Yes, the suite was stunning, but at $700+ a night, and we stayed for 2 nights, Konig Ludwig should disclose the drilling construction crew and their unsightly toilets right outside your patio. They were unapologetic. The service at this 5 star resort was unacceptable. “No, you have to call a taxi yourself.” "We don’t have any spa availability.” Wait, what?! You can't accommodate us in your spa? There’s no one here in January (we ran into a masseuse at the bar with nothing to do who was shocked by that). In 2025 Das Konig has yet to translate their spa services into any other language. That’s intentional. They simply don’t care. Only Germans welcome.

Decently pretty and wonderful

Overall nice hotel. Decently pretty and wonderful, everything from amenities to service is also tip-top. I like the surrounding parts a lot, you feel kind of enclosed in a good way yet still free. I will probably be back many times in the coming years.
Good even great with a few drawbacks!

During my recent stay at this hotel, I had a mixed experience. While there are many positive aspects, there were also some drawbacks that made my stay less enjoyable. Wellness: The wellness facilities are excellent. The saunas, steam baths, and massages offer a perfect way to relax and unwind. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Indoor pool is great a nice to be in due to the heated water. Outdoor Pools in good weather: The outdoor pools are beautiful and well-maintained. On sunny days, it’s wonderful to relax and swim here. There are plenty of lounge chairs and the view is fantastic. Peacefulness: The hotel is an oasis of tranquility. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, making it ideal for a relaxing stay away from the hustle of everyday life. Beautiful contemporary reception: The reception is modern and stylishly decorated. It gives a good first impression and the design is very inviting. Friendly and professional staff: The staff is extremely friendly and professional. They do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible and are always willing to help. Spacious room: The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of space to move around freely and the decor is "modern" and functional. The beds are comfortable but pillow is too soft: The pillows are too soft and affect sleeping posture, which impacted the quality of sleep. The bathroom is well-equipped. Coffee and tea facilities are present and are replenished every day. Dinner with Half Board: Unfortunately, the dinner with half board was (very) disappointing. The five-course dinners were absolutely not to my taste. The chef attempts a type of fusion cuisine with unsuccessful flavor combinations. Even renowned chefs don't dare to combine fish and fruit, yet this chef did. The chef tries to be special but unfortunately doesn't succeed. He/she is still experimenting, which resulted in several evenings where I left the table hungry. No Air Conditioning in our room: during warm days, the room gets quite hot because there is no air conditioning. If you open the windows at night, you become the buffet for mosquitoes. Good Location for outings when bad weather: This is not a negative point, I want to mention that the hotel is well-located for outings during less favorable weather. There are several interesting destinations nearby that are easily accessible. Overall, this hotel offers great wellness facilities, a beautiful environment, and friendly staff, but the dinner with half board, the lack of air conditioning, and the soft pillows are important areas for improvement.

DKL is a very nice Hotel with outstanding facilities! The pools are great and all the facilities are modern and clean. We had the breakfast and dinner included and the food was superb as well as the service. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was ok but you could see it was a bit older. We needed a topper for the bed as it was very firm the first night. With the topper, it was comfortable. We had a small living room as well which was ok but the furniture was a bit old fashioned but still comfortable. The TV is mounted a bit high on the wall for me. You must look up to watch. My biggest minus for DKL as an American was the lack of any TV channels in English, not even one! This should be corrected. However, we enjoyed our 3 night stay very much and wold return in the future!

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. I wish we could have stayed longer! All of the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful. We arrived early and our bags were held until our room was ready. We borrowed bikes from the hotel and rode over to the main part of town for a tour of Neuschwanstein Castle. Rooms were impeccably clean and all amenities that we needed were available. A five course dinner was included and this was very good, but this did take several hours. We enjoyed music and a drink in the lounge after dinner. The breakfast was outstanding! And of course, the spa and pool areas were incredible. There are multiple co-ed saunas, steam rooms, showers, and relaxation areas as well. We enjoyed a beautiful view of the mountains while soaking in the pool. I appreciated that we were able to use the pool/spa beyond our checkout time (as our train did not depart until later), but would have benefited from a better locker room. Overall we had an excellent stay and have no complaints! While staying here you truly do feel like a King!

Will definitely come back. This place is amazing. The food, our room, the friendly welcoming service and the location were just perfect. Our Only disappointment was that we couldn’t stay longer. Highly recommend this place.
Good hotel but there is some improvement before they can called 4* resort

Stayed for 3 nights during September 2018 The rooms looks good and modern and have enough space and all have balcony. For all 3 days housekeeping didn’t fill the shower amenities and for some of the days they didn’t even change the towels, it was very clear that no one also cleaned the room in none of the days (bathroom, glasses etc.) The lobby and rest of the hotel looks kinda old and needs to be renovated in order to aligned with the modern rooms - also - I didn’t see any pictures of the old areas no where. Staff in the reception and dinning room super nice and helpful (although not everyone knows English very well) The breakfast is very rich and tasty as well as the 5 course dinner which is a nice addition to your evening. Spa and polls are nice and doesn’t feel too busy. The view from the outdoor pool is amazing! The hotel is very close to Fussen and some attractions in the area so location is great. Overall good hotel to stay in the area but way too expensive for what you get and cannot called 4* resort to my opinion...

We spent 3 nights in this wonderful located hotel. Everything excellent: room, view, spa area.... and the restaurant is just phantastic: friendly staff serves creative 5 course dishes every evening. The only con in this hotel is the reception. Is is really standard that guests need to take care how to get luggage to/from the room in a 4*+ hotel? Even telling them that we need help - it just was ignored ! Also during check out the behavior of the reception stuff was in sharp contrast to the other stuff’s in the hotel. Hope this feedback will improve things...
