Honeymooners loved their stay at the resort, particularly praising the Diamond Club's ocean view rooms and butler services. Valentin, one of the butlers, was highly commended for his attentiveness, politeness, and ability to organize activities such as dinner reservations and shopping trips. The hotel's beach was another highlight, with many guests noting its beauty and the availability of lounge chairs. The staff was consistently praised for their friendliness and excellent service, with special mention given to Victor, the concierge, and various bartenders and pool attendants. The variety and quality of the food was also a positive aspect, with the Dorado restaurant receiving particular praise. The Hideaway section was a favorite among couples, with a variety of drinks, snacks, and a beautiful pool. The overall resort layout, which includes an adult area within the resort, was appreciated for providing the best of both worlds. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the resort also has a well-equipped gym. The entertainment staff were commended for their efforts, although some found the pool music too loud at times. The Royalton Hideaway Diamond Club was highly recommended for anniversaries, with guests praising the beautiful resort, beach, room, and the excellent service from the staff, especially butlers like Miguel and Victor. The food was particularly praised, with the buffet offering a wide variety and the grill chef, Antonio, getting special praise. The beach and pool bars were also highlighted for their excellent service, with Juan, Yovanny, and Brandy receiving special mentions. The resort's watersport center was also praised, offering boogie boards and catamarans for rent or use. The Hideaway Diamond Club was lauded for providing total relaxation, with butler Miguel receiving high praise. The Hideaway's own breakfast restaurant was also recommended. The resort's staff was universally praised for their excellent service, with particular mention going to Wilson, the pool guy, and Valentin, the butler. The resort was also praised for the cleanliness of the grounds and the quality of the food, with the buffet and hibachi restaurant getting special mentions. The beach was also lauded for being kept clean and having plenty of beach chairs. While some found the resort loud, the staff, especially Rudy, Ozuna, and Juan, were praised for their excellent service. While some guests had minor complaints, most agreed that they had a wonderful time at the resort and would happily return.

We upgraded to Diamond club to get an ocean view room...the way the resort is set up, the rooms run perpendicular to the beach so it's not really ocean view....with diamond club you get a butler..our butler was Valentin. I've never had a butler before, so I'm not sure all of the services they offer but Valentin was available for whatever I needed. He came and checked on us throughout the day at the pool, he made our dinner reservations for us, he set up a taxi for us to go shopping, he decorated our room one night. He was great, always had a big smile on his face, very polite, and made sure we had what we needed and made sure we were happy. 10 stars for Valentin! The beach was beautiful, the pool was nice, Food was good....for breakfast at the buffet I suggest getting there before 9.

Overall a good resort, not perfect by any means, but if you go into it with the expectation that most things will be good then you will not be disappointed. We stayed in building 3 room 3108 which was the at the end of the swim outs away from the adults only pool. It was fairly private and quite there for the most part and got morning sun. Special shout out to some great staff who really made the week. Juan at the Hideaway Pool Bar, Luis who was the night bartender, Ramigio and Wilson the pool attendants at the Hideaway, Jennifer in the Hideaway Lounge, and activity staff JP Pappi and Soloman.

One of the worst vacation experiences in my 51 years on this earth. The food is terrible, and the staff clearly does NOT enjoy being there; including management when you share concerns. Save your money or your points and book elsewhere. We filed a complaint with Marriott as well, but they don't care. So disappointing!
Read Full ReviewThe resort was excellent, service, food and rooms. Victor was an excellent resource as our concierge. We are already planning our return. The layout of the adult resort within a resort gave you best of two worlds. The adult restaurant, Dorado was an excellent fun choice.

My husband and I loved our week stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and helpful. This fabulous service continued in the Hideaway section. The Hideaway pool bar and beach bar staff were brilliant and the waiters were regularly asking if we would like more drinks. We really enjoyed the drinks especially the Aperol Spritz and Margaritas! The staff in the Hideaway lounge were also lovely and would serve coffees, alcoholic and soft drinks plus there was a good selection of snacks, cakes etc to eat here too. The housekeeping staff also seemed happy and were attentive. The beach is beautiful- bear in mind it is Punta Cana area so the sea is choppier than in the south, but there were plenty of sun beds to choose from. We were happy with our room it was spacious and clean. The hotel also has a very good gym which we used several times. The food was generally very good throughout, plenty to choose from and we were able to book several restaurants too during our stay. The entertainment staff make a great effort although we did find the music too loud at times by the pool, especially the adults pool! It’s a short walk to the sister hotel too in lovely grounds. All in all a wonderful week thank you to the staff, I can only recall Josemerlyn from the hideaway pool bar but so many were great.

We are so happy with our decision to go with this resort for our anniversary. My wife and I went for 7 days and chose the Hideaway Diamond Club with the swim out room. The resort, beach and our room were beautiful. Once we arrived at the resort, we were greeted right away and offered a welcome drink. We were taken to the Diamond Club Lounge for check in. At the lounge there were drinks and snacks offered to us. Check in was smooth and we were introduced to our butler Miguel. We didn't have to worry about our luggage as they brought it to our room not too long after check in. He brought us to our room (spacious and very clean) and described all the perks for Diamond Club guest. Told us where everything was at the resort. He gave us his number if we needed anything or have any questions. He would check in everyday to make sure our stay was perfect. He was definitely a great butler. I'm a food person and have to say the buffet had a variety of food. The food was excellent, from grilled meat, fish, seafood, pasta, pizza, desserts and a whole lot more. I would look for Antonio (grill chef). He looked after us the whole time. He would grill my steak perfectly (medium rare) and lobsters with garlic butter sauce. I tipped him every time he cooked for us. We mainly ate at the buffet not because we couldn't get any reservations but just because of the variety and the great service from Antonio we preferred the buffet. We did go to 2 A La Carte's, Hunter and Under the Sea. We weren't crazy about it and service was super slow. Also try the coffee shop, they make an excellent cappuccino, tea or specialty coffee. As well the ice cream was delicious. My favorite was 'the Jamaican' hold the whipped cream and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream aka affogato. We mainly stayed at the beach or our swim out pool. The diamond club pool was great but we liked the relaxing areas. Say hi to Juan at the pool bar. Always smiling and saying hi. A very happy bartender. The beach was breath taking. Clean (no seaweed and not crowded). The beach bar bartenders were fantastic. Yovanny aka Why Not and Brandy looked after us everyday. They make the best Pina Coladas. They always have my drink ready (Crown Royal and Gingerale). Thank you Why Not and Brandy. Right beside the beach bar was a water sport center. They have boogie boards and catamaran to use for an hour or could rent for the day. They sell excursions as well an found out they are the best priced. Go see Alejandro AKA Lady Gaga boyfriend. Great to deal with and doesn't pressure you to buying anything. We bought an excursion to Catalina Island for snorkeling and diving. What a great trip, definitely recommend to everyone. 100% guarantee we will be back at this resort. Thank you to all the other staff as well.

We stayed in the Hideaway and also upgraded to diamond status. Firstly the good: excellent room, spacious and very clean. Great staff. We had a butler called Melqui who was very good. The resort was very clean and has the potential to be excellent but it did fall short - taking me to the negative. The hideaway was not as imagined. If you're after a romantic, quiet and uncrowded spot, this isn't it. It was full of very loud large groups, often using very questionable language. The pool was overcrowded and often very murky, which may be explained by guests just standing in the pool all day long and not leaving the pool for a bathroom break - which was surprising considering the vast amounts of alcohol consumed. The worst was having to witness a young couple copulating in their swim up pool. The food was o.k but have had better. The Dorado was good but the meals delivered rarely matched the description on the menu. An adults only buffet is needed! The noise in the buffet was horrendous but the selection of foods was good. The other restaurants were nothing special. Overall, not the best of resorts especially considering the cost charged.

Nice resort, good food & great beach. We have been to Royalton Resorts before in hideaway diamond club, this one was not quite up to the standards we are use to. The rooms are smaller and less luxurious. There is not separate diamond club check in, in the hideaway section. Our butler was helpful but at first wanted us to book our dinners through the app. We declined and he did do it for us. All the service staff was great, friendly and provided good service.

Last night of our stay. We were diamond club hideaway. It was everything we wanted . Total rest and relaxation week. We ate at restaurants every night. Favourite was steak house and the Italian at splash. Zen was fun and delicious food. We discovered hideaways diamond club own breakfast restaurant today. Throughly enjoyed it. Wish we’d gone earlier. But buffet was nice too. We had Miguel as our butler. I was dubious of having a butler but Miguel was absolutely amazing. He checked in with us every day. Booked all our restaurants. Answered all our query’s and gave us great advice. He was a best way I can describe him a proper gentleman. Will definitely return . Most enjoyable break . Xx

This was an excellent experience. We have stayed at several all inclusive resorts and this was very similar but the staff was amazing. There is something for everyone here. Family spaces, couples/adults only space, loud spaces and quiet spaces. The beach or choose from several different pool vibes. Even the various bars/lounges offered unique experiences so that you always have a place. The food was my only issue and it was minor. I like my food very hot and seasoned well. Sometimes the food here was rather bland and usually cooled quickly. It was minor and I would still come back. Pony up the extra money and get either a boat from the airport or take the helicopter. Its a long ride through the mountains. Some people took nearly 3 hours in traffic.

The Hideaway was a plesant experience. Not the best, not the worst. It started out hectic with unorganized check in, and then a "concierge" offering us a free cabana the next morning if we attended breakfast with him. After reading reviews, it turned out this was a timeshare meeting, and we decided not to go to the meeting. We chose to sleep in, and were called 3 times and door knocked on 4 times before 11am to go to the time share meeting. This was extremely frustrating. We decided to go, as we did not want to be badgered the next day again. It took over an hour, and we did not end up getting a cabana or anything. A wasted beach day. From there, the rest of the trip was fine. The food overall was tragic. Inedible most places, except the Mexican cantina. The app is pretty confusing as well. The beach is completely public, so vendors are constantly coming up to you trying to sell things nonstop all day long. That was tough. The beach itself is beautful and large. The pools are nice too, just crowded. Not a ton of seperation between the "adults" section compared to the family section, so really never felt like an adults only. We went to another resort the second half of the week and the experience was much better. I would probably not return to this resort.

My wife and I went on a couples trip with some close friends in late January to The Hideaway (Diamond club). Overall the resort was a lot of fun, the grounds were kept very clean and the staff were great. As with any all inclusive it is import to tip the staff, if you take care of them they will take care of you. This goes for bartenders, cleaning and restocking staff, butlers… Take care of them and it comes back X10. Rudy and Ozuna were great bartenders for the night shift at the Hideaway bar, sincerely two of the best bartenders I’ve met abroad. I don’t drink in the day but Juan was polite and attentive when I did grab something during the day. The buffet was really good, amazing deserts and good overall selection. We chose to dine the buffet most nights but we also hit the hibachi joint (which was good) and the Diamond beach club for some great wings and burgers. The food was a highlight, better than most all inclusive for sure. The beach is kept very clean and they had tons of beach chairs. The waters get rough, which was fun but also clearly dangerous (5 people drowned a half mile down the beach a few days before our arrival). I don’t think I’d have my son in there, that undertow was for real. I’m a big guy and I got absolutely tossed one time. It was fun but I’d excerise caution. Not the fault of the resort, it’s just rough water. My complaints include how loud the resort is. Even the hideaway section. I’m not an old crab by any means (mid 30s), but man they blared the same playlist EVERY SINGLE DAY. From 10-10 the place is just loud. Not a great resort for those who want some relaxation and down time, it is more of a party resort. Also the Hideaway in itself really isn’t much of adults only wing, it’s legit one private pool with a walk up bar. Additionally the hideaway bar closes early as hell (10:30) as do the other bars on that side of the resort. It annoyed me they couldn’t at least keep one of the 3 bars open til midnight even. After 10:30 you have to walk a quarter mile up the resort to go to the club or sports bar, which that area is loud and crawling with kids until late in the evening. Having a laid back spot by the beach to enjoy the evening would have made our stay vastly better. In conclusion, I wouldn’t go back to The Hideaway, but it’s not a bad resort what so ever. It just wasn’t my vibe. We still had a great time and the food and staff were great. If you’re in your 30s-50s and enjoy partying during the day, it’s a great spot. Shoutout again to Rudy and Ozuna one more time. Also Valentine our butler, he was very polite and helpful

Marriott Bonvoy Members - Beware!! Do not book Royalton Autograph resorts in Dominican Republic! I have been a loyal Titanium Elite members for years and stayed at more than 400+ Marriott properties this is the worst experience I have ever encountered. I booked the Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana six months before our arrival. Ocean view, adults only room and added the "Diamond Club" option. I checked into the resort through the Bonvoy app like always arrived at the location at 6pm the evening of check in. No room available, they offered a down graded regular room and a free massage. What a JOKE! When I refused they offered to move us to a sister Royalton property which we took since it was a long day of travel. However, it was not adults only! No offer to just go there for a night or two and come back. We arrived at the new location and finally were taken to our room. The resort was OK but not adults only kids were running around, weddings were held on the beach 3 of the 8 nights we were there with loud music playing until 10pm. Certainly not what we booked! We tried to resolve the issues with the resort while we were there but could not. I filed a case on January 31, 2025 with Marriott still no resolution as I write this on March 21, 2025. I was told by Elite customer service they are not getting a response back from the property and there is nothing they could do. How disturbing is this? Oh by the way the resort we were moved to I have no record on my Bonvoy app and no points. Is Marriott this bad??? As for the Diamond club experience at the Royalton it is not worth the extra money that you pay. Basically it is the same benefits we enjoy as Bonvoy members with a butler. The butler basically is good for making dinner reservations at the resort because the Royalton app is so bad you cannot make reservations until midnight of the day you would like a reservation at the restaurant. Diamond club is billed as an "upgraded food and drink experience" along with butler service. This is not true it is only access to the Diamond club lounge with apps and included upgraded alcohol. If you visit any of their restaurants there are added fees for an upgraded steak for example or if you want a top shelf liquor you have to buy the whole bottle! In speaking with some of the staff Royalton use to include this for Bonvoy members but they worked it out with Marriott that they now can charge for the Diamond club. Marriott bad decision! Bottom line be very cautious with Royalton resorts they are not "Autograph" properties as us loyal members expect. I would not recommend them at all! Marriott fix your Bonvoy app and integrate with your partners otherwise it is useless unless you stay at Marriott properties!

The property boasts a beautiful location and grounds. However, guest rooms are basic, though clean. While staff are friendly, their helpfulness is inconsistent. A significant concern was the limited restaurant access. Without Diamond Club membership, reservations in other restaurants were unavailable. Although the buffet offered palatable food, the hotel's advertised culinary diversity was inaccessible. Furthermore, the hotel's occupancy during American Spring Break resulted in significant early-morning noise disturbances from teenagers.

We stayed here for two weeks. The rooms were a bit small and needed more dresser drawer space for clothing. We were in building 2 on the top floor and faced the pool. It was too hot to sit on the balcony after 3pm because of the heat. The temperature in our room was also quite warm, even with the A/C. We had to keep the blackout drapes closed to keep the heat down. The concierge were really pushy in trying to get us to attend a session on the Royalton Loyalty program. We were not interested. Don’t get sucked in. There were many restaurants that required reservations. You have to go on the app the day before to book your reservation. Sometimes it was difficult to get a reservation until 8pm or 9pm, although many times the restaurants had lots of empty tables. The food was good at most restaurants. Our favourite restaurant was by far was the Dorado. We would like to recognize Carolina who greeted us warmly and with a lovely smile each day. Our waiters Baron, Fabian, and Jose Luis were all wonderful. A special recognition for Baron who was always pleasant, efficient, and looked after the little things. He should be a manager. A shout out to JP Paper and Pokémon for keeping us entertained by the pool. Thanks to Denni for keeping our drink glasses full, and to Wilson for the clean towels and fruit kabobs every morning. The beach was lovely but there were very few chairs and palapas in the Hideaway section. The Hideaway pool was much too small for the number of guests. For a couple of days, the water in the pool was cloudy. Other guests and ourselves made a complaint and there were staff cleaning the it the next day.
