The heart of Munich at its best : location, spacious room, spa and pool with incredible view on to the Frauenkirche. Top
In the heart of Munich, best shops at walking distance, beautiful designed and spacious deluxe rooms and all that with an outstanding breakfast. Pool on the roof is worth the visit, Frauenkirche is just there. We have to go back, it certainly sets the standard up high

Stayed here recently during Oktoberfest. I understand that Munich is crazy busy this time of year, but that did not excuse the totally dark and dreary room with possibly the worst lighting of any hotel I’ve ever stayed, the institutional breakfast spread on the sixth floor, and the housekeeping that thought the best time of day to service our room was at 4:30 in the afternoon, even though we had been out all day. The rooftop bar is in an odd location—through the spa. Perhaps some signage would be useful. The main lobby bar under a beautiful glass rotunda was comfortable enough, but service was slow, and on one Saturday afternoon, non-existent. My husband and I sat at a dirty, unbussed table for close to an hour (while the darn room was being serviced) and not a single employee came to clean it off or offer us a drink. Happily the fashionable lobby bar set back from the rotunda room was happening and the service was good. I particularly liked the gummy bears served with the cocktails. Bed quality was just so-so and the pillows were the flattest I’ve ever encountered at a high-end hotel. While this hotel may have been the grand dame of Munich hotels at one point in its life, Im afraid it has seen better days. Im certain you can do better elsewhere.

The room we had in the old part of the building has to be the worst hotel room I've ever stayed in and at £700 a night the most expensive. The room that hasn't been decorated in 20+ years and looked so dated. The fact that we had to come out the main hotel and walk 200 yards along the street to get to another door to access the lifts to our room was also shocking. Also had issues with the key fobs which meant a trek to reception for nobody being able to fix them. Would definitely avoid.

This hotel is described as a luxury hotel, however, our experience was anything but luxury. First we had to wait almost 1/2 hr for our luggage to be brought to our room. Next we had to change rooms 3 times. Our first room had broken AC, we waited more than 30 minutes for our new room assignment and then that room had a view of a construction crane! Our final room assignment also had AC issues after being in the room for only 2 hrs. The AC was leaking from the ceiling into my husband's luggage. Also there were lamps not working because there were no receptacles, burned wallpaper from electrical sparks, and a broken receptacle in the bathroom which could have caused an electrical shock. I might note that the final room was right next to the elevator which we considered a rude assignment after changing rooms for 2 hours. Not once did anyone offer an accomodation for our incoveniences in changing rooms: a cup of coffee or a drink at the bar, while the staff sorted out a room for us. Even when we checked out of the hotel and expressed our disappointment in our stay, all that could be said is the hotel was having some renovations. That was their excuse. Additionally these renovations, which were not disclosed on their website did cause some of their restaurants to be closed. The final straw in our dissappointing stay was our experience on the roof top bar. We had a reservation and when we arrived 9 minutes early, we were told to wait until 9:30 although there were empty tables on the deck. Then after being seated, we waited for 15 minutes for a server to take our order, and then 15 minutes later the server returned to advise us the drink we ordered was out of stock! This type of service is not what one would expect at a luxury hotel which is charging very high prices. I have reached out to the hotel 3 times over the last few weeks and the hotel doesn't even bother to respond to us. Such poor customer service. I can not recommend the Bayerischer!!
