We stayed for 4 nights here in February to celebrate our anniversary and other professional milestones and boy did they not disappoint. From beginning to end, all the encounters with staff made this trip exceptional. Mr. Diego Stembert and his team have gone above and beyond with genuine and personable service true to the four seasons brand. Thank you! We were invited to the Wednesday meet the managers get together with other guests at the spa (wine and hors d'oeuvres). So we got a chance to meet all of them in person. We were touched and wowed. There was no sales pitch or some ulterior agenda. Literally just a casual meet and greet. It was so refreshing and I was grateful for the opportunity to meet and thank them in person.
Room
- We were graciously upgraded from a resort view to ocean view suite on the 3rd floor. We were welcomed with veggies and hummus platter + presecco and chocolate covered strawberries with champagne! The views were spectacular, space was comfortable, balcony with lounge chairs and heated private pool were luxurious. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Came with a microwave and dining table so you can have simple meals and snack.
- Room comes with a bath robes, beach bag, bath salts, complimentary nespresso and Keurig coffee, water refills and much more! They provided complimentary banana bread and hand delivered chocolate bon bons our first night.
- They cleaned our room when we were out in the morning then also replenished drinks and refreshed our room mid day.
- Their attention to detail is impressive. One of the days, the ladies who replenished our room left a book mark on top of our books and lens wipes next to our glasses.
Food
- We tried all the places at four seasons. Literally can’t go wrong with any of them. Food is fresh and delicious.
- Sunset lounge has live music at night. Oalie 360 who perform on Wednesdays and Fridays was so good!
- In room dining was attentive and delicious.
- If you want to try other places, all the local restaurants are very good. The rumors are true! Straw hat, barclay’s, and jacala’s is just a short walk along meads bay.
- Other restaurants are a quick taxi ride.
- We got lucky with reservations as the concierge service was able to make them for us on the day of. I was told however this is an exception to a lot of the popular restaurants as they are often booked up. So if you are coming during peak season, definitely book the restaurants in advance especially for the nice views!
Beaches and pool
- There is a station for each pool and beach where the staff will set up your lounge chairs, provide water. There is sunscreen and hand sanitizer provided. You can order drinks and food!
- Sunset pool: their beautiful infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Adult only. Temperature is perfect. Special shout out to DELL who serviced this station. He was incredibly attentive, but not overbearing, personable, warm, and adjusted the sun shade throughout the afternoon so we were comfortable. He really stands. We were out there just for a few hours in the afternoon on our second day. We ran into him in the halls on our last day and he still remembered our names. He is the best one!
- Aleta pool: overlooking meads bay. they got floats, floor chess board and foos ball table. Lots of cabanas available to reserve.
- Bamboo pool: their kiddie pool next to meads bay. It is perfect for littles and situated next to meads bay so you can enjoy both the pool and beach without much walking. They provide all beach toys!
- Meads bay and Barnes bay: Beach is so pretty. the sand is so soft. There’s like no bugs or even that ocean stench you can get sometimes in beach towns.
- To people complaining about the beach when it was double red flag conditions. That is called Mother Nature. No money or luxury can predict or control that. If you want to plan for it, maybe call the resort a few days before and inquire so you can plan ahead.
Facility:
- tennis court, basketball court, small soccer field, work out and spin room with plenty of towels and water cartridges. Adjacent to the gym is an outdoor work out area with weights.
- Hubby took advantage of private tennis lessons and tennis clinic with Calyde. He was fantastic.
- Spa: they have their own infinity pool in there.
- We didn’t come with kids, but they have a kids club and activities for the littles. Saw a lot of families.
- The whole resort is spacious, private, well kept. Nice for an easy stroll, plenty of places to sit and hang out day and night.
Front desk and Concierge service
- we used their app to use the concierge service. It is not a bot! It’s like your own personal assistant you can text. A person will text you back! So convenient.
- They concierge service will make it happen! We overheard other guests asking for a baby monitor, a doctors visit, etc. they are at your service and will go to great lengths to make your stay comfortable.
- We were supposed to check out at 12. We didn’t have to leave the resort until like 2-3 though. Without even asking, they offered if we wanted to stay in our rooms until we left since there was not another guest checking into our room that night. This was so considerate of them.
We hope to be back and bring the rest of the family next time. Thank you for your hospitality and thoughtful accommodations.

My husband and I chose the Four Seasons Anguilla for our honeymoon based on glowing recommendations from friends and family who had previously visited the island. We arrived with high expectations, excited to experience what we thought would be a luxurious and relaxing week in paradise. Unfortunately, our stay was riddled with issues, and while there were some highlights, the negatives far outweighed them.
The Check-In Experience
Things started poorly as the check-in experience was terrible. We had booked an Oceanview Studio through American Express and were informed we’d been upgraded "two levels" as a benefit of booking through Amex. While this initially sounded exciting, the "upgrade" turned out to be a room near the kids’ club and family pool with no ocean view—completely unsuitable for a honeymoon. We made it clear to the concierge that this was not what we booked and requested the room we had reserved. After some back-and-forth and a frustrating 2-3 hour wait, we were finally placed in the Oceanview Studio we had originally booked. For a property of this caliber—and especially for a honeymoon—this experience was unacceptable. We wasted half a day waiting on the room that we originally booked.
The Beach and Pool
We were disappointed to learn upon arrival that ocean swimming during winter months (January to May) is unpredictable due to rough waters and red-flag conditions. This was a significant letdown as we’d been looking forward to enjoying the beach. It’s something the resort should disclose more prominently to guests. If you are looking to swim in the ocean, we would highly suggest that you call the hotel before booking and find out which months are best for ocean swimming. If you do not ask, they will not disclose it.
Additionally, securing a spot at the Sunset Pool, the most scenic pool on the property, was a daily challenge. With only around 40 loungers, we had to wake up at 7 AM just to reserve chairs. This lack of availability made the experience feel more stressful than relaxing. There was a higher demand than usual as people were not sitting by the beach due to the sea conditions. Therefore, both pools were crowded and the pool staff couldn't service properly. There was a waitlist for the sunset pool which didn't really follow any particular order. You just had to keep your eyes on the chairs to make sure you could grab a spot when someone would leave.
Poolside service is a 10/10 at the Sunset pool when Dell is present. If Dell is not there to manage the other workers then the service is a 4/10. On a day Dell was not present. My husband ordered a glass of Whispering Angel & an ice tea lemonade which took over 30 minutes to get. Then he ordered another glass of Whispering Angel, which took 40 minutes, where the glass was delivered dirty and 1/3 of the glass filled. He walked the glass back to the bar at the sunset lounge and told them that the glass was dirty and there’s some missing. They poured him a new chilled glass. At $35 a glass you expect timely service. The service is not up to par with other Four Seasons resorts that we have encountered.
Dining Experiences
Dining was hit or miss. While Half Shell was exceptional in both food and service—so much so that we dined there three times—other experiences fell short. At Sunset Lounge, I ordered a salad, clearly specifying my nut allergy, only to be served a salad with nuts. Though they corrected it and removed it from the bill, this kind of oversight is alarming, especially for those with allergies. Service overall at the pools was inconsistent—excellent when Dell was managing but subpar otherwise.
The Room
The Oceanview Studio itself was underwhelming in terms of upkeep. Dust was noticeable on lamps and surfaces, the bathroom wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, and coffee cups from the café were left in the room all week. We had to repeatedly request basic amenities like towels and shower gel. The air conditioning inexplicably shut off every night at 2 AM, leaving the room uncomfortably hot. The minibar wasn’t restocked during our stay, and overall, housekeeping felt far below Four Seasons’ standards.
The Spa
We booked a couples massage at the spa, and unfortunately, the experience was a complete disappointment. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a cold, unwelcoming lobby and directed to the locker rooms, which, while functional, felt more like those at an upscale gym—nothing particularly luxurious or impressive. After changing into robes, we returned to the lobby, where we sat on stiff chairs in awkward silence alongside other guests while naked in our robes, with barely any music to create ambiance. We sat awkwardly with the other spa guests waiting for our names to be called. It was a strange experience and we all felt uncomfortable.
When it was time for the massage, we were escorted upstairs to the treatment room. Throughout the massage, we could hear conversations and footsteps from downstairs, which completely disrupted the experience. This level of noise is unacceptable for a spa, especially one associated with the Four Seasons brand.
After the massage, we were sent back to the locker room to shower or change. The entire experience lacked the attention to detail and tranquility expected from a luxury spa. We went to pay the bill and were shocked that this lackluster experince exceeded $1,200. We felt genuinly ripped off and taken advantage of.
Management Response
We spoke with the manager, Tre, about our numerous concerns, including the spa and overall mismanagement throughout our stay. While he was polite and offered partial compensation for the massage and a complimentary dinner at Half Shell, it did little to make up for the overall experience.
The Positives
To be fair, there were a few bright spots during our stay:
The location of the property offers stunning ocean and sunset views.
Half Shell was a standout, with incredible food and friendly, hardworking staff.
The café serving coffee and smoothies was a convenient and pleasant addition.
Dell’s poolside service at the Sunset Pool was exceptional when he was present.
People of Anguilla are the kindest people in the word.
We felt safe the whole time.
Final Thoughts
Overall, our honeymoon at the Four Seasons Anguilla fell far below expectations. The mismanagement, poor service, and lack of attention to detail made this stay not only disappointing but also frustrating. The experience did not align with the premium price tag or the Four Seasons brand. If we could go back in time, we would choose a different resort.
To those considering this property, I hope this review helps set realistic expectations. If you’re looking for a honeymoon or special getaway, I would strongly recommend exploring other options.

Amazing experience at the FS Anguilla. Best check in experience of any hotel we’ve ever stayed at (loved the welcome drinks!). Ocean front room was incredible , the lobby bar and pool were incredible although we spent majority of time at the beach. Beach was beautiful - soft white sand, clear turquoise water. Loved that they gave us canteens of water all day and menus right away to order from.
My ONLY recommendation would be putting cushions on the beach chairs for added comfort. Otherwise flawless stay!

We loved the breakfast and dinner at Salt. The beach was soft and white sand for a mile. The ocean is turquoise blue and warm. The bamboo restaurant was terrific for lunch everyday. The sunset lounge was the best every night for drinks and watching the sunset. We ate dinner there one night too and it was great. The whole staff was so friendly, welcoming and kind. Can’t wait to go back one day.

The only down fall was the day of check out we were told it was at noon and they started knocking on our door at 8am, again at 9am, and again at 10am. Each time I told them we have a pickup at 10:45am. I have never had this happen at a four seasons, but besides this everything else was absolutely amazing.

The service here has gone to a new level of excellence.
We've visited this resort many times before and always enjoyed our experience. This time was the best yet.
We were told the resort was at full capacity, and you could certainly sense that it was crowded. However, we never had trouble getting a table for breakfast or chairs at our chosen spot: the Sunset Pool.
We landed here after an extraordinarily exhausting season. We were met with early check in and got to the pool in less than an hour. We barely left our spot there for a week. There are several superstars who make this pool a little taste of heaven on earth: Dell, Santiago, Kyle, Yuery, Yella, Steven, Eveone and who am I forgetting?! The attention to detail was perfection and drinks/food show up very quickly.
The staff does an incredible job of remembering names and preferences. Their warmth and kindness is an added plus on top of a "can do" attitude.
Since we last visited, the Sunset Lounge has been expanded. Truth be told, it was hard to pull ourselves away from having drinks and dinner there every night. The live music (nearly every night) is lots of fun - so much talent on this island. When we did leave our favorites continued to be: Blanchard's, Cip's and DaVida.
The Monday night beach BBQ at the hotel is worth it, tons of delish food and a gorgeous setting with live music.
Yes, the beaches were a tad rough during our time there. That's been our experience in previous spring visits and it doesn't bother us. To be fair, we spend lots more time at the pool (and there are three big ones) than we do on the beach.
Very family friendly if you want to bring people of all ages.
Gym has also expanded to include new outdoor space. It was always full in the morning, but we easily worked around our fellow travelers to get our business done.
There's also a cute coffee/sweets spot now. The BEST chocolate chip cookies most days - gelato there too. The ladies were so welcoming and funny!
I literally pulled out my phone to start booking our next visit before we even left ...
p.s. The AXA airport is in the process of expanding and that should help. It was ridiculously slow trying to get through the single lane of security - like people freaking out that they weren't going to make their flights.
