Noisy. Late night party just below our room, complete with a heavy metal band. Just what you need before a 24 hour trip home. They served a great breakfast. We did not try the restaurant, but the atmosphere looked good. The rooms were good and the hotel atmosphere was better than average, but the noise and lost sleep ruined the stay.

Our arrival was not the best or what we are used to when staying at a supposedly top hotel. The receptionist was not welcoming and was quite brusque. We were not offered any help with our suitcases and had to find the room for ourselves with no one to explain...

Our arrival was not the best or what we are used to when staying at a supposedly top hotel. The receptionist was not welcoming and was quite brusque. We were not offered any help with our suitcases and had to find the room for ourselves with no one to explain the functionality of the room. We were not asked if it was our first time in Reykjavík, which it was and were not given any information about Reykjavík or Iceland, not to mention details of where breakfast was served, in fact we felt like intruders. Saying that our experience improved with other members of the reception team being much more attentive. The room was lovely, clean and warm. The breakfast was all buffet and was adequate but not exceptional in any way. The tables were not cleared between different dishes and were still stacked on the table when we left. The hotel is in a good location but there is certainly room for improvement.

We loved our stay at this hotel. So luxurious for a good price, central to everything and easy to park nearby. The quality of the room was top notch with comfy bed and great shower. Balcony was a lovely touch staff were great. We used the spa and for the price it’s well worth the money. Would love to come back

The service and rooms are fine but... the club music and noise outside is so loud, you cannot even think about falling asleep until 2:30am when they close. We stayed for 3 nights with another couple. Our rooms faced different sides of the hotel and both were equally noisy. This is a great location for walking and shopping but definitely not sleeping! Additionally, there is no air conditioning or fan noise to help drown it out. We will stay elsewhere next time.
