The wife and I had a first in 17 year opportunity to get away without our daughter for a couples trip. I nailed it with reservations to Grand Isle Resort. The unit we stayed in was incredibly decorated, the grounds were well maintained. The 23 Compass was incredible. The Pina Coladas were perfect. Having said that, the Staff was the real standout. Everyone was friendly, remembered our names. Warmly greeted us at every opportunity. Always asking if we needed anything or had any questions. Paul’s wave and smile always made my day. Palapa’s could get busy, and you need to give them al little time, especially on evenings 23 is closed, but still. Great experience.

Hotel is about 20 minutes away from the airport, which is very small and is quick and easy!

Well maintained large villas and property.
The villas are gorgeous and well maintained. High end appliances with a washer and dryer which are great for a beach vacation. Housekeeping came daily at 10 am. The beach is lovely and the sand doesn’t get too hot or stick to you. Plenty of lounge chairs to go around....
The villas are gorgeous and well maintained. High end appliances with a washer and dryer which are great for a beach vacation. Housekeeping came daily at 10 am. The beach is lovely and the sand doesn’t get too hot or stick to you. Plenty of lounge chairs to go around. The greenery around the property is also well maintained and lush. It was a very quiet week. You don’t hear a thing. We slept well. If we had a problem, the maintenance guys literally came within minutes. We lost power a few times, but it only lasted for a few minutes. AC worked great and quiet. If you want to pay $30 a day, you can use your own private golf cart. We rented a car so we didn’t need it. There is no entertainment so if you’re looking for a Sandals type experience, you won’t find it here. They did offer something on Thanksgiving for the kiddos. Beautiful infinity pool. My only complaint was the food. It was not in MPO up to par with how classy the resort is. We had a few decent meals, but overall it could use improvement. The staff were all pleasant and courteous. Overall a very nice week.

We recently spent 10 days at Grand Isle and had a fabulous relaxing experience. The accommodation was spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The manager Joe welcomed us and made sure we had everything we required. He was present daily ensuring his guests were happy & satisfied. His team were friendly, hospitable and made our stay even better. We ate in both Palapa and 23N and both were excellent. We had some great servers at both restaurants, and the food was delicious too! The beach was clean and inviting and the sea warm. We had some pleasant walk around Emerald Bay throughout our stay. Thank you for a great holiday .

From the moment we arrived, I knew we picked the right place. Our suite was ready on arrival and our luggage was delivered before we arrived to the room. Champagne on arrival. Very friendly staff across the board. Food at the restaurant was so good that we ate many of our meals there. Snorkeling on site was excellent. The beach was lovely with plenty of lounge chairs and a lot of shade from palm trees. The place is spotless, quiet and the room very comfortable and spacious. Absolutely cannot find fault with anything. Parking lot has room for your rental car and there are security guards, cameras and locked gates. All of our excursion operators said this resort is the best on the island. I plan on returning next year to this hotel.

Grand Isle did not disappoint
If you are looking for rest and relaxation, you have found the spot. We spent 5 nights in a one bedroom beachfront villa, no complaints at all. I would however recommend using Open Table to book dinner reservations at 23 North prior to your arrival.
Review the $75 visitor fee.

We stayed at Emerald Bay Marina. We spent $300 at the 23 North Restaurant which was excellent. We also spent another $200 at the beach bar on the resort. All were excellent. The resort offers marina guests access to beach chairs, water sports, pool, etc for a $75 per person fee per day. I don’t want to pay $75 to swim in a pool or use a beach chair. So we didn’t use the facilities. I think you would attract more marina users if you charged a fee but a portion or all could be used as credit toward food and Bev. I am certain you could generate a nice revenue stream with this approach and attract more people from Marina. You have beautiful facilities. I am guessing not many people pay the $75 for use of a beach chair or swimming pool. I wish you would buy the marina and give it the TLC it deserves. So much potential
