Disappointing Second Visit

Booked a long weekend 2/14-2/17 with the same expectations we had as guests in mid-August. We always visit 2-3 times a year from Wildwood and seek a dog friendly property with a good indoor pool and hot tub. The trip in August was absolutely fine, but this trip was a huge let down.
We made a reservation on the Hilton app for a King, and the room was a double. Got some excuse on we used a third party bla bla bla and we did not. We were given a King that was a ADA room I guess with the door bell. That was an ok fix.
Now the pool area. I did call Thursday night to confirm the pool/hot tub was working. They said on the phone “I guess”. I asked again and they confirmed at the time everything was running. Entered the pool Friday evening and it was pretty cold. The ‘whirlpool’ was cold as well. The hot tub was only ‘very warm’. Came back Sunday afternoon and it was cooler than Friday. Politely asked them at the front desk if they could turn up the temperature please. The lady called on the radio.
Now here is where the wheels fell off the truck. I passed the same maintenance guy on the way down the hallway a few minutes earlier and commented that I hope the hot tub is warmer. He said it’s running fine. He came back to the pool area and went into the room and came back out and said it will be warmer in a few minutes. 30 minutes later it was still on the cooler side and that evening it was not any warmer. Wouldn’t have just been easier to say it’s slow this off season due to renovations and we are saving some $$$. Look I get it things happen but these are basic Hilton requirements to be a franchise operation. And also don’t forget to remove the disposable gloves from the alarm heads when the guys aren’t working. See photo.

I’ve been staying at the Hampton By Hilton now for 4 years during the week of Thanksgiving. Decided 4years ago to stay in OCMD during this time just to get outta my home town, kinda as a rest…. I chose this hotel since I bring bare minimum with me so, Breakfast was kinda a big deal to me when deciding a place to stay. I find this Hotel to be clean, very welcoming n like the rooms that are Bay Front. I was fortunate the weather was in the 60’s for my stay which was very nice. Beds are always very nice, neat n clean, n I sleep just fine on them. The staff here does a wonderful job of cleaning the rooms in my opinion. I was a bit shocked this time those as they have coffee on all day long, it was cold…
I’m not a huge coffee drinker but, will drink it occasionally. Two times I decided to get a cup n it was cold or barely warm. I did NOT mention it to the staff, I didn’t wanna be “that guy”. Breakfast was okay, I thought it the pasted years it was better. I appreciate the free breakfast n it being right at the hotel is nice, no need to drive anywhere. In the past, i remember them having sausage gravy n biscuits n also bacon one morning. This stay it was eggs every day (4 mornings I was there and Potatoes). The eggs were prepared 2 different ways for my stay(scrambled 2 days n one day omelets). They do have a nice size selection of breakfast(fresh fruits, hard boiled eggs, a few cereal brands, 2 different flavors of yogurt, bagels, muffins/pastries, the main hot breakfast eggs, potatoes sausage patties/links, and a make your own waffle station along with 4 different juices.
I would have liked to see bacon one morning or that sausage gravy n biscuits. Regardless I always enjoy my stay here for my Thanksgiving week getaway. Nothing has detoured me away from staying here. The rooms are a very nice size room n nice size tvs and everything was clean in my book. Look forward to staying here 2025(Thanksgiving week)!

Nice stay way from main noise
Comfortable hotel in a safe area and in a quieter area than the main drag. Enjoyed the included breakfast, which was plentiful and tasty enough, and free parking on site. Plenty of eateries around too within walking distance. Beds comfortable too and room & hotel clean.

This is a well-appointed, comfortable hotel that is centrally-located. Room furnishings and fixtures were all up-to-date, and the breakfast exceeded expectations. The view of the bay (from the back of the building) was a real plus. The staff was friendly and professional. We would definitely return.

We will make sure to return on our next trip.

How are you going to charge people all of this money a night and your amenities are not functioning properly? Indoor pool is ice cold. Jacuzzi overflow attached to pool is Ice cold. No knob attached to the timer to even turn it on and it is full of sand and not even filtering . There is only one heated tiny small hot jacuzzi for everyone to use. How are people supposed to enjoy this amenity in the off season when the outdoor pool area is closed if it’s not what it should be ????Rusty fixtures inside the pool area all over the place. Do better Hilton. Disappointed.
Room was not cleaned well at all, hair all over floor, webs behind the tv stand, crumbs in corners, shower has a lot of scum and dirt, iron wasn’t working but was changed out when requested.
On a better note, and the only reason why I gave it 3 stars- views on the bay are Fantastic, staff is all very friendly and courteous, breakfast is well stocked and very plentiful.

Great solid Hampton Inn on the bay

This is a lovely spot on the bay. The views from the pool and bar area are stunning. The outdoor pool is very large. The indoor pool area is average. There is a large exercise room with a lot of equipment. The room was fine and comfortable. The walking distance to the beach is less than 10 minutes since the costal highway has barriers and can only be crossed at certain corners with traffic lights. The beach is close.
I would like to recognize the breakfast area staff. They are super nice and work hard to replenish the great breakfast items which are offered. The workers come around to refill your coffee at your table.
I realize no place can be perfect but this place is was wonderful a 3 night stay.

My husband & I stayed from 06/09 - 06/11/23. Our room was nice but the refrigerator froze the water bottle we received from the front desk and Gatorade drinks solid. We had to wait a few hours for our drinks to thaw out on our way home.
The breakfast buffet was okay, but they need to make some improvements. On both days there were flies buzzing around in the area of the food. I was very disappointed to see flies. (I don't like flies around my food) Good grief as expensive as this hotel is they can afford a bug zapper. The biscuits & gravy the biscuits were hard as a rock on the bottom. We had to throw our biscuits & gravy away because they were so difficult to cut with a knife.
Also, there is no microwave in the area of the breakfast food. If you want to use the microwave you have to go by the front desk into their snack area to use it. Most hotels I've been to have a microwave in the breakfast bar area. As cheap as microwaves are these days, they can put one by the breakfast area. I tried to use the business center and the printer was out of ink. The front desk had no replacement cartridges on hand. This is something that management should always make sure there is a backup in stock so the printer can be used. Don't use your last cartridge and do not order more.
We used the hot tub and it needs to be cleaned more often. We noticed a white film floating around (not normal as we've used other hot tubs) and we got out of it.
They have an outdoor bar but their cook left before 7:00 pm so we couldn't get any appetizers and enjoy drinks while watching the sunset. We did get one drink, but there is a horrible smell from the water close to the bar. They probably have no control over that. We went back to our room to watch the sunset. Beautiful view of sunsets on our side of the hotel.
