This is a lovely hotel. These are reasons: - It is SPOTLESSLY clean. The cleaning and room staff work so hard, all the time! They even vacuum the sides of the sofas in the foyer! The attention to detail is impressive. - The food is just lovely. There's plenty of choice and the quality is very good. The dining area is spacious but doesn't feel too busy. - Best of all are the hotel staff - they are all absolutely fantastic - they are ALL friendly and helpful all the time. The only downside is the town of Maspalomas which is a very dark and seedy place. There are sex clubs, strip clubs, gay bars etc. Maspalomas is in no way a family destination. Basically we stayed in the hotel or went away from Maspalomas which worked well.

Perfectly located, good food and great atmosphere. Only improvement point would be the early morning ‘towel reservation of sunbeds’ by the hotel guests…

This hotel is amazing, from the welcome drink upon arrival, the lovely rooms, the staff are so friendly and so helpful (especially Flores), the tasty food and how relaxing it is there. The evening entertainment was very good. The resident kitties who sleep in the reception area 😻😻 My only niggle is, we had room 024, which had a great size terrace with a small table and two reclining chairs on. It would've been perfect if it had a sun lounger or two on, as it had more than enough room. Unfortunately I can't say the same about Maspalomas. It's looking very old and tired 🫤

Fabulously clean and wonderful staff. Breakfasts ok but dinners in the “specialty” restaurants just grim, bizarre and just plain bad (see picture, not even sure what this was supposed to be), please don’t waste an evening there, ugh. Dinners in buffet restaurant passable for mass catering but don’t go expecting 5*. Oh, a very quick google search will give you the master combination to unlock the in-room safe if you begrudge paying. Other than the two spotlessly clean pools and spa/gym there is NOTHING to do in the hotel so bring plenty of books and extra phone battery packs

The recent renovation has created an even more spectacular place to spend a holiday. Another restaurant has been added to the main dining room and the Krystal Restaurant in the main hotel --" The Oasis" overlooks the spectacular sand dunes and is beach side. We used it several times for lunch and for dinner. You need to reserve 4 days ahead for dinner as its very popular. Internally the hotel is top quality in every aspect. The level of service from the staff at Reception, in the bars and dining areas is first class. The rooms are well appointed and the shower room is spacious and the shower is spectacular - again the room service is unbeatable. The dining room is busy, of course, because it's a grand hotel but the choice of dishes is almost bewildering -- there is something to suit every palate with an array of main dishes with several chefs serving meat courses. Breakfast and Dinner can be taken inside or on the terraces and the terraces have numerous gas heaters so you are never uncomfortable. The Wine List is extensive and not over expensive. The atmosphere is also excellent and the guests dress respectfully -- no shorts and tee shirts for dinner. Table service is very friendly and efficient. The entertainment amazed us -- every night we were treated to top class acts.. Pre dinner there was light music to accompany drinks on the terrace via artistes on the al fresco stage and later the main stage featured top quality acts. The atmosphere was vibrant every evening. As you would expect the two pools have plenty of sun beds and Balinese beds -- there was absolutely no reserving of beds which you see at the majority of holiday hotels. Again waiter service is very good -- unintrusive and friendly. Being so close to the spectacular sand dunes the hotel has plenty of visitors passing through its central archway through to the beach which adds to the vibrancy of the atmosphere surrounding the Riu Palace. We were also impressed with the management -- the Front desk always had three or four staff on hand -- the Manager's door was always open and she acknowledged her guests regularly. Must not forget to mention the welcoming Doorman who never stops smiling.

Our second visit to the hotel and a second review. The hotel definitely didn't disappoint. We were given a fabulous room overlooking the breathtaking Maspalomas dunes. Sunrise before breakfast and sunshine until late afternoon. Food was again exceptional in particular the range of fruit and vegetables. It was my wife's birthday on the day of arrival and it was acknowledged at both reception and with cava and fruit in our room, which was a nice touch. Many guests have returned over the years and there are staff who have been there for long periods. It was good to see familiar staff from our stay last year including the manager who is very approachable and helpful with any questions about the hotel.
