Great stay beginning to end! We had a King Suite which looked out onto the street and it was large, well appointed with three big windows and a huge bathroom. Good amenities in the bath, we got a complimentary couple for the Celtic Cowboy, a pub/restaurant next door so we stopped for a beer flight, which was great! We walked everywhere- to the river, to local bars & restaurants, we didn’t have to start the car at all! Breakfast was great with a lot of options- I would stay here again!

Beautiful historic hotel located in downtown Great Falls,within easy walking distance of many restaurants. The hotel is well kept and offers many amenities. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was sufficient and located in the historic attached bar.

The Arvon is distinctly different. It's a very interesting building - the story is on a plaque outside. It has a good sized bar. Food is served on some evenings, and this is also where you have breakfast. Breakfast is a bit unusual. There are the regular cereals and fruits....

The Arvon is distinctly different. It's a very interesting building - the story is on a plaque outside. It has a good sized bar. Food is served on some evenings, and this is also where you have breakfast. Breakfast is a bit unusual. There are the regular cereals and fruits. But is a large freezer filled with pre-made items and instructions for heating these in the microwaves that are provided in the breakfast area. So you get freshly heated food as you need it. Examples include burritos and corned beef hash. they were both good. Our room didn't really have a window. There was a glass panel high on the wall that faced into the corridor, but the room was clean and comfortable. We were right behind reception, so feared it would be noisy.. It was not and we had a great night's sleep. The hotel also has a garage.

I would not recommend staying here. While the hotel has a quaint and historic charm, our experience was far from restful, primarily due to the heating/AC unit. We set the temperature to 68 degrees for sleeping, but it would reset to heat mode after an hour or so, leaving us uncomfortably hot. We tried adjusting it several times throughout the night, only to wake up to the same issue repeatedly. When we called the front desk for assistance, no one answered, likely because it’s a small boutique hotel. The next day, the staff offered to set the temperature from the office, but the problem persisted. It left us wondering if the system might be motion-activated or something similar. Regardless, it led to a few frustrating nights. Check-in was also problematic. Although the stated check-in time is 3:00 pm, our room wasn't ready, and we weren't the only ones waiting. Three other couples were trying to check in shortly after 3:00, which was particularly frustrating after a long day of travel. On Friday nights, there's live music at the Celtic Cowboy next door, which can be quite loud, especially in rooms like ours, room 104. Thankfully, the music ended around 10 pm, but it's something to be aware of if you're looking for a quieter stay. Despite being advertised, the hotel did not provide a hair dryer, so bring your own. Additionally, housekeeping does not enter your room during your stay, so keep that in mind if you require fresh towels or linens. The breakfast was also disappointing, consisting of frozen burritos and biscuits with instructions for heating them in the microwave. There was some cereal, yogurt, and applesauce, but no fresh fruit or substantial options, making it feel less like a proper breakfast. Finally, check-out was a bit unclear, with no direct communication. I ended up leaving the keys at the front desk and hoping for the best. Overall, the combination of issues made for an unsatisfactory experience.

Stopped here for one night on the way from Glacier National Park Red Lodge, Montana. Hotel was easy to find in downtown in Great Falls. Check-in was pleasant and quick, and they provided good directions to various parking opportunities. We parked inside the building that is behind the hotel. We had a king suite which was very spacious. There were three windows facing the street, loveseat, chairs, television, microwave, fridge, large, well lit bathroom, very comfortable bed. The room looked very newly furnished. We did use the laundry facility in the basement. Breakfast in the morning was at the restaurant next-door. They had breakfast burritos, hash pie, frittatas, bread, bagels, cream, cheese, fruit, cups, applesauce, hard, boiled, eggs, yogurt, and cereal, as well as coffee and juice. We really like this hotel and would definitely come back.

Front desk woman was nice, like at a motel 8. Third floor room, of course the elevator was not working. Small room. King bed. One small chair to sit on. Small microwave on top of a small refrigerator. Two nightstands. The TV was embarrassingly small. I’ve seen bigger computer screens. Not that I came to Billings to watch TV, but it just stands out as being cheap, like the furniture. The room was very clean tho. The window has a plastic covering so you can’t see outside or obviously open it. Now the bathroom… The shower is made so that there is no door to open and close, so no matter how careful you try to be, water will get on the tile floor. So you need at least two extra towels to sop up the water. No rails in the shower to hold onto. If you need something to hold on to, you have to grab onto the one shelf that you put your soap and stuff on, or the edge of the glass shower wall. Small sink, NO exhaust fan. The bathroom is right next to the bed. Hallway has paintings and other items for sale as you walked around. I get the historical aspect. The only thing that saves this place is the Celtic Cowboy restaurant that is next door and attached to it. Excellent food, wait staff and bar and decent prices. I was very impressed. The breakfast was marginal. Had to wait a while before an employee would walk in to get more creamer and milk.

If you need a good restaurant to eat at the Celtic Cowboy is fantastic! Also the hotel has breakfast set up in the restaurant and it was amazing!

Great place to start our National Parks vacation. Vintage, historic meets modern creature comforts. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Staff was great, helpful, friendly. Breakfast included at the Celtic Cowboy attached. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I are on a very long cross country road trip with 40 stops round trip, so I tried to find special places to stay, especially those with historical charm. Hotel Arvon was the perfect boutique hotel for us, oozing character yet offering all of the modern amenities we needed. We appreciate modern style but there’s something to be said for hotels that reflect a sense of place. We arrived around check in time and were kindly greeted by a young woman at the front desk who promptly registered us and gave us useful information. We had parked in front of the hotel temporarily so we brought our luggage up to the suite then parked in the convenient garage behind the hotel. Your room key is also a pass for garage entry and exit. We had suite 211 and it was terrific! Each suite is named for a historical person and there’s a brief bio about them outside the door to the room. I wish I had taken note of the person ours was named for. We had a large sitting room with a window looking out on the Main Street, a separate bedroom with another window and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower and plenty of space for toiletries. There were 2 bath towels as well as washcloths, hand towels, a makeup washcloth and some old cloths that can be used to clean a pet if you brought yours. We met an adorable dog in the hallway and realized how thoughtful that is. I like an extra towel for my hair so I asked and one was brought right away. There was a very good lighted makeup mirror and full length mirror. We also had a kitchenette which would be fine for light meal prep. Coffee was very good, including decaf. There were TVs in the sitting and bed rooms. The bed and pillows were comfortable and it was quiet overnight so we slept well. There’s an adequate workout room on the lower level. We especially appreciated the guest laundry which we needed. The Celtic Cowboy is a fun space and we were pleased with the breakfast. As art lovers and collectors we found much of the artwork in the hotel to be quite interesting and so much better than the generic mass produced pieces typical of most hotels. Check out was quick and pleasant. Overall we had a lovely stay and would return if in the area again.

Had high hopes for this hotel - it seems to rate well. We are seasoned travellers and have high expectations and we felt pretty let down by this experience. Front of house: we were met by a young woman devoid of emotion when we arrived. We were offered drink tickets as per our VIP booking but the restaurant was closed so it was of zero use to us. Hotel: it’s old. Probably renovated 20 years ago. Mediocre western art on the walls marked to amusing high prices. Hotel room: A combination between tired, creepy (not all lighting was working) and dodgy. The walls had some odd art (though the main wall in the sitting area was missing a painting altogether). The bathroom is very tired and in need of a renovation. Two tiny bath towels, no hand towels or facecloths. There were two rolled up rags under the sink in a basket, presumably for the water that sprays out of the open concept shower. Shampoo and conditioner was really sketch so we were grateful to have our own. The bed was ok. Pillows were literally 12x12 large. Really odd. Checkout was a bit rushed. We’ve never had an issue getting an hour late checkout. They gave us 30 minutes max on a Monday morning and housekeeping still tried to barge into the room without knocking when we had 20 minutes to go. Check out the Gibson instead. Brand spanking new and really well appointed rooms with great decor. We regret not staying there instead.

The room & bed were comfy, the bathroom was great and the lighting was perfect. Not blinding. Great historical building. Breakfast was good and loved the restaurant. Missed the ghost we heard about but will be back again for another try.
