The Chateau is throw back to the 1900s with a really calm comfort and warmth. After six trips, it never gets old. So we intend to come back again, and again, and again.

This magnificent property, filled with old world charm, is located on the edge of beautiful Lake Louise. We loved exploring the Chateau from end to end on every level, to find historical pictures and amazing lead light windows. Our room was small and comfortable, but you need to pay extra to face the lake. You can easily find incredible locations to view the lake from the well manicured grounds, or do the lake or lookout walk, well worth the effort. I suggest you do the lake walk earlier, before all the day tourists arrive. Watch out for cute squirrels. The food, restaurants, service and staff were excellent. It was a bucket list 2 night stay at the Chateau, that will remain as a highlight of our Canadian adventure.

The service was impeccable and all the staff was most accommodating. They were friendly and polite. The setting was dreamy. We loved the ice sculptures and we had a beautiful hike to the waterfalls at the end of the lake. We can’t wait to return!

We have stayed here 10 times to date and have had a variety of rooms so can say with some experience that you do need to get a room with a view of the lake (and not a mountain view across a car park). This time, we further upgraded as a special treat to the 7th Floor = Gold Fairmont which is pricey but a lovely treat. Here the separate concierge team are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast - included - was excellent with a chef on hand to do bespoke eggs (and whatever). Throughout the day, in the lounge area, there are snacks and pastries to snack on should you need it. Our room was very clean, had all the expected amenities, a turn down service and overall excellent - as you'd expect from such a hotel.

Everything we experienced in our visit to Chateau Lake Louise was exceptional. Our stay was to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Fifty years ago we spent our honeymoon here skiing. What better way to celebrate having the Gold Service. Everything from valet parking to checkin /checkout to Gold Floor Amenities and of course the view was truly outstanding. Highly recommend a stay here whether for a day or a week you won't want to leave.

What a lovely hotel. Given how busy it was with hotel guests and outside visitors, the Chateau staff were very good. Loved the Ice Bar and horse sleigh rides, as well as all the little shops throughout the hotel. Our room had a great view of the lake and we our room was very comfortable. Just a magic place to stay in winter.

We only stayed one night here, and it was a beautiful. We booked a Lakeview King and the view did not disappoint. The furnishings in the room were so lovely, modern and thoughtful with plenty of convenient usb ports. The washroom was a tad small, but we made it work....

We only stayed one night here, and it was a beautiful. We booked a Lakeview King and the view did not disappoint. The furnishings in the room were so lovely, modern and thoughtful with plenty of convenient usb ports. The washroom was a tad small, but we made it work. The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast here. Our dinner was one of the best meals we had the whole trip, and we ate some wonderful meals everywhere. I would like to come back in the summer or fall, but it was simply stunning to see the Chateau decorated for Christmas. This location is simply breathtaking.

The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, despite its iconic status, was a significant disappointment and waste of money. While I typically avoid reviewing expensive hotels where I stay to avoid appearing snobbish, this experience warrants an exception. I sought the classic Chateau experience with its renowned lake views, but quickly realized these views were not-accessible. The hotel restaurant offered excellent dinner, but breakfast was unremarkable. Other dining options were average. To enjoy the lake views, guests must reserve a table in the bar or restaurant, as there are no designated viewing areas. The guest living room, while lovely, offers no views beyond the parking lot. Despite signs restricting access, the hotel was overrun with day trippers. They lounged in hallways, picnicked on the floor, and crowded walkways. The lake was similarly crowded with day visitors enjoying picnics with wagons full of stuff for the day. Had I known about the day visitor option and the limited guest access to views, I would have opted to visit the Chateau as a day guest and stayed elsewhere. This would have allowed me to enjoy the dining and views without the exorbitant room rates. We stayed in the annex, which, contrary to some reviews, was convenient. The rooms were modern and well-maintained, in contrast to the older main building. However, the spa and pool were underwhelming. While a new spa is under construction, the current offerings were inadequate. Our experience at the Fairmont Banff, with its exceptional spa, further highlighted this deficiency. The hotel's popularity suggests that guests are willing to pay exorbitant rates for the name alone, regardless of the service quality. Parking, resort fees, and additional charges for amenities like ice skates are excessive, especially considering the lack of guest-exclusive amenities. In comparison, a recent stay at a Kenyan resort of similar price included a private butler, all meals, laundry, and free transportation. Improving the guest experience would require simple steps: • Include parking in the room rate. • Provide an indoor viewing area for guests to enjoy the lake. • Include basic amenities like ice skates in the room rate or offer them at a reasonable cost. • Enforce restrictions on day visitors to ensure a more exclusive experience for guests. The Fairmont Banff demonstrated that providing excellent service while maintaining a luxurious atmosphere is possible. Unfortunately, the Chateau Lake Louise fails to meet these standards.

The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has one of the most magnificent views of any resort I know. A lake view room on a higher floor is well worth the price because the view of the lake and mountains is magnificent, and keeps changing with the sun. I stayed on the Gold Floor in a large comfortable room. It was very clean and modern, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The lounge is bright and spacious, and well stocked. Breakfast is excellent and at 5 pm there is some buffet style dishes served for a light meal. You can check in to gold floor rooms by going directly to the desk on that floor. The hotels restaurants are very good but make reservations as soon as you reserve your room because they are very busy. A nice experience is the afternoon tea looking out at the lake. Room service was excellent and the menu is a cut above most room service menus. Good WiFi throughout the property and there were lots of power plugs in the room. Location is very convenient to get to the Lake Louise ski area or Sunshine near Banff. There is a free shuttle to the Lake Louise ski area which runs frequently. This hotel is a great place to stay and the service is remarkably good.

Of course it goes without saying that the lake and teh grounds here are so magnificent and words and photos do not do it justice !!!! This was a breathtaking place to stay. We were here for our 40th wedding anniversary and still think about our stay there. We elected to stay on the GOLD floor as we enjoy the extra perks. Yes, I know you pay extra but when you are there you dont ever have to think about breakfast or snacks or drinks or dinner as all these things can be found in the gold lounge. The appetizers and dessert filled us up so we never had to go and pay for dinner. I loved all these choices and breakfast choices. The room itself was large and luxurious and beautiful. We had a lake view from our room. Although the only disappointment was the screen on our window which made it hard to film and photograph through the darn screen. I hated it!!! The bed was soft and the bathroom was so spacious! The only other bad thing which the new pool construction should be correcting was the walk to the pool. My husband is handicapped and although you could partially take elevator there was still a long staircase to get to the pool itself. That was not good. SHOUT OUT To Bella who worked in the lounge during our trip. She is one of the best!!!!!!!! If you are even thinking about going here...stop thinking and JUST GO!!!!

Let me start by saying that I too have worked in the hotel industry in my 20s, therefore I hate complaining or demanding for anything. I do not believe in the saying “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”. I believe that every hotel guest should be treated equally with care...

Let me start by saying that I too have worked in the hotel industry in my 20s, therefore I hate complaining or demanding for anything. I do not believe in the saying “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”. I believe that every hotel guest should be treated equally with care and the highest possible service the staff can give - and this should be all done without the guests having to ask for it. I’m sure service is also paid for when you stay at hotels, not just the room. Cons: 1. Hotel is flooded with non-staying guests anywhere you go within hotel grounds. Hotel guests would like have exceptional experiences and encounter some sort of serenity specially at destination hotels. Lake Louise certainly missed the spot here. 2. Staff service is well below average, cold, and insincere (apart from a staff who I will mention in my Pros section). 3. Staff assumption that I am a local. No effort was given to explain any hotel amenities or even the hotel grounds (you’ll have to ask). Service is selective and varies with every guest. I have also read on other reviews that staff are quite racist - I can now attest to this. I am an Australian of asian decent. 4. Room is outdated specially the bathroom. 5. Our room 5938 had a broken door stop, which should have been ok, should I received luggage assistance upon check-out - requested for luggage assistance but the wait was ridiculously long and I was forced to drag my own luggage down the lobby. 7. Low water pressure in the shower head makes it difficult to shower properly, pressure on the other taps are fine. 8. Everything was booked for us by Canada by Design 12 days in total excluding flights (Via Rail, Hotels, Transfers, and Activities). Upon check-in, I requested that my Accor membership be linked with this stay - when I checked, this was not even completed. I missed out on the points for what I have spent in the restaurant at this hotel. Note: All the other Accor properties within the tour package has gladly linked my membership with no issues. Pros: 1. Food was amazing! Our room was not ready when we arrived at the hotel and we were starving. Had a late lunch at the restaurant and was served by Gabby. Gabby made us feel welcome and truly cared for. We had the butternut pumpkin soup to start with some chips. Mum had the steak and I had the scallop & prawn pasta. Absolutely delicious! 2. Sleigh ride was magical. This activity was pre-booked for us, and was all included in our tour package. The sleigh ride takes about 45mins in total, and will take you halfway the lake and then back to the hotel. There’s a small waterfall in the end of the lake, which was nice to see. 3. The view definitely something else. Undeniably a beautiful place. A shame that the experience was ruined by non-staying guests and distinctly subpar service.

I love how they accommodated us and gave us a warm welcome. We celebrated our honeymoon there and it was fantastic. Staff our very thoughtful and polite and we enjoyed our stay. It was a majestical place full of stunning sights especially the mountains.
