Our stay at Grand Hyatt Bali was a mix of regrets and disappointments. While the resort offers some good amenities, many aspects fell below the general Grand Hyatt standards I have experienced elsewhere. Pros: - A separate, quiet pool for Grand Club residence guests. - Acceptable breakfast quality at the Grand Club Lounge. - Small but good sauna and an adjacent small pool area. - Convenient beach access. Cons: - Facilities in need of refurbishment—rooms, pools, and restaurants show aging signs - Reception and concierge staff's attitude: business-like, somewhat unfriendly - Transportation management is well below the expected standard for a 4-star hotel. We spent three nights at Grand Hyatt Bali, hoping for a relaxing experience with Bali’s sun. However, the resort leans heavily toward being family- and kid-friendly, which means it often felt crowded, except in designated quiet areas near the Club rooms. The only aspect that truly met Grand Hyatt standards was the breakfast at the Club Lounge. Special thanks to Ms. Ari at the Club Lounge for her professionalism and assistance during our stay. Awkward Experience with Transportation!! I would strongly advise against using the hotel’s transportation service unless absolutely necessary. The hotel claims to outsource its transportation services to third parties (however, under the hotel's management in general) The service leads to questionable pricing and inconsistent management. Here’s what happened: I needed a ride to the nearby five-star Mulia hotel, about less than 2 miles from Grand Hyatt Bali. The transportation staff provided two options: a "hotel car" for 285K IDR or a metered taxi for 150K IDR. Wanting a safe and reliable ride for my first car service in Bali, I chose the "hotel car" despite the higher price. After my meeting at Mulia, I asked their transportation service for a ride back. They simply arranged a metered taxi, which cost only 50K IDR— one-fifth of what Grand Hyatt charged me for the same short distance. Later, for our transfer to another Hyatt property in Eastern Bali (a long-distance trip), I again inquired about transportation. The staff showed me a printed price table indicating a cost of 1,500K IDR. My wife checked the Grab app, which showed an estimated 700K+ IDR. Upon questioning this discrepancy, the staff suddenly lowered the price to 1,000K IDR—a 500K IDR drop on the spot. This experience left me deeply disappointed in Grand Hyatt’s management. If the transportation service is outsourced and pricing is negotiable, why display a fixed price table at all? It felt unprofessional and almost scam-like, something I have never encountered at any other Hyatt property in over decades as a loyal customer. Final Thoughts Grand Hyatt Bali may be a decent option for families, but for those seeking a peaceful, high-standard resort experience, it falls short. The aging facilities, inconsistent service, and unreliable transportation left a lot to be desired. Would I return? Maybe not.

The setting is beautiful as are the lovely gardens. The grounds and beach area are the highlight of this property. Likely, many young families would be happy here with the amenities offered to them. As older folks, we enjoyed the serenity and comfort of the club pool which is very attractive. As a more discerning traveler, I felt sad that the facility has been left to deteriorate. The checkin area for Hyatt status clients is one’s first impression. Has water stains on the ceiling and very dated and unattractive logos in bright colors which doesn’t match the vibe of the hotel. There is a large construction project, which will someday offer one updated area but it has amazingly tacky and unattractive walls separating the grounds from the construction area. Most of the roofing tiles are discolored and areas were patched rather than repaired. There has been no/little ongoing improvements. The lounge chairs by the main pool were frayed and the blocks with the numbers were worn giving off a vibe that no one cares about the details. Sadly, it just seems tired. It’s a shame that ongoing updates and maintenance has been lacking . Our room lacked bedside outlets on one side, maybe there was one for the whole bedroom area (we were in a club suite). Then my husband slipped and fell in the bathroom which has smoothly polished marble floors. I wish that the management we spoken to had been more helpful. I left more detailed feedback on the form that was sent to us. We were hours away from going to the airport for a 24 hour travel day and after icing his broken toe and going to the restaurant the manager suggested for a light lunch (it only had cake) , then trying to find a second one down a long flight of stairs, not finding it, limping back up and then down to the Japanese restaurant only to find that it has closed was an unfortunate way to end our three weeks in Indonesia. Instead of listening attentively, the manager should have helped to arrange lunch near the checkout desk and bellhop area instead of sending us on a wild goose chase. I will say that the people in the Japanese restaurant are lovely and that setting was very pleasant. The food was also excellent.

Nice hotel great location on beach staff are genuinely polite and efficient,it’s a large complex and navigation around is a bit tricky if you don’t have a good sense of direction, the room was decent enough ,the worst thing about this place is the food ,as a vegan for 35 years ,the options were pitiful, the pizza was bland the other restaurant I tried had cauliflower and spring rolls it was like they couldn’t care less about the menu ,and after 2 days eating there I was sick of the food options and by the time I got on the plane a few hours after leaving i was badly vomiting on the plane and was nearly taken off at Dubai ,(took me a week to recover,)because of my condition the Japanese restaurant was the best of the lot and another restaurant was closed for refurbishment, even though this is a good hotel I would not return due to the food,I and my wife had two massages but were not a patch on the ones we had at the Hyatt regency days earlier ,the regency is a better hotel but not as good coastline location, the food and massage get 1 star, hotel gets 4 ,I also noticed a lot coughing including my masseuse and I fell ill with a respiratory illness shortly after I am still off work 2 weeks later

We checked in and were told to wait for our room to be ready. That’s when we wondered off on the property. As soon as we left the lobby, we were greeted by loud jackhammer noise. They are renovating one of their restaurants. We returned to the front desk to complain about the noise. The desk manager offered a small compensation but we were not satisfied with the offer since you can hear the noise all day even from the poolside area. The property manager named Philips came to see us the following day but offered us even less than the first manager. He did not want to offer more or acknowledge that the resort should be more transparent by indicating on their website that loud construction noise will be heard on the property during the day since construction will go on until the end of the year. He was useless or poorly trained. It’s a shame since the vast majority of the resort staff is very accommodating, friendly and always smiling.
