I am here for a week and giving you my daily food review. Ate at Frida tonight. Fantastic! Carlos had it all under control. Had the grilled cauliflower. Really good. But the big winner was the filet and chorizo tacos. May have to say the best tacos ever. The filet was perfectly cooked with the combination of the tasty sausage and broiled cheese. It’s hard to beat. Asked Carlos for tequila that complimented the food and it was a great meal. Great night one!!!

Great property Great service Clean rooms Clean pool Easy to get to from airport and centrally located. Great price point. Good food choices. The adult end of pool is quite peaceful and on the beach end as well. The outdoor staff almost is works too hard

Fantastic hotel. Good food. Very clean inside and out. Excellent service from start to finish. Plenty of lounge chairs and shade. Pool servers are very attentive, especially Nadia. Carlos with the activity team went above and beyond to take me on a kayak tour. We did not attend the shows or use the spa. The key word for the trip was relaxation, and this hotel delivers.

We returned to the Grand Velas for a fourth time and again it did not disappoint! It is a five star all the way around… The resort, the rooms, the food, the activities and to top it all off it’s amazing when you have your own personal concierge… Thank you,...

Grand Velas was the very first five star rated resort we have visited, and it more than lived up to its reputation. The staff, the restaurants, the spa, the views, the whales…everything was spectacular! While everyone on the Grand Velas team provided fabulous customer service and attention to detail, a few people deserve special mention in our review. Ruth was our dedicated concierge and was attentive to our needs throughout our entire visit. Norma and Alma were our amazing masseuses who helped us relax, stretch, and be renewed!Rosario and Maly made the spa experiences extra special with their customer focus and water senses experience. They were all so good we scheduled four trips to the Spa Se, which is rated by Fortune as a diamond level experience! Gardenia was a fabulous aesthetician providing excellent facial experiences, and Isabel was attentive, friendly, and performed wonderful boutique experiences. Ricardo was a spectacular waiter at the Azul restaurant, providing a special brunch experiences each day, and Zenon was fun and provided a great experience while we enjoyed the adult pool and the beach. Benito was just as customer oriented and helpful at the coffee bar each day. All four diamond rated restaurants onsite (Asian, Mexican, French, and Italian) were a special dinner experience for the taste buds every evening. Diego was a special help as our sommelier, and all of the wait staff was dedicated and attentive to us each night. From the very moment we arrived to a relaxing drink and back massage from Leticia while waiting for our room until the moment we left when we continued to receive special treatment from Jesus at the valet desk, our experience was truly five star. Oh, and the sunsets every night are priceless. We will be back!

Everything about our trip was amazing. Getting off the bus we fell into paradise. Food was amazing at all restaurants. Wait staff was most friendly. Rooms spacious and spotless. Luis Mateo was the sweetest most amazing host we have ever had. He went out of his way to accommodate us....

Sweetest man ever. Can’t wait to go back and relax with this resort. Many thanks to all for making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you again Mr. Luis Mateo. Sending our love from East Texas.

The restaurants were excellent with a multitude of choices- even Azul, which is a not a specialty restaurant, but serves more variety than one would even notice without a complete study. Great, great service all around! The restaurants were excellent with a multitude of choices- even Azul, which is a not a specialty restaurant, but serves more variety than one would even notice without a complete study. The specialty restaurants had excellent gourmet choices, fine wines (expensive, but included in price), and good background music. The events at the beach are fun, including kayaking, volleyball, etc. (Carlo is an excellent host there, and a great guide- a surfer too, good for pointing surfers to good beaches for that). The pools and hot tubs are clean, with very frequent visits by agreeable servers, providing food and drink- never allowing guests to become hungry or thirsty. All around great resort! We never even set foot off the resort, and we will definitely return!!
