We came here for peace and quiet, to escape the noise of the city, and to reconnect with nature, but were greeted with an incredibly loud wedding event with the worst music selection possible. There was nowhere in the entire resort where you could escape from the clamor. For over a grand a night, definitely not worth it. If you do decide to stay here, best to call ahead and ensure that there aren’t any wedding events during your stay. Otherwise, bring hearing protection.

We visited the Four Seasons Chiang Mai in May 2023 and recommend this property to all our friends wanting to visit Chiang Mai. It is roughly 20/25 minutes outside of the main city and a lovely escape from the hustle & bustle but close enough to easily go in for dinner or just to explore. We booked a Pool Villa and 10/10 recommend this upgrade. We’ve been to properties all over the world with private plunge pools and this is one of the best. The pool is huge, completely private and has a stunning view of nature. We also enjoyed the complimentary offerings of the hotel - bathing water buffalo was very cool and the gym is nicely renovated and quite large. The food on property is great and we also liked nearby food offerings for a change of scenery. Mae’s cafe across the road is a great little coffee stand and we also enjoyed dinner across the street at Terra for a break in asian cuisine. Property suggestion: Our only suggestion is to waive the fee to use the tennis court. Most properties of this caliber do not charge you extra to simply use the tennis facility and we found this a bit annoying. It should be covered by the rate of the room or daily resort fees.

Comfortably snuggled into rice fields and wooded hills, the Four Seasons Chiang Mai stole our hearts for its kindness, spirituality and tranquility. Staying for six nights in a beautiful pool villa, this was our midway stop on my 40th birthday 'Asia trip' and we were immediately welcomed in as if we were old friends coming home. Throughout our visit the friendliness and kindness of our hosts was extraordinary, and for us was the most remarkable aspect of our stay, even beating the true beauty of the nature and surroundings of the resort. On reading through others' excellent reviews of this property I can only offer my further endorsement. Previously described as 'Heaven on Earth' I completely agree! The villa was spacious, furnished in true Four Seasons' understated luxury style whilst encompassing quintessential Thai flavours. Our needs and wants were anticipated before we were aware of these ourselves, and resort hosts made sure to look after us and ensure that we were happy. The villa's infinity pool, disappearing into the wooded brook beyond, complemented by the trickling waters surrounding the villa itself, invoked an immediate sense of peacefulness. The calling song of the cicadas, the trickling of waters and the occasional twitter of birds were the only sounds to be heard in this tranquil resort. The main pool and adult pool, whilst architecturally magnificent, seem to blend effortlessly and completely into the rice fields. Certainly a refreshing dip during hot season, and we were often the only guests around. Whilst the resort and grounds are truly an 'instagram-ers dream' I'm hopeful this resort will remain off the radar and mostly in the sights of guests looking for peace, connection and recuperation. The resort lobby is breathtaking, and complemented by floral mandalas which then continue throughout the resort's gardens and walkways. The restaurants are similarly beautifully designed and the quality of the food served for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner was out-of-this-world. A well-curated wine and cocktail menu meant we were always well-refreshed, and the bar hosts are clearly talented at their trade. As we were celebrating my 40th birthday, this was marked on many occasions in different ways, and I was certainly made to feel very special. Our dinner at Rice Barn was particularly unique, as was the afternoon tea at Khao, not to mention the various birthday cake treats! Our visit to the Spa offered an incredible massage and we both very highly rate the massage itself and the relaxing ambience of the elegant facility. We genuinely want to offer our deepest thanks to all of our hosts at the resort. In particular (but my sincere apologies for any misspellings!) Jatu who took extra special care of accompanying us around the resort, Jimmy who greeted us at the airport and ensured we were happy throughout our stay, Phu who looked after us at Rice Barn and for our villa meals, May and Ice who crafted our cocktails at Ratree, Amy and Yu at North, and of course our newly-made friends Joy and Alecia at Khao. We are also hugely appreciative of the housekeeping team who came twice daily to look after us and our villa - whilst we were unable to capture any names, we hold in high regard the hard work that was so swiftly, meticulously and professionally performed around us to keep us happy, comfortable, and well-stocked! Thank you so much for a lovely stay. The Four Seasons brand is now even more cemented in our lives, and your resort and hosts in Chiang Mai in our hearts! We will return!

This has to be one of the prettiest hotels you will ever stay at. The setting cannot be beaten. Beautiful gardens. Complete with water buffalo. The rooms are great - we paid for an upgrade to a pool villa on arrival and didnt regret it. Huge room with a huge plunge pool. Excellent. Not sure we would have enjoyed the Garden Pavilion we had booked as there would have been no pool or view. Amazing pool with attentive service. Great activities (eg pottety) but expensive. Excellent staff, they make everyone feel special. The breakfast and Thai restaurant are very good. The North (western style) restaurant frankly did not cut in terms of food quality. Otherwise, perfect.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this because we are about to check out of this most heavenly property and I am going to miss this place like crazy. Our stay here was the most memorable , most luxurious , most elegant experience of our lives ; a lot of superlatives I know but well deserved . Suffice it to say, we have traveled the world and stayed at the most high end resorts and hotels - including the iconic Ritz Paris - and still the Four Seasons Chiang Mai gets our vote for number one best property on the planet without a doubt . I’ll start with the service . The staff became like our family always greeting us with the utmost of warmth and hospitality . Special shout out to Naporn who greeted us at check in with such professionalism and warmth . Ashok Nair the director of rooms was always a delight to interact with . The rooms are the most spectacular I’ve ever seen so clearly he’s doing a fabulous job . We loved loved loved Alisa who served us hand and foot at the daily breakfast which again was the best buffet breakfast I’ve ever had featuring both international and Asian specialties . The Thai food was exquisite - nothing like it and even the French toast which I tried based on waitresses recommendation was better than anything I’ve ever had in the US - the birthplace of French toast. But back to Alisa - I digress - she was just the sweetest and always made us feel welcome , loved and served us from her heart . Loved the staff at the pool especially Sun and the bartenders there who made us the best tasting cocktails . Happy hour prices made it even more enticing lol 😂 Speaking of cocktails, I will never forget how quickly our old fashioned drinks came after we ordered them while having dinner one night at the restaurant North . I think they were at our table within a record speed of 30 seconds . We also loved Pok the director of food and beverages who on a number of occasions stopped what he was doing to carve out time to chat with us . Just the loveliest guy and who contributed to making our breakfast experiences a wonderful way to start the day . The gym attendants were also the sweetest guys bringing us cold towels and always greeting us with smiles and sincere positivity . Loved everyone at the spa especially the lady who gave me best mani-pedi of my life . Now I can fly home feeling well polished and well-groomed . We loved the concierge Jimmy who spoke impeccable English and was always eager to help . As for the rooms , i could spend an hour just on that subject . We spent a little extra to get the pool villa and it was best decision of my life . The water features flanking both sides of the villa made for a feng shui experience like no other . I loved the massive canopy crowning the top of the bed making it fit for royals . The bathroom makes you gasp when you see it , also an architectural masterpiece designed with the most thoughtfulness . Loved the sky lights throughout , the beautifully carved terrazzo sinks , the total privacy you have because of the vanities being set up back to back , the beautiful soaking tub overlooking the outside garden , the dual outdoor shower , rendering a most indulgent shower experience , and the massive pool with hot tub plus gazebo seating for outdoor dining . The list is endless . I loved the open lay out of the room so you could see all the way into the most luxurious bathroom from the opposite end of the suite . That coupled with the 15 foot towering ceilings made the villa feel all the more spacious . Most of all I loved that the rooms are decorated in authentic Thai style paying homage to the local culture and embracing all its most stylish attributes . Oh and I forgot to mention I checked out the very basic standard rooms here , and they were anything but basic . Rest assured still Fabulous and impeccably decorated :) only reason I checked them was in case that’s what I book for my family when I return being that I’ll be on a tighter budget since I’m treating ti that . Yikes ! What’s also amazing about the resort is the abundance of activities they offer , allowing you to enjoy the resort without ever having to leave while still experiencing the beauty of the Thai culture through such quintessentially thai traditions as rice planting , yoga and meditation sessions etc . I mean why would you want to leave the resort . We tried our best not to . I am definitely coming back again to bring my elderly parents because every human needs to experience this once in a lifetime vacation. If I ever was asked where I’d like to spend my final days I’d choose this place and probably die with a big smile on my face . Ok that’s a little morbid but you get the point . Do yourself a favor and book here without any hesitation . I cannot wait to return next year :) Until then keep doing what you’re doing Four Seasons Chiang Mai . You have a real winning formula that every hotel resort in the world should emulate .

he Hotel and Service is unique. A gem in the north. The organized all activities for us and i can highly recommend this. Way better than any other excursions we have done before. We got in touch with the Hotel before our stay and planned the days together. In the evening we also had dinner in rim’s thai kitchen in the hotel. It was soooooo delicious and really entertaining. A night to remember.
