Old world charm in the heart of Old Quebec. Best location by far, walk out the front door and Quebec city is at your doorstep. Just wandering the streets from the hotel in winter is something right out of a Hallmark movie. And having Carnaval happening during our visit was the icing on the cake! Not to mention the toboggan ride outside the hotel, lucky for us we had a view from our hotel room window. This is a must do activity so much fun. Check in was quick and easy. We were on the 10th floor which required taking 2 elevators, first to the 8th floor then another one to the 10th. Our king city view room was huge! So much room to spread out and the bathroom was massive. It was nice to come back after a long day of walking to be able to chill out in our room before dinner without being on top of each other. A genius move is having the safe (massive also) in the drawer next to the bed, WOW amazing! No bending over on your hands and knees to access the safe. The designer should be given a huge award and all other hotels should take note. The only interesting thing is you get slippers but no robes, that is a bit confusing. We didn't take the tour of the hotel, kind of wish we did to learn the history but we can read up on that. All staff were great and helpful. A couple of things that didn't hit the mark for me was the massive amounts of people constantly coming and going, kind of took away from the hotels ambiance. And the breakfast buffet, although food choices awesome, if you hit it at the wrong time it was mobbed. At one point felt like I was on a cruise ship standing in line for the buffet. Chateau Frontenac, the place to stay when visiting Quebec City!

We stayed in the Hitchcock Suite, and it was great! The room was so spacious and views beautiful as part of a free upgrade. The bar downstairs is pretty great too. We did have an unexpected paranormal visitor wake me up at 3am and grab my leg, but the hotel sent some Prosecco and a cute note to make up for it. We also didn't tell them it was my fiancé's birthday on an earlier night of the stay, but they recognized it on the passport and sent up a sweet treat that night. Love the hotel and attention to detail.

Spectacular property that is a prominent feature of the town... unfortunately. Huge tourist attraction that makes staying here much less special than the price tag warrants. Hundreds of non-guests congregate in the lobby and restaurants, making passage difficult and meals impossible. The wait time at 4 p.m for the bar was an hour and a half. Rooms are too expensive to be made to feel like you're in a bus station.

We booked three nights up to and including New Year’s Eve. Incredible property located in center of town close to all major attractions. Architecture and surrounding venues remind me of our previous home is Switzerland. Simply awesome. Concierge (Philippe), checkin staff (Alexandre) and parking staff were fantastic. Gym is small for a 600+ hotel but great. Our room 7117 was spacious and clean. Great view of lake. But the positives end there. Sadly the hotel leadership makes zero effort to differentiate hotel guests from the massive amount of random tourists. Guests paying at least ~$900 per night have no priority reservations (or walk in) to hotel restaurants and can’t even walk into bar without permission. They embrace an all coming strategy which pushing paying hotel guests to massive queue saturated in non guests, people staying at other hotels, and others. We walked down to dinner and were greeted by two young women who explained that we were lucky to get two seats at SAM counter while countless people not staying at hotel filled 90% of seating area. When after dinner we simply tried to walk thru bar we were quickly confronted and escorted out. “We can’t allow anyone to enter bar without permission!” Absolutely ridiculous policy. I really wanted to give a better rating but the leadership simply doesn’t care about guests experience. If we come back to city, which is great, we will stay somewhere else. Why not, as we can always come back here and be treated same as paying hotel guests.

The positive aspects of my stay at the hotel include the warm and welcoming staff, who were always ready to assist with any questions or requests. The hotel itself is rich in history, featuring fascinating stories and a charming, historic vibe that truly immerses you in the spirit of Old Quebec. Its location is unbeatable, placing you right in the heart of the city's beauty and culture. However, the room was disappointing. It was quite dusty, which detracted from the overall comfort of my stay. Despite the building's historical charm, the room lacked a cozy and inviting atmosphere, leaving me feeling underwhelmed. This hotel is ideal for a one-night stay if you're looking to experience the history and ambiance of the area. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for longer visits. While it’s worth it for the location and a glimpse into Quebec’s past, it falls short in terms of extended comfort.
