We absolutely adored this resort. The beach cottages we well appointed and super comfortable we loved the private lagoons and the secret hideaway feel of the property. I don’t think you will get anything like this anywhere else in Jamaica. This is a property that is truly loved. We loved the jerk shack and beach bar best for food. The staff are so friendly, helpful and an attentive without being overwhelming- which we loved. If there was anything I would suggest to focus on would be the food. Some stuff was amazing- jerk anything and the breakfast was awesome- but the food could be better. Spa was awesome, property - beautiful and well maintained. Rooms, very well appointed, service to none. Definitely recommend this place - and the lineage makes it super cool!

Jamaica was our honeymoon destination. Originally we had booked a Sandals resort and then changed when a friend suggested Goldeneye. It was perfect. First off, the staff is unmatched when it comes to service. Friendly faces greeted us everywhere we went and tended to our every need (or ridiculous want). Pops, Stephen and Kevin were absolute stand outs in that area. We stayed in Spanish Elm and it was a peaceful oasis. The first morning we had room service delivered to our outdoor dining area and it was spectacular. My husband and I cooked in the outdoor kitchen, enjoyed the outdoor shower and lounged in the lagoon. We asked for two single kayaks, instead of a tandem, and it was delivered quickly. A lot of time was spent paddling around the lagoon. The shower down on the lagoon landing is lovely as well. The air conditioning didn’t work well in the main bedroom so we stayed in the 2nd bedroom with no problem. Even though we were right on the lagoon, we spent most of our time at button beach (our favorite food too!) or at the pool. The drinks from the bar are fantastic (we loved the Goldeneye and the Lime in the Coconut) and the staff was quick to move our umbrellas to keep us in the shade when needed. The only time we left the resort was to go to Blue Hole, turtle release and then we asked Pops to take us into town for lunch. If you can request him for outings or a shuttle, do it. Pops made our trip complete. Loved him. I only wished we could have stayed longer!

This was our third visit to Golden Eye within four years. We were concerned that it may have changed but it did not disappoint, it may all our expectations As previously, we stayed in a beach hut which is a wonderful experience.. The hexagonal room with en-suite bathroom and veranda is on stilts. As it is amongst the trees, the breeze comes through the wooden louvred windows making air conditioning , although provided , unnecessary. We enjoyed lazing on Button beach with the Bamboo bar and restaurant. The food at the beach is the best at Golden Eye. The jerk chicken, garlic prawns and curried snapper were all delicious. Breakfast and evening meals at the Bizot restaurant with wonderful views across the Caribbean Sea are also good. The food choices are a little confusing with room service being the option for 2 out of our 5 evenings. The Gazebo restaurant which was a fine dining restaurant on our first visit in 2020 is now under used. It is a pity as it is situated on a cliff overlooking the bay and with the wooden bridge over the lagoon lit up would make a great restaurant setting. The real strength of Golden Eye is its staff. They are all wonderful whether the driver meeting you at the airport, the gardeners happy to explain about the different trees, all the restaurant and bar staff, they are always cheerful, helpful and proud of working at Golden Eye. This is not a resort, although it has all the features such as accommodation, many swimming pools and sporting facilities, it is in a class of its own. Long before it became common to consider sustainability & eco friendly travel , Chris Blackwell had the vision to develop a very special and magical place. Golden Eye is simply a tropical hide away that will put you under its spell.

Goldeneye is the type of place you miss before you even leave and long to come back to as many times as you are able to, if you are lucky enough to visit more than once. Whether staying by the lagoon or beach, in a hut, cottage, or villa; you are sure to have a unique and special experience at this unique and special place about 2 hours from Montego Bay. From the wonderful staff (Special shoutout to Glen at Shabeen!), to the delicious food (The beach bar at button beach for lunch CANNOT be missed!), to the many different ways to enjoy your day (Kayaking on the lagoon with sea turtles, snorkeling in the cove, relaxing by the pool or on button beach, enjoying a break from the heat in your comfortable room, etc.); Goldeneye is a one of a kind place for those looking to experience Jamaica beyond the inauthentic all inclusive resorts you will pass by on your way to paradise. We look forward to returning to this magical place again soon!

We visited GoldenEye in late May 2024. Staying in a lagoon cottage had been on our bucket list for a long time. We've now been to all three Island Outpost Properties and this is the absolute best! I'll just say that the experience far outweighed my expectations. This is a must see for anyone with a love of music, sea, and adventure. It is situated just past Ochi with a hidden entry way. The drive to Reception was filled with anticipation. Patricia greeted us with a signature Pineapple Rum drink made with Chris Blackwell's special rum. Immediately I was over stimulated by things I couldn't wait to do! Paddle Board, Kayak, Swim, Play dominos, read a book by the sea. We stayed in lagoon cottage 4 A which I believe is the last of the lagoon cottages before you reach Button Beach. It was close to the Playscape where we enjoyed the Full Moon drumming and bonfire. A delightful session of African drumming accompanying great conversation with staff and other delightful guests. Our Lagoon cottage came with 2 Kayaks, two lagoon front chaise lounges and unobstructed view of the sea turtles. Every morning Patrick and Marlon would ensure we have our paddles and a dry towel for the water sports. The Field Spa is amazing. Megan's Pimento and warm Ginger thai massage was better than any massage I've had stateside. We even rode the kayaks to our spa experiences. After we got to our room a knock on the door was a delivery of fresh bananas, mangos and papayas. The mangos were amazing. Our room came with a french press, delish coffee, milk and some tea. We enjoyed coffee each morning on the lagoon while waiting for the sea turtle to do its laps. They provide you with an activities list for each day. We did the snorkel tour with Romaine in the morning. Now let's talk about some of the people who made the memories! Glen and Jason at Shabean bar! They made great drinks and conversation. Aston (aka Pecos) at Bizot Bar! Tamara the concierge! What a gem. She reaches out prior to arrival and provides you with the WhatsApp # to contact her. I probably drove her batty with my questions but she was able to provide answers in a jiffy. They are blessed to have her on their team. She arranges the spa treatments, dinner reservations, transportation. Take time an appreciate the art, the nature, the smiles and every ripple in the sea. We had planned to go to Dunn's but I couldn't imagine leaving the resort for half a day. Prior to this stay there had only been one vacation when I cried upon leaving, Golden Eye has now won the status of the second place to make me never want to leave.

My girlfriend and I visited Goldeneye for 5 nights and had a truly amazing stay in one of the Beach Huts. Pops drove us from MBJ and he was the best driver and provided a lot of insight, fun facts, and Jamaican fruit/snacks along the 2 hour journey! You have to request Pops to drive you! The property is truly beautiful and never feels crowded. Button Beach is lovely and Donald and O’Marsh in the watersports area helped us with paddleboarding, kayaks, etc. We also enjoyed a nice lunch off the property at Chris’s Cafe which was a delicious authentic meal. Goldeneye had many unique experiences setup for the guests like a Tea Time with a local herbalist, Rasta sunset band, and a Sunset Rum party. These were all awesome experiences included in your stay. Goldeneye also had themed dinner nights like BBQ night with musical entertainment and curry night! The food was really good and we loved eating at Bizot Bar overlooking the ocean. Kaydean (waitress) and Trevor (bartender) were great! Shabeen is an ideal place to watch the sun set and is a fun place for after dinner drinks and reggae/rap music. Glen (bartender) was the man and made us feel like family. Goldeneye is a serene and beautiful place and we enjoyed the paddling in the lagoon and seeing the many majestic sea turtles. The FieldSpa is a must and is very relaxing! We had a fantastic couple’s massage and the staff at the spa were great. Goldeneye is truly a special place and we would heavily recommend it to those interested. The only critique is that it is a little expensive for food/drinks (US city prices) but the quality is there. We definitely want to come back!

We love everything about this place—the setting, atmosphere, amazing staff, activities, food... and we just had the pleasure of visiting the Field Spa for two of the best massages we've ever had. Our massage therapists were Karen and Karine and they are both fabulous. A relaxing, therapeutic, and spiritual experience — 10 stars!
