The Goldwynn was exactly what we needed for our babymoon. My husband and I were looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway, and this hotel delivered on all accounts. Despite the property being fully booked, it never felt crowded or chaotic—unlike what you might experience at Baha Mar or Atlantis. The hotel itself is beautiful, with spacious, well-appointed rooms. The beds and pillows were heavenly—easily one of the comfiest hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the location was ideal—just a 10-minute ride to downtown, close to the airport, and very convenient for visiting Baha Mar if you’re looking for nightlife. The only downsides were the slow service at the restaurant (though the staff remained friendly) and the high cost of food and drinks, which is expected in the Bahamas. Although we weren’t traveling with our children this time, we noticed that the resort is very kid-friendly, and we will definitely bring them on a future trip. Overall, it was an excellent stay, and we highly recommend Goldwynn for a peaceful getaway in the Bahamas!

The Goldwyn is a beautiful boutique hotel with luxury and relaxation all in one. The rooms are beautiful and the property is very well maintained. The proximity to the BahaMar is excellent for your gambling and shopping needs. There are plenty of chairs, no need to save any, great service on beach and pool area with a lovely outdoor restaurant with an excellent menu. You can get specialty coffees in the morning, specialty drinks at night while relaxing in their lounge area by the restaurant. The pool is perfect size and heated. This is truly a great get away.

The Goldwynn hotel is a small, luxury and boutique beachfront hotel w/amazing views from the moment you step in to the lobby. We had a one bedroom oceanfront room (room 511) and had great sunset views each night. We felt very welcomed by the hotel staff from the first day we got there and everyone was so friendly. The only downside was that it only had one restaurant onsite and it was very expensive. There are some food vendors on the beach during the day where you can get true Bahamian food which is a must try. The beach and pool chairs can use some cushions to make them comfy and a hot tub would be a nice to have addition for a resort at this price.

Just a beautiful resort with great amenities and very friendly staff. This hotel is near Baha Mar, but without the casino, high end shops, and hundreds of people. There is a more quiet and relaxed atmosphere, but still high end. My only complaint was there were no outlets by the bed for plugging in a CPAP, and the charging ports were all USB-A, not C (common for most hotels at the time of this review). Maintenance came up the next morning and moved the machine onto the bedside table and plugged it into an outlet behind a panel behind the headboard (got to use the machine but lost the use of a reading light). Still, a minor problem for a hotel that you will love.

The resort is beautiful! The room was very nice with a huge balcony, a great bed and we really enjoyed having the kitchenette for snacks as food is very expensive in the Bahamas. The location of the hotel is good as well and close to the Bahamar without all the kids/noise. The hotel is quiet, making it easy to sleep in on vacation. The pool and beach are also lovely with plenty of chairs. The food at the resort was just o.k., but we had a car and were able to go out to other restaurants. Several times the outdoor restaurant was out of ingredients to make a item. We did not experience food outages at other restaurants we drove to. The coffee bar was very good. We did not try the main restaurant at the hotel. There was only one. Food choices are limited here. Where the hotel falls short is on service, except for housekeeping. They were very good. We have stayed in many 5 star Caribbean resorts and the service here is lacking for a resort that considers themselves this level. The staff are very friendly, but I think Bahamians are friendly in general. It's great to be friendly but it helps if they actually provide a service. At the beach one day, we had three workers watch us get towels and move our chairs under an umbrella on the beach while they seemed quite content to watch us. After we had gotten the chairs in position, one ask if we needed another towel? Geee...thanks, uh no. One lady at the front desk was very rude when I entered the resort from the front door looking for a lobby bathroom, demanding to know what my room number was in the way of a greeting. Before we left to go home I questioned her rude behavior. She stated security had called the front desk to question me. I think she was lying as I was a nicely dressed woman sporting a Goldwynn bracelet ( your room key) and carrying a Goldywynn water bottle from our room. Also we had just driven in the gate to the hotel which was opened by security when they saw our wristbands.I still have no idea what got into her, or why she though it was o.k. to treat a guest this way. It certainly put a damper on my vacation, and I hope she does not treat another guest this way. One shinning star was Kevin at the pool/beach. He was awesome! He went out of his way to be sure you had everything you needed. Bottom line between the rude front desk worker and below par service we would not stay at the Goldwynn again. It's a shame because it really is a beautiful resort.

The property itself was great. The hospitality was off the charts. Had breakfast at OIA a few times. The portions were appropriate and the food was top notch. Ask for Miltiadis. He was one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Very professional and personable!

The room and property are fantastic. The pool/beach area is gorgeous with great opportunities to snorkel/paddle board/kayak. The drinks, gym, and some staff members were fantastic. However, that is where our good things to say end. My husband and I came to stay for our honeymoon and ended up cutting our trip short from 7 days to 5. Our first red flag was when we were nearly scammed out another $1400 incidental fee, by someone calling us on THE HOTEL PHONE claiming they were from the hotel‘s accounts department. They knew our room number, last name, last four of the credit card, and the dates we were staying… If that’s not a breach of personal information I don’t know what is. Food at this resort is atrocious. If it wasn’t poorly tasting it came out wrong/missing items. While minor, they were consistently wrong. Just to name a few incidents: We ordered truffle fries and received plain, frozen looking unseasoned fries. We ordered a chicken sandwich which was advertised as having toppings on it and it came plain. We ordered fresh squeezed orange juice and it had clearly been cut with water, watering it down immensely. The buttermilk pancakes and pure maple syrup (had to be aunt jemimah’s) were a disgrace. Seriously the worst pancakes I have ever had. We’re from the north and can tell you that maple syrup was not anything more the high fructose corn syrup and caramel color. Which no big deal, but don’t advertise pure maple syrup without delivering that promise. We were also charged differently for things than advertised/what we ordered. Only by a few dollars so it wasn’t worth the complaint, but again not what you expect from a hotel advertising themselves as higher class. The cherry on top was our shower. A beautiful rain, glass door infinity style shower. Obviously this shower has no buffer to keep the water in as it doesn’t need to. However, when the drain clogs and water starts rushing out of the shower, it turns into quite the issue. My husband and I had to pause our shower every few minutes to let the water drain. Standing soapy and cold for 3-5 minutes each time as the water drained. We called the front desk and they offered to send someone up immediately, we asked for a few minutes as we were still wet and getting ready. We told them they could send someone twice and no one ever came to fix it. Overall, we were disappointed especially because it was our honeymoon and we had been looking forward to it for months. We understand flukes happen, but this resort will not succeed unless the one consistently awful thing changes, the food.
