Excellent place to stay in - heart of the historic district - all the must see sights are walking distance Food and staff are super friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The Spa is the best - Noor my therapist is probably the best I’ve ever had! My husband and I did a couples hamam here as well and loved it!

Spent three nights at this hotel. I was impressed with the lovely grounds and gardens surrounding it. Seems like an oasis in the middle of a very busy area. Taxi drivers (from the airport) have a difficult time navigating the roads and finding the main entrance tucked away within a labyrinth of alleys and narrow streets. It is an easy walk to The Hagia Sophia, the Hippodrome and several other attractions in the old town. There are many restaurants and shops close by but be prepared for the “hustle” when taking a walk by these shops and restaurants. Everyone seems to have a “special deal just for today and just for you.” The hotel restaurant serves an outstanding breakfast, probably the best breakfast of any hotel I have ever stayed at, for sure. I was so impressed with the hot and cold selections including many delicious Turkish dishes. It was really incredible with outstanding service, as well. I enjoyed one fabulous dinner in the same restaurant. I also attended a special reception one evening on the rooftop terrace with beautiful views of surrounding landmarks. My room overlooked the main entrance and was very well appointed and cleaned to perfection every day. Front desk staff accompany guests to their rooms to ensure satisfaction. Staff were consistently helpful and courteous throughout the property. I was able to preview several rooms during my stay which were all quite unique in shape and structure since the property was originally a Turkish prison. All were beautifully appointed. The hotel has a free shuttle service to its sister hotel on the Bosphorus. If you have the time, take advantage of this opportunity. You will not regret it. It is located directly on the water with lovely waterfront dining options both inside and outside on the patio. Both of these Four Seasons Hotels are unique and quite different from each other including an incredible art collection on the grounds and within the lobby areas. But, be aware and forewarned not to use one of the portable charging stations should your phone battery need recharging. My phone was hacked during this process. I begin receiving hundreds and hundreds of foreign emails, which, even several months later, I am still receiving and sending to my junk file. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel. And, I can add the fact to my travel dossier, that I actually stayed in a “Turkish Prison.”

The hotel is beautiful, and in a great location, but what really sets it apart is the staff. They reached out a week before our stay asking if there was anything they could do in advance to make our trip better. We had actually been in Istanbul at another hotel 10 days prior and had noted the Republic Day posters scattered around the city and asked if they could help us procure one as a memento. They not only did, they found two, and left a lovely note with them when we arrived in our room. The staff were extremely responsive and kind to our multiple requests during our stay. Many thanks to everyone, unfortunately I don’t have everyone’s names. Nour at Kurna Spa for a fantastic massage! Hakan and Hussein at the bar/restaurant, the assistant restaurant manager Gokberk, and many that were kind along the way! Also in appreciation of Serap, the hotel manager, for instilling such high standards and dedication in the staff.

Flawless experience, first time in the fascinating city. I cannot rave enough about our experience at the FSSultanahmet. The room was perfect (thank you for theupgrade) quiet, punctiliously clean throughout our five night stay. It is truly an oasis for the tired traveler. The staff to a person are warm and welcoming, and given the long distances people usually travel to get here it is so appreciated. The food was delicious and not westernized-thank you! To stay in such a peaceful hotel right in the heart of the historic district-there is no other decision to make. Special thank you to all the staff from this couple from America’s Midwest…every detail was noted and appreciated.

Beautiful luxury hotel in the best location in the amazing city of Istanbul. 3 min walk to Hagia Sophia, 4 mins to the Blue Mosque, 5mins to the Topkapi Palace and 15 mins to the Grand Bazaar. Excellent ‘Four Seasons service’. Our room was very comfortable, looking into the peaceful garden of the central courtyard. There is only one restaurant (‘Avlu’) - but it is excellent ! And sipping a cocktail at the hotel’s rooftop bar, looking over the Hagia Sophia, as the sun set - was one of those ‘magical travel experiences’.
