My husband and I stayed for four days at Hotel Casa Fuster in Barcelona. Everything was perfect from check-in onwards. We had a beautiful suite with a fabulous view. Breakfast every morning was delicious with a superb choice. We also ate in Café Vienes -very atmospheric. What made the stay so memorable were the wonderful staff; everyone was helpful and warm from reception and concierge, breakfast, Café, doorman and room service. Please give our thanks to the wonderful concierge who secured tickets for us to Sagrada Família. We are very grateful to her.

Highly recommend Casa Fuster hotel
Great hotel in best location in town. Excellent restaurants and shopping nearby. Concierge made great dining recommendations. Quiet, lovely room and very comfortable bed. Roomy, well-appointed bathroom. Highly recommend this hotel.

Super-posh hotel in a lovely building that we booked into for our 20th wedding anniversary. Room was huge, views from the room and the rooftop terrace were great. Staff were friendly and super helpful. They even gave us a bottle of cava for our anniversary, which was very nice! Thoroughly recommend! The only negative was that the room had a vast TV, but it was not possible to link it to any of our devices, so were limited to only the channels on the TV itself, which was quite frustrating.

The hotel is absolutely lovely. The architecture is amazing. We had a lovely suite that was large and gracious with a view of the Passeig de Gracia. The location is very convenient for walking everywhere in Barcelona. There are a lot of great tapas bars within walking distance of the hotel. The service was excellent. The hotel still provides a lot of additional old word amenities like turndown service and chocolates at night. Breakfast was amazing. The piano bar in the lobby is perfect to cap off a lovely day.

Let me start with - the staff is very helpful and friendly, but we had many issues with this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights. First, the smell in the lobby and our room- ugh - overwhelming and heavy and nauseating. I needed to get 2 cups of coffee grinds to help offset the smell and cranked the AC. We almost left and went elsewhere. So if smells bother you - stay away. Second, our TV didn't work - they came to fix it on the 2nd day- very fast service - cable was unattached. Third, the shower head was very loose and didn't stay put. Water everywhere. Fixed on the 3rd day. Small bathroom- very deep bathtub that you need to walk over/into to shower. If my elderly parents stayed there, there is no way they could get in the shower. Lilly - the concierge was very helpful and sent us a bottle of red wine to apologize. Very nice. Breakfast is good, but in the basement. Gym is very small and no AC, so it was very hot. I ended up moving the weights outside to workout. Rooftop bar is very nice- great views. There are many other 5 star hotels in the area- I would check them out.

Great Location... and sky bar however do not make the mistake we did and book the top floor with a view because they placed us directly under the bar area of the sky deck with constant noise from late a.m. to late p.m.... which they did not tell us about when we checked in. they reduced our stay by one breakfast which was ridiculous based on the noise and rates charged here.... otherwise just book from the fourth floor low facing the main street...

Not 5 star by any stretch of the imagination

I will start by saying the location is excellent, but what this hotel is not, is five star. The interior is dark, dusty and in need of a revamp. We booked a junior suite (through booking.com, the hotel management admitted there is an error) - no rooms in this hotel have their own private facilities - it is a shared, very small plunge pool and our suite which overlooked a school - the noise in the morning and lunchtime, forget it if you wish to nap. There was also a function happening which the hotel did not have the courtesy to inform their paying guests, the sun loungers etc from roof terrace were out of bounds, but when I tried to discuss with Hotel Manager - his response was “it was only for 2 hours”. I’m sorry but I’m paying and should I wish to relax on roof terrace then surely that is my prerogative. Will not be back - plenty other hotels in this part of town, far more reasonably priced.

Wanting some beef, something other than tapas... we ordered burgers and beer. Upon the first bite, we knew something was bad, texture and taste was NOT good. Perhaps beef is different than the USA, but 2 or 3 bites, we were done!!! $81 dollars down the drain, do yourself a favor and do not go here!

Unfortunate return to casa FUSTER in Barcelona. This was our third visit to this property, and unfortunately will be our last. The hotel has seen better days, while the building is a masterpiece of Catalan modernism, the rooms are now old and dated, with multiple issues. Just to name a few: 1.- water out of both faucet handles came out boiling hot (as well as the toilet water when flushing. 2.- shower kept leaking, and the tub and marble top shows rust stains throughout, also getting out of the tub is really dangerous, specially if you are older )not our case) 3.- old furniture with scratches and nicks. 4.- poor lighting 5.- old tv with bad signal on multiple channels. Breakfast service is poor, and the dining room is poorly decorated with old vinyl chairs. Service is reserved and impersonal, also slow and apathetic (needed to ask for extra hangers 3 times before getting them) except for the bellboys who are cheerful and helpful. It is really a shame, it used to be one of the best in the city and the location is great. Will not be back.

Great hotel, great breakfast every morning, location was very convenient to walk to many places, especially if one is a Gaudi fan. The staff were all very friendly and our room was very spacious with a fabulous view! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in Barcelona.

Surprisingly, this building was a private residence when it was built in 1908 and has been a hotel for just 20 years. Casa Fuster is an elegant building remodeled to modern standards on the second most famous street in Barcelona. The jet black tile floor of the lobby is flanked by decorative columns and lit by chandeliers. The lobby bar has arched ceilings and hosts a weekly jazz concert on Thursday. The beautiful bar was once used as set in a Woody Allen movie. The hallways in the upper stories are shockingly dark, but our suite with a separate bedroom and living area was bright and cheerful. We enjoyed a tiny private balcony overlooking the tree-lined Passeig de Gracia. This street is home to two famous Gaudi houses and the 'block of discord'. It is also the premier shopping district of Barcelona and you can find multiple designer shops within walking distance: that's your thing. The nearby Rambla Catalunya (not the infamous La Rambla) is lined with cafes. Our bed and furnishing were modern and comfortable. Our marble bathroom contained a hot sauna which we did not use in the heat and humidity of September. Our sole complain was the deep jetted tub/shower combo which was difficult to enter and exit. The rooftop cocktail bar is a treasure. The views and quality of the drinks justify the high prices you will find here. The roof top "swimming pool" is a joke and sized for children. The staff included many English language speakers and the uniformed doormen are skilled at securing a taxi for hotel guests. Highly recommended if you enjoy being in a big European city.

A true 5-star stay at Casa Fuster. The receptionists were all incredibly kind, the bellhops helped us with bags and even offered to pull around our rental car from the Sixt (which is right next door). It was perfectly located for us, lots of bars/restaurants around but not too close to the overly-touristy areas. The terrace on the 6th floor has gorgeous views of Barcelona. The gym is well-equipped. Super comfortable beds but what really made it stand out was the service. We would definitely return.

Overall a very good 4 night city break stay. Staff friendly although reception busy on arrival and receptionist answered phone while dealing with us which I consider rude. Room (227) traditionally furnished and very clean with comfortable bed, although dark (like most hotel rooms these days - why??). Small corner balcony let in a bit of light. Nice touches - slippers, robes, toiletries, chocolates, water, tea and coffee. Huge luxury bathroom but shower over huge bath and no shower screen. Towels changed frequently. Sheets changed once during stay - not necessary but nice. Quiet apart from noise from people in corridor. Great breakfast! Would stay again.

We have just returned from five nights at this beautiful hotel. The architecture is stunning and the location could not have been better for us. Situated at the head of a Barcelona street packed with luxury brands, it stands proud & rightly so. It is surprising that it hasn’t operated as a hotel for many decades as it feels like it could tell many tales and secrets of those that have passed through its doors. . The staff add to this grandeur - giving you a feeling they have worked there for ever. Delightfully friendly and welcoming, and with old fashioned values make them a joy to be around. Our room was on the fifth floor overlooking the beautiful street below. The room was big and well equipped. The bed was huge and one if the most comfortable we have ever slept on. If we were going to be critical, it was a tad tired in places but all added to the feel of an old matriarch of a hotel. Breakfast was in the basement of the building. The ceiling in this room was utterly stunning - very gaudi esq with beautiful natural contours and painted gold. Sadly the rest of the room did not live up to this. Depressing beige corporate chairs and pale walls completely rid the room of any personality. If you hadn’t looked up you’d think you were in a chain hotel somewhere - and quite a depressing one at that!! If this room was filled with sumptuous deep colours and textiles it would be utterly glorious - as it is, it is pretty soulless and doesn’t encourage you to hang around longer than necessary. That said, breakfast was good - not amazing - but a solid 7/10 with most things you would hope to find at a buffet breakfast. The toaster probably needs replacing though - you could eat a couple of courses prior to the toast popping up!!! We only visited the bar and the roof garden once each - drinks are mega expensive which is a shame. Feels a little unnecessarily mean. Overall, would we stay again? Yes, we absolutely would. The location, the fabulous bed and the staff more than make up for the imperfections of this beautiful old girl of a hotel. Thank you to all for looking after us so well.
