Room 35 was the perfect vantage point, offering breathtaking views right from our luxurious tent. We spent our days watching hippos lounging and “singing” in the river, while the Mara River itself played host to crocodiles, baboons, impalas, and even local cattle wandering along its banks—a true African wildlife spectacle. The team at Fairmont Safari Club is exceptional—attentive, warm, and dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. From Caleb, who left fun notes and anecdotes while keeping our tent spotless, to Peter, who guided us through every dining experience with genuine care, their hospitality made us feel completely at home. A three-night, four-day stay is the perfect amount of time to experience the Big Five, and with a driver like Alfred, you’re in for an unparalleled safari. His deep knowledge, sharp instincts, and local connections not only ensured incredible wildlife sightings but also gave us the rare opportunity to meet the Maasai people and witness the sole two white rhinos in the Mara—a once-in-a-lifetime encounter! A huge shoutout to Brian, who liaised with us all the way from London to Kenya, ensuring a seamless experience, including organizing an unforgettable hot air balloon ride over the Mara—truly magical! This was our first time on Safari and we really enjoyed our experience at Fairmont Mara Safari Club. The staff were excellent and so friendly. From Peter who looked after us at meal times to David and Nicholas who took us out on our drives each day and of course Adan who took care of our house. We went out on 2 drives each day and they did not disappoint, getting up close to so many wonderful creatures. We enjoyed the food and the service was great. In the evenings there was a cosy fire to sit by and enjoy a night cap. Overall a wonderful experience which was arranged for us by 2 by 2 Holidays.

Our honeymoon at Fairmont Mara Safari Club was the best and most memorable experience of our lives! Every moment was exceptional, thanks to the incredible staff who made us feel so at home. Special thanks to Lenkoko, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best safari adventure; to Mary and Gerald, whose warm hospitality and attention to detail made our stay unique and delightful; and to Adan, who made us feel like we had a home away from home. We highly recommend participating in as many experiences as possible and definitely not missing a safari. We were lucky enough to see 4 out of the Big 5, but also encountered so many more amazing animals. The hot air balloon experience is also a must! While it’s the most commercial, you can’t beat the breathtaking views of the plains from the balloon, and the bush breakfast included is a real "pinch me" moment. Gerald and his team are also expert mixologists—don’t miss trying their locally inspired cocktails, especially the dawa! I also had a massage during my stay which I couldn't recommend more. In terms of facilities, they are superb. The tent design makes it feel more authentic , but it's a very luxurious stay with all the amenities and services you'd expect to see at a Fairmont. We couldn’t be more grateful to the entire team and have already recommended this magical experience to all our friends and family. We can’t wait to return someday! Patricia & Seb

My husband and I had a wonderful experience: The tent accommodation was luxurious, clean, and thoughtfully equipped, the food was great and there was a variety to choose from a la carte. The atmosphere was very relational and welcoming. Our safari guide and driver Dominic was kind and knowledgeable. He answered our questions and found the wildlife we were most interested in. Aside from the large animals he impressed us with his detailed knowledge of birds. We enjoyed a long morning out with Dominic, complete with breakfast under a tree in the park on the way to a Massai village. The first night the hippos created an interesting, but noisy soundscape. Good to bring wax earplugs!

The massages by Patience are a must, she is amazing and has the best view in town. The game drives with Tony were amazing. The food was very good. The Masai dances at dinner were fantastic. What an incredible and magical place. We are still without words to describe our experience. It was moving and inspiring. The Fairmont staff really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and special. I highly recommend a massage by Patience while overlooking the hippos. The real highlight of the trip was the serene drives spent in the Mara with our guide, Mike. He is a remarkable source of experience and knowledge and he went above and beyond to ensure each game drive was special. He has a unique talent of predicting what the animals might do next, which gave us truly unique experiences like seeing the elusive leopard descend from a tree and prowl across the fields looking for a new place to rest. He also brought a great personality and sense of humor to our hours of jeep drives. We know we have to return again someday.

We stayed at the Fairmont Mara as part of a trip of a lifetime and had a wonderful incredible experience. I don't even know where to begin. The service at this resort was second to none. We met our driver/s Mike/Zach when we arrived at the hotel as there were on a drive and were our driver/s throughout the trip, they were amazing, funny, warm, kind and knew where to take us they made the drives so enjoyable knowing the ins and outs of the land and where to find all the animals we were searching for. We saw everything we had hoped to see and so much more. Cheetahs, lions, rhinos, elephants, zebras etc to name just a few. we had no idea how close we would get to these animals. We then checked in to the hotel by Brian (very nice man) and got settled, we met Mary who took care of us during our stay at meal times and she was incredibly kind and warm. She really noticed all the little things that made your stay feel personal. Steve who is the GM at the property was again amazing and tentative to make sure you have everything you need during your stay. Adan did our turn downs and made sure we were very comfortable in our tent. David were our bartender during our stay and made sure we had the coldest beer . It truly was like being around a group of friends sharing stories and laughs at the bar. We've never experienced such personal customer service like at the Fairmont Mara. All the staff go out of there way to say (Jambo) HELLO, Biggest smiles greet you . On the last night we came from the afternoon drive for drinks and our meal, Mary our host for meals said can you come with me, we were greeted with a private deck dinner, our own chef, Mary as our server and a nice man tending a fire. This was a thank you for our stay, never know such care and friendly people. We were overwelmed leaving this place, everyone felt like family and the trip seemed too short. I wouldn't blink in recommending this truly stunning location.

First time in Kenya. What a start. Fantastic location. Fantastic safari club. Food top quality. Staff very attentive. The luxury tents were nothing short of luxury. Everything you need in a tent. Green lush gardens to walk around. Not forgetting the hippos. Grazing and occasionally making noise! Our tent was just outside where the hippos would come and relax. Lovely to sit and watch them whilst having a cup of tea. Thankyou Fairmont for our first experience of Kenya and Maasai Mara.

We visited for our honeymoon mid October 2025 & had a life changing experience. The staff, the accommodations, the food, the delicious wine, the housekeepers. To name our favorites - David - bartender, he is AWESOME! Umagi (sp) He was an AMAZING server! He was so kind, great talking with him and knew all our drink orders & is super knowledgeable of wines! Jackson/Faustine - The were WONDERFUL room attendants! They made us a wonderful bed arrangement for our honeymoon and wrote us such a sweet note. Really made us feel special! Dennis - Customer service always made sure we were properly taken care of! Top notch!!! Charles - Front desk, always kept up to date with all the info on our safaris and travel plans. Did great! Lencoco - Our safari driver was PERFECT & by far, our favorite! Showed us amazing things & stayed out until we did. We liked that he didn’t speak too much but overall just went above and beyond to show us an ahhhhmazing trip!!! We can’t wait to make it back, but may take awhile to save up again! 10/10

We stayed at the Fairmont Mara Safari Club- Kenya from 2nd Oct to 7th Oct 2025. from the traditional welcome to check out we had a wonderful experience. the Fairmont Mara is nestled along the Mara river with about 38 tented cottages with all luxuries of a premium resort. Wallace at the reception gave us a precise and clear briefing on the facilities and activities for the six full days. the breakfast, lunch and dinner were all included in the package that we had opted for. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were sumptuous and satisfied one and all. With vegetarian options available right through and with the chef dishing out specials we were delighted no end. They have an excellent bar serving cocktails/mocktails with premium brands available. Then there was Mary who took care of us and ensured each individual's culinary need was well taken care off,. hats off to her. Jackson was an absolute delight in housekeeping and keeping us all in good humor. the hot water bag he faithfully kept in the bed for every night was awesome. The highlight of the stay was of course the game drives, 2 of them every day. 630-9AM and then 330 to 630PM. Dominic was a dream guide, spotter and driver. He ensured we went up close to every single species - zebra, antelope, gazzele, giraffe, wildebeest, lion, cheetah, leopard, plenty of elephants, cape buffalo and many more. Each game drive was an experience in itself with Dominic, very patient, terrific spotter, very polite, no rushing. the real close experience with lions was a highlight of Dominic's skills. from our cottages we could always see plenty of hippos in the water. In all an outstanding experience of the Masai Mara. Fairmont Mara is located in the northern edge of the Masai Mara and we did not enter any of the gates of the Masai Mara - but we did see all big 5 and every other species in this part of the Mara and with very low tourist crowds. We arrived at the Fairmont Safar in October for our honeymoon and it was the most amazing experience. On arrival we were greeted by our driver for the week Dominic M, he was fantastic and made our experience! He tried his best to find the different animals and answered all our questions. He also helped organise all our requests! At the resort, we were greeted by Wallace and staff who made us feel very welcome. All staff at the resort are wonderful and they couldn’t do more for you. Rose made sure we were well taken care of during all our meals, which were all delicious! And Caleb ensured we had a lovely, clean, tidy tent to come back to after our game drives. If you’re looking for a fantastic resort for a safari, this is the one! It will not disappoint. We hope to be back soon! We also decided to do the hot air balloon ride which was an amazing memory made. We fell in love with Masai Mara.

We went during the winter season, so didn't really mind it, but I can totally imagine the rooms getting quite hot in summer months - The spread on the buffet and set meals is great, very good variety - There's a hippo pod that lives right next to the hotel, and there's a hippo viewing point

Staff recognized us by name in the lobby, and David at the bar knew our drink orders. Rose, our server, was attentive, and other staff like Shiko, Kilonzo, and James contributed to our experience. Game drives with Alfred and Steve were highlights, spotting the Big Five and exceeding expectations. On our last day, Lamson and Steve made the drives exciting. William, Mary, Winny, and others made us feel like family. We cherished the boma dinners and surprise celebrations. We hope the staff are recognized for their work and interns can join the team. We spent our honeymoon at the Fairmont Mara Safari Club and it was one of the best trips of our lives. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and cared for. Everyone we met was warm and attentive, and it set the tone for a wonderful stay. The real highlight was our guide, Moseka. He was knowledgeable, funny, and had an amazing eye for spotting animals. Each drive felt exciting and different, and he always managed to find the perfect spot for viewing. Beyond that, he made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun, like we were out exploring with a friend. We stayed four nights and went on morning and afternoon game drives every day. Thanks to Moseka, each one felt unique and unforgettable. We also did the sunrise hot air balloon ride, which gave us incredible views of the Mara that we’ll never forget. Back at camp, our tent overlooked the Mara River, and little touches from the staff made every day feel special. It was the perfect balance of adventure and comfort. The Fairmont helped make our honeymoon unforgettable, and we’re especially grateful to Moseka for making the safaris so memorable. We’d recommend this experience to anyone, and if you get Moseka as your guide, you’re in for something truly special.

Spent two days in Fairmont Mara safari club at the end of a Tauck classic African safari tour. The staff at the Club were exceptional. Naomi gave an amazing deep tissue massage, Geoffrey ensured our safari tent was always clean and did a wonderful turndown at night, Gerald made THE best ever negroni and Kilonzo (an intern) did an exceptional job of looking after our needs. The only criticism I have is that the facility itself looks a little tired in some areas. It is a safari club so I don’t expect 5 star facilities like those of Fairmont Mount Kenya but if Fairmont wants to remain competitive with other safari clubs it needs to upgrade some of the furniture and furnishings.

We truly had a once in a lifetime experience at the Fairmont Mara. The staff is amazing and they were so attentive and friendly. Ntaiya, our room steward, was a pleasure and kept our room so clean. I loved the warm water bottles at night. Special thanks to Shiko, Moses, and Charles, who made our stay extra special. The staff at the property really takes very good care of the guests. The game drives with Dominic were amazing. He spotted a lot of wildlife even when they would be hidden within the bush. We also went on the bush walk with him and he shared a lot of interesting insights about the region, animals, plants, and the locals, and made our journey unforgettable. The food was very good. The Masai dances at dinner were fantastic. Everything was wonderful! The staff at the property really takes very good care of the guests.

Everything in the camp is excellent. The staff is very kind and attentive. All the tents are on the river bank with great views of the river and the hippos. The tents are well appointed, all the amenities you need and cleaned twice a day. In the restaurant they move the tables to the terrace for breakfast and lunch, inside for dinner, very attentive. Food and drinks are good. The game drives (2 per day) amazing in a wonderfull setting. The airstrip only 10 minutes driving.
