Didn’t stay at the hotel but was lucky enough to dine here. Absolutely amazing dining experience. Flavio our sommelier was so on target with his wine selection matching Chef Antonio’s meals. And the meals were superb. Love to go back and enjoy the experience again
Gorgeous hotel, would definitely stay again

My husband and I stayed here mid May 2024. We planned a 3 week trip to Italy and are so disappointed we didn’t stay in Capri longer. This was our absolute favorite hotel during our trip, We were here for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. The hotel arranged transport from the airport in Naples to the ferry there, once we arrived in Capri our luggage was transported to the hotel. We were driven to the town center where we walked the 15 min gorgeous walk to hotel. The staff was incredible! Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping and waitstaff were so professional and kind. The breakfast was very nice and included an array of different pastries and other cooked items but you also had the option of ordering from their menu. Before we went out each night we would stop by the bar where they made the most fantastic cocktails. The staff always recommended the best places to go-Capri Rooftop, Aurora, etc. I wish I could remember the exact employees name she was so helpful. Regardless they were all fabulous and we can’t wait to return to Capri and this hotel.

Fabulous stay at the top... Wrap-around outdoor terrace/patio was wonderful. A splurge, and well worth the 3 day stay... We took the advice on Fodors travel blog forum, and booked the best room where the Queen & Kennedys had stayed over the years
Beautiful hotel, with better views!

This is truly a magical hotel. The lobby and building itself are remarkable. The room we had which was a junior suite, was huge and had the largest terrace/ deck I have ever had at a hotel with beautiful sea views and mountain vista. The service was excellent from top to bottom. The pool area is beautiful, and the breakfast is hard to beat, for the service, selection and certainly the view. If you call for room service, it comes almost immediately. Drinks and food are expensive but on par with what you would expect at a 5 Star resort, which this is. The Spa and Gym are underwhelming, but serviceable. The staff are all happy to help in any and every way imaginable. The only thing I would note, and to us it was a good thing, Punta Tragara is big walk to everything. It is at least a 10 minute walk to the main part of the town. We enjoyed the walk, it is gorgeous and interesting as well as scenic. It also takes away part of the downside of Capri which are the crowds. We found the isolation to be a HUGE positive, but if walking is an issue this may not be the place for you. There were just so many small and wonderful touches, and I can't wait to return! Grazie!

The hotel is stunning. While you could take the perspective that the windy path to your room is not efficient, you'd miss the beauty in what has been built in such a unique place. Our room was amazing, much because of the view, but everything else complemented it well. Bed was heavenly, bathroom luxury, retro speaker with great sound, linens were great, and our balcony was peaceful (although the bees and seagulls had more of our breakfast we had on the terrace than we did!). Breakfast was great and the staff were even better. Pools are small but refreshing. Flow of restaurant into pool into terrace deck was really nice. Above all, we had exceptional service. We want to specifically call out Irene and Greta at the front desk who were warm and ever so helpful - made us feel like the most important people there. Thank you for a great stay. Butler service for our bags from the port was super helpful. If I have to say one thing negative, it's that it felt cheap to bag transfer as a pay service given the very significant room rates. But it was done very professionally and would have made the trek impossible without it.

This was our second year at the hotel and it is fantastic. The helpful staff, wonderful views and excellent landscaping. Breakfasts were especially good. Special thanks to Francesca, Camilla and Roberta who provided consistently excellent customer service. Highly recommended!

We kicked off our 30yr anniversary celebration in Capri, and the Punta Tragara was a winner! The hotel is in an ideal location while staying on the island. When you are arriving, I highly recommend their services for getting from the airport to ferry, and upon arriving to the island their services from the ferry to the Piazzetta. It was well worth the expenses. Their staff was kind and attentive, especially Gretta. The rooms are beautiful! If you want your days/nights special in Capri....Punta Tragara is the real deal.

Amazing room - we stayed in the art suite. Staff were lovely.hotel is lovely! Serious pigeon problem by the pool, you cannot even enjoy a drink without a pigeon jumping on your leg, I am not joking they are the bravest pigeons I have ever encountered, there is a member of staff waiting with a water bottle to spray them, it probably gets rid of them for 1.5 seconds and then they are back. It makes it very hard to relax by the pool/on sunbed as they are everywhere. Also the lobby toilet is not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. Other than these issues Hotel is wonderful.

I would have given this 5 stars except for the final night when the guests were made to feel unwelcome, as a private event was being set up. We had no problem with the area being closed from 5.30pm. But we were sitting having a drink and people were in our face and making a racket. I think when you have paid a premium for what is one of the best rooms, you deserve to be treated better - and when I mentioned it to the manager he couldn’t have cared less. What a shame as the rest of the staff was wonderful. As was the Michelin Star Le Monzu

The hotel it’s very dated , the service is not great... I didn’t feel welcomed. You pay so much and you don’t get what you pay for . The only positive about this hotel it’s the view .that’s it. We book the suite. No coffe machine in the room no water boiler . The food was nothing special,we try to book the Michelin start inside the hotel and they always say it’s fully booked, but I pass by the restaurant many times and many table was free. The pools are small . I didn’t feel the hotel was very clean,I also got a Virus during my stay (maybe from the food ? Maybe from the water ?) I took a bath (the water was smelling but I didn’t think about it )and next day I was sick with fever. The doctor came to see me the next day and told me I catch a virus and I’m pretty sure from The bath)I will never know what happened but I don’t recommend this hotel

I am pretty picky when it comes to luxury hotels ... or hotels, in general. And I can honestly say that this was one of my top 10 hotel experiences ever ... and there have been a lot. Mr. Federico, the GM and his staff were fantastic hosts and made us feel like royalty during our 48 hour stay. Most of the staff have worked at the hotel for a long time, so they are knowledgeable about not only the hotel, but Capri itself. We were assigned a room with a beautiful, completely private patio overlooking the pool, outdoor bar and ocean/mountain in the background. It was stunning ... like something out of a movie. We thought this was the best view in the property because you can see the town and the ocean/mountain in the distance. The other side has unobstructed views of the blue sea and the two big rocks, so it may be more preferred for some. These rooms will also be quieter and a bit more private, if you are sensitive to bar/pool music and noise, which you get on the pool side, however we enjoyed our view better and being able to walk directly down stairs to the pools was nice. The shower was luxurious marble and had a wonderful rain shower and large sink. Plenty of storage space and high quality towels. Slippers and bathrobes are provided and it might have been the most comfortable robe I've ever worn. The bed was a bit firm for my liking but my gf liked it as she prefers a firmer mattress. Feather pillows were soft and there was no noise from other rooms. The room design itself might be called a bit sterile ... but in a classy/modern way. It felt like a resort in Arizona to me, but fans of minimalist style will embrace it as clean and crisp design. If you want bright and vibrant colors, you won't find them ... its more of a neutral/classy vibe. The function was great ... a big closet where you can store your bags and clothes, out of the way of your room living space and a small seating area. The patio was the star of the room and where we spent the most time. It's a short walk to downtown. You will take an absolutely beautiful street lined with flowers, resorts and designer stores. Plenty of ability to explore the area too. We walked to Villa Jova (Roman ruins) one day, only to find it closed. However, there is an outdoor bar on the way back called Bar Jova. It's a bit of a hike from the hotel & downtown area but through cool residential streets with beautiful estates. The bar itself has stunning ocean panderamic views and cheap drinks. On the way back is a local grocery store called Salumeria Barbone which makes great sandwiches and has local cheese. While there are many gelato shops in town, the best is Buonocore. Long lines later in the day ... they also have wonderful pastries, etc. We ate most of our meals at the hotel. The only thing we did not enjoy at the hotel was the restaurant Monzu. It has a Michelin star but out of the 5 courses included in our menu, we did not enjoy even one and the meal took nearly 3 hours. (Nor did other guests we spoke with). The restaurant near the pool was much better and the staff and food was great there. Their bar was well-stocked. Over 150 gin brands and even Blanton's Bourbon! Everything else about the hotel was absolutely perfect! If you want true 5-star service, a friendly staff who can get you the best restaurant recommendations and insider tips and world class surroundings, I cannot imagine any other hotel in Capri being better. We would not stay anywhere else (and we passed several nearby hotels and peeked in) when in Capri. Every request was met with a smile at Punta Tragara and here you will find the 5-star service of the past, along with a modern luxury vibe of today. Everything is spotless and clean and the hotel surroundings are straight out of a movie about Italy. We will be back!

My stay at Punta Tragara left me disappointed although the hotel is ideally located and the view is amazing from most (but not all) rooms. This is is the kind of place that may be worth it if you opt for a suite and don’t mind the inflated prices… For over 1000€ per night I expected true luxury, and didn’t get it. Our first room (Deluxe) had a rather nice view but was on a lower floor and close to the place where tourists gather to look at the view…and we had noise all day until late in the evening… Also, since it was located on one of the lower floors, we had noise everytime guests above us used their bathroom…quite unpleasant in a luxury hotel. One of the electric plugs was faulty and the TV would not work, an electrician was sent to our room to take care of it, but again it’s not what you expect from such an expensive place. On the second day we half a lot of noise from another room (loud music), not the hotel’s fault and they agreed to move us to another room. The next room (Master deluxe room) was better located on one of the top floors, with a larger terrace and better view. Unfortunately the room itself lacked any personnality…it didn’t feel like Capri at all. As for the service, it’s very professional but nothing special for such an expensive place. All in all, yes it’s a beautiful place, but soulless, and it’s not worth the price (1300€ per night for a sea view room with a small terrace !)

We had visited as part of our honeymoon in September 19. It’s a very iconic hotel with a glamorous history, charming with a chic entrance hall and modernised comfortable rooms. We had a balcony with outdoor seating overlooking the pool. The sense and energy was very relaxed, low key, with lots of trees and greenery adding to the sense of privacy. The breakfast setting by the pool was spectacular, overlooking the ocean, and the food very good, with a vast and delicious selection. I do find the mornings particular captivating in Capri. The walk to the hotel from Capri town is very pretty, lined with flowers and citrus fruit trees, and takes you past several trendy high end restaurants. Conveniently the hotel sits somewhat above Da Luigi ai Faraglioni, it is quite a climb down (and back up) in the heat but the views are dramatic and spectacular. It was my second visit back to Capri and it’s as charming and timeless as I remember. It is priced accordingly!
