Ever get out of a pool on a chilly day and have a hotel pool employee run over to you with an open warm towel so he could drape it over your shoulders?? I did, at the Grand Velas Botique!!!This resort/hotel was absolute perfection for my wife and me! GVB is an intimate ,romantic and peaceful refuge, with incredible service, food and drinks. Only 1 year old, the rooms are huge (900 sq. ft), contemporary and have private, enormous decks with a hot tub, chaise table and chairs. The view was pure ocean, where you could see whales breaching before your eyes. Binoculars are included in the room, but some came so close you could easily see them with the naked eye. Fantastic! The neighboring Grand Velas Hotel, which is larger ( 300 rooms vs 79 in the GV Boutique) and not adults only, has 5 restaurants, including a Michelin 2 star restaurant with a 10 course tasting menu complemented with a wine pairing, at no extra charge, and there is one restaurant in the GVB. You can dine at any of the restaurants. In addition, each restaurant and bar has about a dozen completely original drinks, which were incredibly creative and tasty! The food at all the restaurants was GREAT , but the Michelin starred one was like a RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE!! Every dish looked like a mysterious,work of art. We often had no idea what the dish would taste like, so each bite was an exciting new taste sensation. The menu also completely changes once a year, in March. Check-in consists of sitting in a beautiful lounge area with the welcoming alcoholic beverage while they explain how everything, including tips, is included (we gave some extra tips anyway) and you are introduced to your own personal concierge who will assist you with any needs. Needless to say, the service everywhere was just sensational. It seemed like everybody knew your name, welcomed you and was happy to be at GVB. When we left, we felt like we were leaving friends, rather than employees working at a hotel. I imagine that Grand Velas hires outstanding individuals and then trains them incredibly well. It really shows with every interaction with every employee. So, beautiful, new, romantic, intimate hotel, with a wonderful staff, beyond-fabulous gourmet food and drinks, huge beautiful suite with very private deck and hot tub, all included for the price. Was it worth it? If you are the right type of traveler, the answer is ABSOLUTELY. We’re already saving up for another visit.

This was the first time I have stayed at the Grand Velas Boutique in Cabo. I have stayed at Grand Velas in Puerto Vallarta many times...and loved it. So, I gave Boutique a shot and I was overwhelmed! Everything was over the top, from the variety of amazing restaurants that we partook at both Boutique and Grand Velas next door, to the great onsite gym, amazing service (from poolside, to room to restaurants.) I want to give a big shout out to our concierge, Mr. Brandon Fenandez! He was phenomenal...from having our room cocktail parties set up, to changing dinner reservations, arranging for balloons for my friend's wife for her birthday and to even assisting me when I had a health scare! I will definitely be coming back to Grand Velas Boutique again soon this year! I have been coming to Cabo since 1988...a long time...and have stayed at many of the finer hotels (Montage, Palmilla, Esperanza, Los Ventanas, LeBlanc, etc) and Grand Velas Boutique beats the rest 100%!

The short version: Would give it six stars if I could. If there's any way you can visit the Grand Velas Boutique in Los Cabos, just do it. The longer version: Wow. What an experience. My girlfriend and I had never visited an establishment like this one, and we were so, so, SO glad we did. And if you have any apprehensions about staying at an all-inclusive (as we did!), you can banish them right now. This is a luxurious, five-star experience that will simply astonish you. The food is exceptional. The property is stunning. The facilities are immaculate. The weather is flawless. The views are breathtaking. And above all else, the service is so warm, friendly, thoughtful, kind, and joyful! It's that last part that I want to emphasize the most. Literally every single staff member we encountered at the Grand Velas Boutique was so lovely. We stayed for a week, and they quickly got to know us and anticipate our every desire. By the end of the week, the folks at the pool were bringing me an iced tea—with lemon and simple syrup, just how I like it—without me even having to ask. Since we spent nearly all our time poolside, allow me to give a special shout out to the pool staff. The guys at the bar—Armando, Victor, and Berzain—happily made all sorts of off-menu cocktails to our exact specifications. They even prepared some jalapeño-infused tequila at our request to plus-up our spicy margaritas! The staff serving us at the pool and at breakfast (which is right next to the pool) were just as awesome: Martha, Hector, Daniel, Jesus, Jose, Alberto, and I'm probably forgetting a couple of names. Hector and Martha have such a delightful sense of humor and kidded around with us all week. And just to give you a sense of how assiduous they are, Martha at one point came by with a microfiber wipe and spray offering to clean our sunglasses! And finally, our butler Gaby was incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We even asked her if we could borrow a pair of binoculars so that we could more closely observe the (many!) whales frolicking offshore. She sent them down to us at the pool, no problem! I could keep raving, and honestly, if you'd like to hear more, shoot me a message on this platform. But hopefully this gives you a good sense of the vibe. We're incredibly, incredibly fortunate we were able to visit. If you can go, you will never regret it.

My wife and are still reminiscing about the wonderful time we had at Grand Velas Boutique. The wonderful staff make us feel special from the moment we arrived. Each and every person was genuinely friendly, welcoming and went out of their way to make you feel special. The food was outstanding at both the Boutique and the Grand Velas that we walked to many times. I cannot overstate the professionalism of staff that work countless hours to make sure your experience leaves you wanting for nothing! We are definitely planning on returning!

I had visited this resort with my family previously, but returning in June 2024 to celebrate my honeymoon with my husband was an entirely different experience. He was absolutely blown away by the level of service and the exceptional cuisine – it exceeded anything he could have imagined. From the moment we arrived, they surprised us with thoughtful touches. They wished us a happy honeymoon on every dessert, our butler arranged a surprise romantic bedroom experience, and on our last night, they even organized a private beach dinner! The attention to detail was beyond words. The food was unlike anything we've ever tasted. Our waiter shared that the chef had begun preparing it the day before – that’s how dedicated they were to delivering perfection. We genuinely felt like royalty throughout our entire stay. We also loved interacting with the incredible staff members. Everyone we met was not only kind, but also professional, attentive, and easy-going. They made us feel at home and ensured we had everything we needed. The spa experience we booked was incredibly relaxing, and the facilities were absolutely gorgeous. The hotel itself is breathtaking, and we could go on and on about how wonderful our trip was. They truly helped make our honeymoon unforgettable. We now urge everyone we know to experience this resort at least once. The only thing we wish for next time is to see the resort host dancing nights with live music, such as bachata, salsa, or merengue. We think it would be a fun addition to the already amazing experience. We can’t wait to return as soon as possible!

This was our second visit to the Boutique hotel, and probably 10th to Grand Velas Cabo. An eleven hour door to door trip from NYC. Clearly there is a great benefit to repeat visits; they get to know you and they remember what you like. it makes the vacation even more enjoyable. Upon arrival we were greeted by General Manager Carlos Torres and Guest Relations Manager Monica Canul. Thank you for the royal welcome. We were also greeted with our choice of welcome drink. There are small sandwiches and snacks available at check-in, which took the edge off of our long trip. Our suite was a two room, two bathroom affair, with a large balcony. Having two full bathrooms on vacation is an ultimate luxury for me. Waiting for us was the phone charger that we had left on our April visit and I asked that they hold for our return. No asking, no searching - there it was. Every morning I enjoyed the most gorgeous sunrises. On past visits to the family hotel next door I had requested an Apple TV for streaming; when we arrived two new Apple TVs were plugged in and ready to go (their large TVs stream Netflix and Youtube - but we were able to watch NFL and some other things on the Apple TV - although not all streaming services work in Mexico). Other special treats awaited us. All were much appreciated. The suite was clean, and always made up on time - no returning from dinner to a pile of towels on the floor. We arrived a few days before Christmas, and the hotel was not busy, but became more so as the week went on. Although we are beach people, and spent our entire days on the beach (treated fabulously) I did notice that you could get first row pool seats at noon. No rushing down to save seats. As the week went on we did not notice crazy seat saving, it was a relaxed environment and it looked like good pool seats with umbrellas and fresh towels were always available. The pool was warm, warmer than in April it seemed, and it made going in on days in the 70s very comfortable. We did not love the breakfast the first visit. This time, a complete change, partially because we figured out that our waiter (the wonderful Hector, who could not do enough for us) could order some foods cooked to order - like pancakes, plain French toast and waffles. He also invented some egg dishes with us, and had them cooked perfectly. If you don't see what you want, ask (bagels, toast) - chances are they have it or they will get it for you. Our lunches on the beach were just as good as breakfast. Thank you Ulysses who remembered what we liked and made sure we were well taken care of. The beach menu also seemed bigger, and we happily tried some new things from the menu. All of our dinners were at the main hotel (5 in Luca - thank you Chef Lomonica and Manager Daniel (with the beautiful singing voice) for such an outstanding experience - this restaurant is one of the main reasons why we keep coming back to Grand Velas). All of our waiters, at dinner and on the beach were terrific. There is some magic in the hiring and training of the staff. Christmas dinner at Velas 10 was a disappointment (the prime rib reminded us of steakums, which is weird because the prime rib at the buffet was always delicious), but that's ok. Last time beach service started a bit late for us, but this time someone always came down around 10 with a bucket of ice (those large cubes!) and water - much appreciated. Happily I can report that one area of concern from the last visit was not a problem this visit - the music at the pool. I hear music louder than most people, and the "club" music at the pool bar (that we could clearly hear at the beach) drove me nuts. This time the music was much lower - although it was the same (basically, the same beat for 8 hours). We barely heard it this visit, except for one day when the wind took the sound to the beach. i appreciate that the music was turned down. I want to hear the sound of the waves when I am on the beach, and would happily use earphones when people are around if I was listening to something else. The music volume at breakfast was also turned down (thank you) but on most days it was 'easily listening, jazz' type music, and that went fine with breakfast (at a low volume). One missed note was that they played Christmas music after Christmas, which I think should be illegal. The Velas hotel next door had live music a couple of days (Latin, 70s/80s rock) and although it was fairly loud it was not annoying to me as the club music; the musicians played for a couple of hours and I enjoyed it. One of us used the gym for a couple of hours every day and enjoyed the clean, new, well-stocked facility, and the 24 hour availability. I wanted to paint a hat or bag, having read about others doing it, but it wasn't available my week, All in all it was a great week. Perfect weather, met nice people, saw lots of whales jumping, no real complaints about anything. This place is a winner. Congrats to Carlos and Monica on a job well done.
