outside when on holiday. If they heated the outdoor pools, it would make a massive difference to the experience. Gym, Indoor Pool & Spa: The gym was a highlight—well-equipped, with everything you need, including a fully stocked water fridge. The staff member, Syed, was incredibly helpful and made sure guests had a great experience. However, the opening hours were frustrating; the gym is only open from 10:00 to 17:30, which clashes with prime sunbathing time. As an early riser, I would have loved earlier access. The indoor pool was a good alternative since the outdoor pools were too cold, but it’s not the same as relaxing by a warm pool outside. The spa offered good treatments at reasonable prices, though be prepared for a very firm massage—it’s not for the faint-hearted! Other Notes: There are photographers on-site, including Mochine, who takes great photos capturing the amazing backdrops and sunset. He was very friendly and a pleasent guy, told us about the prices up front. Final Verdict: While the hotel has a lot going for it in terms of ambiance, comfort, and service, the poor food, freezing outdoor pools, and restrictive gym hours were significant enough drawbacks that I wouldn’t stay here again. If these issues were addressed, it could easily be a 5-star experience, but as it stands, I’d look elsewhere.

We had the most amazing week in this hotel. The hotel was calm during the day and was very easy to get a sun lounger. We utilised the shuttle to the city a couple times during our stay which was great. Amine and Mohammed provided the best service!!

Tried massage,book for 20 mins and I think it was about 12 minutes so this is something to consider about.

The evening entertainment (if you could call it that) was a joke bingo and karaoke twice a week , one evening we were told it was their white evening asked to wear white clothing then nothing happened apart from music being played . This is the worst Tui hotel we have ever stayed in for entertainment . We won't be returning.

Pros: pool areas are immaculate, gardens are lovely, staff are friendly and waiters/waitresses work extremely hard to keep your glasses full. Decor in restaurants, bars, lobby is nice. There are tables next to the lifts with books on for people to take & swap. Abdul was fab!! Cons: food very samey samey every day. Forever running out of glasses in the restaurant at lunchtime. Beds were rock solid. Rooms very noisy, could hear everything happening outside the room. Considering it was an adults only hotel it was like having teenagers running up & down the corridors at 2am. A few times I used the toilets near the restaurant before lunch, numerous people would be in there and nobody would ever was their hands. They would then walk into lunch and handle all the same serving spoons. Totally gross, use the hand sanitiser, no wonder people were getting ill. Nothing to do with the food, just other people’s bad hygiene. The bar for drinks is random, unless you sit at the 2 pools near it, it’s a bit of a trek for a tiny plastic cup. I’d take a larger refillable cup, especially if using the quiet pool. Overall we had a nice holiday, however I don’t think I would return. Prepare yourself for Marrakech airport, it’s not for the faint hearted!! Also we booked hot air balloon - amazing experience!

I would highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. It's so pretty and clean and the waitors are really helpful and friendly. The food is also really good and my boyfriend is a chef so harder to please than others! The rooms are clean and you have everything you need at all times. Beds are pretty comfy. The only thing that I think needs improving is the hairdryers are usually abit dodgy and the shower gel isn't the best. Love this place we have come before and would come again! Shout out to Mohammed in the restaurant, Abdul and Abder and Hussain behind the bar all great people and fun to be around.

First time visit to Marrakesh. The Hotel was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The Staff were so friendly and the Tui Reps Chelsea and Amy were outstandingly helpful and very attentive. The Pools were cold. However there is an adequate indoor Heated Pool which we used. We also visited Mohammed’s shop on the left 50 yards from the hotel. He was very friendly and helpful never pushy. We bought 5 Fridge Markets from him for 40 Dirhams £3.20. In the shop in the hotel they are 60 Dirhams Each. We were going to book a Balloon flight however on reading the conditions it states if you have heart problems to avoid. I have stents fitted 6 years ago so decided against it. My wife and I had a 50 minute Massage at the Spa. 500 Dirhams £40 each. One of the waiters ABDUL he took us under his wing for a week. He was very friendly never asking for any money. Although we did tip him as we felt he went above and beyond. We got the 10am free bus into Marrakesh. We got lost in the Souks as I’m sure everyone does but that was fun. I learned 5/6 Arabic words which helped. Easy to google them. We got a taxi back as we would have never have found the bus to get the return. We paid 100 dirhams £8 in the taxi. At night it’s 150 Dirhams. They will charge more but barter agree the price before getting in the taxi. We would go back again to Morocco probably visit Agadir. Absolutely excellent hotel Lovely settings 98% of staff are amazing Mohamed, Yusuf (senior) & Yusuf (junior) are a credit to the place. Chief is also. Unfortunately the alcohol is like watered down water (if possible) & the other 5% of staff are stupid. All week at snack bar time u were allowed to sit in restaurant until last day when we nipped in after being out walking all day, we grabbed a couple of sausages to make a sandwich, we sat at a dirty table (there was lots of dirty tables & was ordered by a young waitress to sit outside which is actually what we wanted to do but every table was full, we explained this to her but she didn’t get it & she got quite aggressive when I after 4 times of telling her there where no tables and the signs stated on restaurant doors that you are not allowed to take food outside of restaurant so not sure where she expected us to go. Also at night it is very very hot inside the bar where the entertainment is on & we danced etc every night & joined in with the entertainment trying to get people evolved & up dancing etc which you think the hotel would like ? so we were all hot & sweating and used to try pinning a door open but because one big African lady who just sat on her phone all night complained she was cold (???) the reception staff would come & close it & not let u open it to cool down, he didn’t care that half the hotel was dripping in sweat as long as 23 stone Mary was ok, why bother having entertainment if no one can get involved because it’s to hot

Third visit to Morocco, won't be in a hurry to return!

Stayed 7th February to 18th February: Recently returned home from our second stay at this RIU hotel and will be booking a return holiday soon. From the very moment we came into view of the hotel we knew our stay at the hotel is all taken care off. Speedy check in by reception staff, very professional and experienced in dealing with any questions, enquiries or requests in any language, all staff are fluent in over five languages. TUI reps on standby to further assist in reception, Porters just waiting for you to be checked in and get your room card before they load your cases and take you directly to your room, all done. If you want an honest review on this wonderful hotel, just read on. Your rooms are cleaned every single day, fresh towels each day and often, flower petals laid out on your bed. Surrounding gardens: These are visually the best and most well-maintained gardens of any RIU hotel we have stayed in, the team of dedicated gardens have made it an absolute pleasure to walk around, we usually enjoy this after breakfast, please don’t miss out on the walk behind the swim up pool rooms on the way to the spa facility’s including the gym and indoor pool area. Pools: These pools are very Instagram-able, cleaned every single morning including the sunlounge areas and beds by a fabulous hard-working team who are always greeting you with a friendly smile and keeping on top of the pool area`s throughout the day. Restaurants: Firstly, there are two main restaurants and, one speciality dining restaurant with a different menu (this one should be booked in advance; it’s never been an issue on booking during our two holidays here). We have always found the quality and quantity of the food excellent, very varied menu`s which caters for all needs. During our stays. Salads, fruit, pizza`s, bread`s and homemade soups remain plentiful, fresh and very tasty, the mains are fantastic, including lots of traditional dishes cooked and served in tagines, you will often see other diners putting a little bit of everything on their plate as, they cannot make up their mind which main to commit to. The mains remain hot and plentiful and, are continually replaced by the kitchen staff, don’t miss any of the gala nights, they are so worth attending. The deserts are on a different level, my wife truly looks forward to this part of the meal, and never misses out on this experience. One of the most popular and busy chefs in the morning is the one who cooks the omelettes at breakfast, always fresh and cooked to order just how you would like it. Secondly, the restaurant staff are excellent, on entering any of the restaurants, you are greeted by staff (always smiling) who will introduce themselves and guide you to any table you wish to be seated at, they will take your drinks order and return to your table with them, staff remain observant and will always ask if want another drink, if they see you glass running low, if you don’t wish to have another drink, they are perfectly happy to move to the next table. Periodically, you will observe the main chef`s leave the kitchen and make themselves visible in the dining areas, they are available for you to make any enquiries over any of your deity or culinary needs. We have often been involved in discussions with other holiday makers, including vegans and pescatarians on the excellent diverse menus on offer. Bars: The main large bar is located near the reception area, there is a smaller outdoor bar at the top end of the main pool area. Staff are very quick to remember your name and your favourite drink, the main bar is split into two serving points, staff will beckon you over to one of these if, the other one is looking busy. Quality of drinks is fine, I have never known the beer to be flat, most cocktails are made to order however, the pina colada`s and strawberry Dakari start as mocktails in the liquid ice roundabouts, then staff make up the cocktail with the levels of alcohol to meet your taste, my wife highly recommends the pina colada. Spirits are above decent including the brandy, whisky and gin and the mixers are real, not sugar based. TUI reps: Always on hand to answer any questions including points and places of interest in Marrakesh and, the best way of getting there including taxi or the hotel shuttle (free of charge). There is a lot to explore outside the hotel, do yourself a favour and take a look. Reps are constantly busy and get you engaged in themed nights, plenty of fun to be had if, you’re up for it. Tips: Upgrade to one of the swim up pools, you won’t be disappointed. Download the TUI BLUE app on arrival, it provides all the information you need on what is happening

First time to Morocco and we definitely chose the right hotel. The rooms were a good size and very clean , plenty of choice for food in restaurants although sometimes breakfast service was chaotic and you got very little chance of finding a tea spoon!. Service in Zanzibar was very good and the staff all work well as a team Great on site TUI team with lots of activities including cooking demo and health & beauty demo. Spa very good and reasonable pricing, highly recommend a Hamman on first day to make sure you get a good tan! Hotel in middle of nowhere so can not go out for walks but we did our research before and knew this so could not understand other guests moaning about it! Book Hotel shuttle day before as you can always cancel it but very hard to get a place on the day going into Medina before afternoon. Book your excursions through Get my Guide ( download the app) 75% cheaper and going on same excursion that TUI guests are on! TIP; if you like to make a hot drink in room pack a couple of mugs/cups as you only get glass shot glasses in room. We would recommend this hotel for a relaxing break.

Just returned from a two week trip here and here’s my honest review. 1. Food is decent enough for an all inclusive, always something different on offer. We went out every other night so was nice enough. 2. Entertainment is ok but not like other RIUs with the big parties - it’s probably aimed for the 40 plus range - karaoke, quiz, bingo, good laugh etc 3 .Drinks are bog standard, I opted for white rum and pineapple - or Vodka lemonade and a dash of grenadine 4. Pools - super clean, cleaned everyday. 5. You do have to get down for about 9.30 to secure a bed 6. Mohammad’s shop next to the resort, cheap for cigarettes, red bull, crisps and excursions 7. Staff are super helpful, welcoming and friendly 8. LGBTQ friendly

The food, for an all-inclusive, was excellent. Overall, the staff were very accommodating. The public areas, both inside and out were kept continuously clean. And the hotel security was good. The hotel was a bit far from the centre in an area typically Moroccan giving the feel of the real Marrakesh! The shuttle to the medina could have a greater capacity and/or frequency as you had to book at least 2 days in advance to be certain of a place on the bus! Also the Hi-tech 'TV in the mirror' isn't easy to watch when it's light in the room, and more English-speaking channels and streaming services would be great! Overall though, a really good stay at the hotel.
