I booked this room for one night after making a mistake with my travel dates to Paris and realizing I was short a hotel for my first night. This hotel was very pricy- over 450 Euros for one night for one of the simpler rooms- but I figured hey, it’s just one night and why not. Check in was fast and easy, our room was ready right away. I thought the room would be bigger, but nonetheless it was nice and I loved the windows on either side. Unfortunately we were so tired from our overnight flight and the time change that we slept most of our stay. We were not able to see the rooftop or the dining area. The lobby of the hotel was very nice and clean, and I loved the clear glass elevator. The best part was that the Arc de Triumph was right down the block. When we finally woke up it was closed, but we were still able to walk around it which was nice. The Eiffel Tower and YSL museum are also within walking distance. I would say this is in a prime location for many activities and the staff is friendly and courteous.

Very attentive and friendly staff; fairly large room; excellent bed; excellent breakfast. Roof terrace is lovely, though didn't get to use in cool Sept. But this old lady needs some refurbishment. E.g., 1 chair had springs that were completely gone; couldn't sit in it. Two lights out on ceiling fixture. Biggest lack overall -- no real salon! Just a few chairs and couches facing the corridor on the rez-de-chaussee floor. I doubt that can be remedied without major reconstruction. Not quite enough value for lot of $$$.

We went there for a romantic trip but it turned into a horrible trip. We checked in at 9:30 am and first the recepion man took an amount as a deposit but I never saw the amount (600€). After that, he told us to check in around 3pm but we waited until 3:20 until the room was ready. When finally we could get into our room (409) the shower was not working good, warm water turned into cold water and vice versa. Furthermore the water kept blocked into the shower and one towel was dirty. Also I had ordered flowers and a note for my girlfriend and it was not in the room. In adition, the room was super noisy. Of course we claimed for this because it can not happen in a 5* hotel. They offer us to move to another room for one night, and then move again to our room. We agreed it. The room was so nice, with terrace and good views (5th floor). The next morning we moved to our room, we checked the shower and the problem was still there. There was no solution they told us. Of course we did not want to move anymore but it's not nice from the team. It's a shame that our romantic trip became so complicated. Finally, I can not recommend this hotel.

This hotel has incredibly spacious rooms - ours had a view of the Eiffel Tower and a bottle of champagne on ice by the window. It felt old school Paris in the best possible way - I don’t need to go to France for austere minimalism. We had lovely draperies, beautiful bedding and a flowers on arrival. In an age when one often finds rooms with just showers, this hotel had a huge marble bathtub with a stained glass window in the ceiling. The bar is a dreamy red velvet cocoon - perfect for martinis - and breakfast is served in an elegant dining room with large windows. The piece de resistance is the old fashioned wooden elevator. (Having said that I didn’t see the rooftop bar as we went in February and I imagine it is lovely too.) The concierge was accommodating and helpful, as were all the staff. As for the location you are steps from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Élysées. Over the years I have learned to manage my expectations in Parisienne hotels but no longer as we will 100 per cent return to the Raphael from now on. This is a hotel for a romantic weekend, just beware: it’s so hard to leave the hotel you might not see much of Paris!

Amazing!Highly recommend this 5 star Hotel to everyone visiting Paris.
Service was excellent from every employee we interacted with. Best location in Paris. Beautiful rooms- spotless -incredible rooftop restaurant experience. Night time room turn down service defines the 5 star rating. Robes and slippers a nice touch. When I return to Paris I will stay at Hotel Raphael again!!

Wow. When people ask for the best place to stay in Paris, this will be our recommendation. The Hotel Raphael is everything you want and need in the City of Light. A beautiful, old-style Parisian opulence, with all the modern amenities one needs. The rooms are spectacular, comfortable, and very well air conditioned...the common areas are lovely, and the staff is professional, friendly, and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in their elegant restaurant, as well as glasses of champagne (coupes) in the intimate bar. The rooftop bar features spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower. The location is perfect: steps away from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Éysées, and literally yards away from a Metro station. We will definitely return.

Staff: Friendly and helpful, particulary the concierge, Taner, who went above and beyond. He went out of the way to retrieve items left behind in our haste, and made arrangements to get them to our next hotel. Food: Delicious breakfast. I heard the rooftop bar was great too but we did not get to experience that. I could not recommend this hotel enough.

I was very excited prior to our arrival as we have been trying to book this hotel in the past with no such luck and so we ended up at Majestic Hotel which was its former affiliated hotel. Majestic Hotel was gorgeous ! Loved it and we stayed there few times and were never disappointed. This time around we also had the option to go back to Majestic but opted to stay at Raphael instead. To my surprise, the hotel is OLD, dark and need a serious make-over. We stayed at rooms 405 and 406 and both are not so nice inside. Old drapes with ugly old carpet. The bathrooms are not nice and one of the toilets was broken. Nothing was worth staying here. My husband and I had a very bad vibes while inside the rooms. It felt like there were ghosts. Mirrors everywhere which was way too many and at night during the trip to the bathroom, I saw myself in the mirror in the dark and it was creepy. I almost asked the front desk to put cover on all the mirrors. We came from Hotel de Crillon few days ago and this hotel was the total opposite. We cannot see ourselves staying here again. The hotel is dark and dreary inside. I am surprised that it is labeled as 5 star. Even the restaurant at their rooftop is horrible! Overpriced and nothing was good. We had lunch and the only thing that was notable was the view of the Eiffel Tower from afar. I made a big mistake of going back for dinner. The fish was horrible! Just pan-fried with tasted like ketchup and it was 48euro. Dishes were overpriced and bland. One particular gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. He was tall and young. He helped get me get in to our room when my husband wasn’t around and I did not have our keys. I did not get his name. Another young man was Alex from the morning shift. He helped with our bags while checking out. He was very helpful and very nice. He works from 7am-7pm. He had a wonderful smile and was very accommodating.

DON’T DO IT!!! Absolutely Fraud. I love antiques, if you love Paris you appreciate antiques, junk is another thing. Unfortunately this room was full of it :( after traveling all this way, and seeing what they advertised online, we were excited to arrive. Quickly, as soon as we walked in, actually seeing how dirty the entrance rug was and the elevator, the walls and carpet I was getting more suspicious every minute. Our suspicions were right. This hotel was of fraud absolutely. NOT as advertised. Went down to speak with the front desk who clearly told us that what was on line is just for advertisement. He did not have a room similar to what they had on online available for us. We told him we would be checking out as soon as we could find another hotel. And that is what we did, highly suggest The Elysia, so cute and the staff was so helpful in making sure we had a place to stay unlike the Rafael, who didn’t care if we felt comfortable or not. Vacations are expensive and time is one of those things you cannot get back. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel. I wish I could upload the video we took, but it will not allow us to do so, so I am including screenshots from it. At the end, I also included a photo from the Elysia where we are staying. What you see is what you get with them and everyone here is so wonderful!

This is the classiest hotel in Paris, our favourite and also that of Spencer Tracy and Kate Hepburn when they were in the City. It's located just down the Avenue Kléber from the Arc de Triomphe, with Fouquet's and the Champs Elysees just round the corner, so good strolling distance to the Tuileries, Tour Eiffel, the river etc. The hotel staff are impeccable and friendly and the concierges first class. There's a rooftop terrace with views all over Paris. The hotel's dark and plush, no more so than in the 'Bar Anglais', where a glass of champagne will set you back €32. (It's not a cheap hotel.) In some respects it's curiously old-fashioned; for example there was no English TV, film channel or Netflix, but that's not really why you come to Paris, is it?

A great time was had by all
The best thing about the hotel is the staff, they are great. The bar is enjoyable, comfortable and fun. Rooms are large, well furnished, and kept clean. Location is supper, in walking distance to shopping, eating, and entertainment with many museums in walking distance. All in all top drawer.
A stunning hotel with a great history a short walk from the Arc De Triumph

We last stayed in this beautiful hotel in 2015, it was our wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty. It was my 60th birthday this past weekend, and my husband turned 60 last August. So we decided to celebrate in style. We asked for the same suite we had last time. We arrived and they weren't ready for us to check in, but they took our bags. We had a glass of champagne in their beautiful bar. We went off for lunch, and when we came back, there was a birthday message and a bottle of champagne on ice! Such a wonderful thing to do. We really had the most wonderful weekend.
