This hotel deserves its rave reviews. But not everything was perfect. An unqualified 5* review and thanks for the excellent service from the team in the club room. And the delightful staff in the hotel shop (who kindly wrote us a note in English to help us maintain the gift we had bought, because they were (rightly) concerned we wouldn’t understand the Japanese instructions). The outdoor pools, the room and the common areas were of the highest standard. We recommend the sunset wing luxury club rooms. However the balconies (of all the rooms) are pretty public to your neighbouring guests, and we didn’t feel relaxed on ours if our neighbours were on theirs too. We enjoyed a wonderful meal in the Kingdom restaurant). But be warned - book in advance. We tried to book a table 3 days before our visit. 2 restaurants were fully booked. And we could only book at either 5.30 or 8.00pn in Kingdom. (We ate in the club room on the other nights). However the weather was poor and there really isn’t much to do in that location when it rains. And there is no indoor pool. And the spa/sauna were only available if you booked a treatment. In a very expensive hotel this was disappointing. The food in the club room was beautifully presented and very tasty ….but more limited than other club rooms we’ve visited …especially afternoon tea. But the drinks were excellent…with champagne available all day. Breakfast was also a little limited, although you could enjoy complimentary and comprehensive breakfasts in the hotel’s other restaurants (although we had to queue despite booking a slot). We included Okinawa on our trip in order to visit friends who live there, so we were entertained by them during our stay. But if we’d visited the hotel just as part of our trip we’d have struggled to find things to do…apart from repeated short walks along the beach. I’m sure it’s idyllic when the sun shines…and it’s not the hotel’s fault we went late October and it rained!

Nice property , leading hotel of the world but really not up to that standard when compared to other LHW. they have three major problems: 1. Terrible breakfast dining allocation where you can book into a queue for breakfast and be told that your breakfast slot is in 70minutes. No body needs to plan their day or wake up time on holiday based on the breakfast allocation slot. 2. Over crowding: the whole dining areas and pool area felt overcrowded, more so when it rained. 3. Staff not wanting to open umbrellas when it was slightly windy. We found this incredulous when there were no winds but based on predicted weather forecast! This meant lying on subbed sun the heat! Located about an hour from Naha airport by car via the toll Highway. Two Major wings: sunset and beach. Total of 360 rooms and villas. On arrival, one has to drive up to the sunset wing.Valet parking- took too long when we had to pick up the car, at time we waited over 10minutes! Check in was ok- sat at the foyer with beautiful sea views but the whole process took too Long and should be more efficient. We were shown our room by concierge personal - room 751. Nice size room with a compartment for a walk In closet and good size shower with views to the balcony from the bath tube. Parking was free as per the booking or otherwise 2000yen per day. Turn down service - ice bucket and pj’s are out and about gift which was a nice touch but not useful- we left them all behind. Balconies are to close together especially 751 and 750 and 752. Pools: There are a number of pools: best is the sunset pool and the quiet pool( beach wing), both adults only. The indoor pool was narrow as on the day it rained, there was a lot of kids in their blow up floaters which took up a lot Of Space in the pool. The pool staff give out towels and also bottles of Cold water which is a nice touch. They refused to open umbrellas although it was sunny if there was a weather forecast that it maybe windy. The sunset terrace pool: guest are told to leave whilst sun is setting which could be 1835 when closure is 1900 according to the pool brochure. Beach was ok- brown sands with clear water and small umbrellas. These umbrellas were the only ones open when the weather forecast predicted winds and all the other pools had their umbrellas shut. Dining: Breakfast was good at the La The all day dining without a key: Breakfast buffet was also good with wide Selection and seating divided up between child friendly and adult only areas, thankfully. Just very busy and a long wait of over 30minutes if booked at 0730 and over 60 minutes at 0800! Food at the pool bar was frankly terrible - had the vegetable panini and it was frankly poor and over priced! GYM: Manned by two staff. A walk from the sunset wing to 3 rd floor of the beach wing. 2 cycle , 2 jogger and 1 cross trainer with 1 tower. Weights up to 22kg. Chest bench and 3 weigh machine. Needs more relaxing music in the gym. Issues: Breakfast and queueing system- area for breakfast just too small for the number of Guest, solution is to expand their table numbers or add a third restaurant Pool umbrellas- would not be open if there is wind: windy as we found on the 10 September.

We had the absolute best time at Halekulani Okinawa for our honeymoon. The resort is the most beautiful property I have ever stayed at and the hospitality is incredible. My husband and I loved the fresh pajamas and beach hoodies each day. Rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and comfortable. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need. I have a tree nut allergy and every restaurant was careful to make sure there were no contaminations. I highly recommend doing the snorkeling excursion. We had so much fun and the boat ride was beautiful. The spa is the best I have ever attended in my life and highly recommend booking a treatment if you can. Food is amazing. Best breakfast buffet we’ve ever had. We at at shiroux and Aomi and loved the multi-course meals. The resort is quiet and peaceful and is perfect for a small family or couple looking to relax in a beautiful scenery.

The attention to detail of the staff was great and what you would expect of a 5 star resort. The bar, Shiroux and breakfast buffet were delicious and left us satisfied. The activities are a little expensive most likely because it is a new resort trying to rapidly get a return on their investment. I definitely recommend if you have an Amex Platinum.

Received a bundle of great benefits such as 12PM check-in, room upgrade from Deluxe Partial view king to Premier room oceanview king, FREE breakfast, 14K yen/$100 in incidental fees, late 4pm checkout and a bunch of amenities. Food is very good but pricey. The sunset bar has also beautiful views. Pools were all closed except indoor which was a bummer since we expected to swim. There is ni public spa only private which starts at 30K yen for an hour of massage. Valet is 1500 yen/$10 and they take care of your car. The service overall was wonderful, had a bed down service and waters refilled with ice bucket when we returned from dinner. Thank you Halekulani team!

The stay at the hotel was simply perfect. The place is gorgeous, the food is very good and the rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and they make sure that you have an incredible stay at this hotel. We tried all restaurants, the gym, the Club lounge, the spa and did some activities. Everything was great. I doubt there is a better place in Okinawa, especially for those going on honewmoon.

If not for the good natured employees it would garner 1/5. Kids and babies’ audible screaming at all hours. You can hear everything going on in the hallway from the room. Woken up each day by kids with kazoos. Dining experience expensive, lousy and full of crying babies even late into the evening. Our main courses came 30 minutes apart. One bar where they don’t know how to make any drink not on limited menu. Room service has four lunch items and is quickly sold out. Restaurant smoke from kitchen spewing out into the dining room. Food felt like it had been prepared well ahead of when you ordered it. Three separate spots to eat breakfast all with half hour to hour and a half wait time. Feels like a cheap cruise. Balconies with no privacy. Not sure how this is a five star hotel.
