We had a good stay at this hotel. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a deluxe sea view room the spa building, we were very grateful for this although were slightly disappointed that there wasn’t much of a sea view as the room was on the ground floor. We enjoyed spending time at the resort’s main beach, the sun loungers were very comfortable and the sea crystal clear with a sandy floor. The music from the beach bar was a bit loud though, but we sat far enough away for it not to be a problem. The grassy area surrounding the pool was overgrown and needed some landscaping, which was a shame because this was a nice area to spend time. We enjoyed all of the restaurants for dinner and thought the food was very good. However some staff were not particularly friendly and service wasn’t consistent. We really enjoyed having drinks at the main lobby bar and the lady serving drinks along with the pianist were excellent. We also liked the bar on the jetty, with fantastic views over the bay. Overall we had a good break at this hotel.

This was our first time at Elounda Beach and couldn’t have been better. We stayed in a classic bungalow with a lovely sea view . The room was comfortable, maybe a bit tired in places. The shower wasn’t great but the jacuzzi bath was good and fruit and wine was a nice touch. Also lovely and clean. We had a nice welcome from Kostas , and he and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful . Also Laura from guest services was fabulous. The food was delicious in all of the restaurants especially the Italian and Japanese The only disappointing meal was the Greek one.chewy pork and cold chips . Not really up to standard. The breakfast was great. Plenty of choice. Staff excellent. Loved Panagiotis and Georgios . Pool and beach lovely. Excellent pool boys and staff on beach. Nice to have sun beds and umbrella without fighting for them. My husband had to visit the doctor twice as he had a bad back . She was excellent and really helpful. All the staff were really kind . We had great use of the buggies ,as he couldn’t walk far ! I would like to thank Lina at guest communications, as she was also great help with our needs. We loved it so much we have booked again next year!

Our thanks once again to the many staff at Elounda Beach Hotel who work so hard to provide a wonderful holiday experience. As returning guests of many years we feel at home from the moment we arrive and are welcomed by the lovely guest experience team, it was a pleasure to be welcomed by the smiling face of Laura and several others of the team. Demetri the excellent food and beverage manager works so hard to maintain a very high standard of quality and service. All the leaders and dedicated team members at Blu Lagoon,Argonaut and Kafenion deserve a special mention, there are too many to name individually but they all provide an exceptional level of service as do Marianna and Eleni whose friendly and efficient service at breakfast ensure that the day gets off to a good start. Our needs are anticipated and our favourite choices remembered by many of the staff especially Giannis at Kafenion, such thoughtfulness is much appreciated. We should also mention the beach staff who look after us so well and the staff at Veghera bar. We look forward to returning next year and meanwhile wish the team a good winter

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's a lovely setting and the accommodation though dated in places remains quality. The outlook is wonderful with stunning sea views. We stayed in an island bungalow, it was super comfortable and the cleaners did an excellent job looking after us. The food was wonderful in all of the Al la carte restaurants. Service across the board was very good. Reception staff are efficient, accommodating and knowledgeable about their job. My only negative comment is a couple of staff in the Argonaut (the Italian restaurant) seemed to be frosty following a silly comment made by my partner. I emphasise silly not offensive, banter! On the next 3 visits there whatever we ordered had 'run out' and alternatives had to be chosen. More importantly one waitress in particular looked horrified when waiting our table. In turn I felt uncomfortable which was disappointing, hence my giving the hotel 4 stars and not 5. That experience aside, I cannot emphasise enough that 99.9% of the staff are exemplary and understand their role.

We have just returned from a fabulous week's holiday at the Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas. From the moment we were welcomed at reception by Laura and Kostas of Guest Services, we felt we received 5 star treatment and enjoyed a great week of relaxation, sunshine, delicious food and, above all, fantastic service by the amazing staff. We stayed in a Deluxe Suite with sea view in the Spa building - it was of a very good size and had beautiful views across the bay. Our maid, Valentina, could not have done any more to keep our room serviced. The hotel has a lovely beach with crystal clear waters as well as a large sea water pool - both were perfect for sunbathing. Breakfast was a plentiful buffet to cater for everyone's tastes and we ate at each of the four restaurants, which serve quality meals ranging from Greek to Italian, Mediterranean and Asian cuisines. Yes, the wine is more expensive than you would like to pay - but this hotel is all about quality and we did have a fridge that we could cool our own drinks and thoughtfully a corkscrew was provided. All the staff were helpful and friendly but special mention to Restaurant Manager Marianna, & Ntenisa & Panagiotis who looked after us so well. Also thanks to Ioanna on Guest Services who helped us with restaurant bookings and our trip to Spinalonga. The hotel is in a great location - a very pleasant 20 minute walk into Elounda. Would we recommend this hotel? - definitely yes. Will we return again? - definitely yes.

My husband and I arrived from the airport to hotel at midnight. There was nobody meet and greet us or offer us a drink. We sat waiting in reception for somebody to speak to us. I eventually went up to the man in reception and asked if the hotel had provided any food for us such as a cold plate. His reply was that we would have to order from room service. In the meantime, a couple who had arrived at the same time as us were met by a hotel representative and appeared to have been taken to their room. Sometime after 12.30am I again went up to the man in reception and asked him what the situation was in terms of getting a key for our room and he did not seem to have an update. Only then did he ask if we would like a drink so we requested two glasses of wine. These were served about 12.45am. Eventually a man came and brought us by buggy to the Spa block and up to our room. When entering the room the man immediately went over to the curtains at the balcony door to show us the switch for opening the curtains. He then left the room. A that stage it was 1pm. We noticed that a bottle of wine and some small cold snacks had been left for us. On the bed was a very crumpled and stained Room Service leaflet. I noticed our bed sheets were very crinkled/not ironed. Our bed had not been turned down. I then went into the bathroom and noticed a withered single rose in a vase. We got the impression that the room had not been properly cleaned prior to our arrival. We were so tired as we had been travelling for 14 hours, we quickly went to sleep. In the morning on wakening, we opened the curtains to find that our view was of trees and a building adjacent to our hotel block. We had paid for an upgrade for a full sea view in the Spa block but there was no sea view when in our room. The only sea view we could see was when we went out to our balcony and looked out to the left. Later in the day after housekeeping had been in the room, we noticed our used wine glasses had not been replaced with clean ones. There were used sugar sachets and coffee pods left around the coffee machine which we had not used. Mini bar poorly stocked with little or no choice of drinks. Sometime after opening the balcony door we noticed a lot of ants just inside the door. We reported the problem and they eventually disappeared after a spray was applied to them. On our first morning, after breakfast we spoke to the lady in reception and asked for a room with full sea view which we had paid for. She said that they had no such room available. We asked if she could try and get one for us as soon as possible. The following day we asked again to be told – no availability. On the afternoon of our third day as we had not been contacted we again went up to reception to ask what the situation was. Eventually she came out to us to offer us two types of upgrade, one of which we accepted. It was a lovely large suite overlooking the sea. We were able to move into this for our last four days. We very disappointed that at no stage did anybody show us around the hotel and the various restaurants and facilities around the grounds. We had to find our way around this big resort ourselves. No details given for wifi service. It had rained on our first afternoon and as we had booked the half board package, we tried to book a restaurant for dinner that evening but the only availability was at 9.30pm which was far too late for us. Eventually after several calls to Guest Experience, we were offered a booking at the adjacent Elounda Bay hotel in their self service restaurant. Although we enjoyed or meal there it was not up to the standard of the restaurants we subsequently ate in at Elonuda Beach. It would have been helpful if we had been told on or arrival that we should book our chosen restaurants well in advance. While the hotel is in a lovely position, the food was excellent and the staff friendly, sadly the first three days of our holidays were not relaxing due to the problems with our room. We also felt the hotel should have provided us with a better welcome and somebody to show us where all the restaurants, the village area, sports facilities and other attractions were throughout the resort.

When I arrived at night, surprisingly I was welcomed at the front desk with helping hands and a warm welcome, checked in and was assisted to my room. The hotel is absolutely stunning and really clean. The rooms are good size and with all the amenities. I had a bottle of wine and fresh fruit with a light night snack- Perfect. The hotel staff are so lovely and have good customer service, always asking if everything is ok and if not, there for your every need. The dining area 100% choices / staff polite & helpful / beach area clean and tidy beautiful views / atmosphere very calm and courteous. We stayed between September 28th and October 3rd Arrived at around 11.45 pm so missed our evening meal ! Got to the room and lovely to see a bottle of complementary wine and fruit there . Room was excellent we had the shared pool room only problem was the pool was not used as it was freezing . So unless you like swimming in cold pools save yourself £500. The hotels policy recommended I Had to wear trousers in all the restaurants , I had one pair I flew in and the rest were all shorts so I had one pair on all week in the evenings . Food and restaurants were lovely , we asked about eating in their sister hotel which was also on the resort and they said it was fine !! So we booked the seafood restaurant midweek . Sadly it was there last night as closing for the season and therefore their menu was very limited . I was allergic to mollusks so even more limited for me so I plumped for the lobster pasta. Big mistake …A it was overcooked and B it was €150 per kilo and I had 750g of it , I assumed our half board was going to have an additional premium in this case but beware ! It covered €€60 between us . My bill was over €240 🙈 including a glass of wine each . The €60 only covered the starter we had each . I complained because of there poor communication with us but they didn’t want to know at first . As for a compromise eg. A late check out but the answer was no again ! Spoke to the jet 2 rep who also tried but only managed to get us a lunch voucher on our leaving day . Which to be fair was ok albeit we would have missed the evening meal as our pick up was 7.25pm so in fact we were two meals down anyway. Apart from that the place and staff were excellent as was the spa massages again quite expensive at€150 each . Elunda bay was close by so we ate there one night as opposed to staying at the hotel there were lots of places to choose from and had a nice feel to it. Recommend visiting The island of Spinalonga on a guided tour this was excellent. Drinks were expensive as you would expect my wife only likes white wine and I like red so I had a half bottle most nights €25 and a glass was €12 Beer was around €12 a pint so only just letting you know our bill for our additional lobster meal, drinks and massage including tax was over €850 for the week. You get allocated a sunbed on the beach which is the same every day and you can order drinks via a button on your parasol so that was a nice touch . The beach was excellent so All in all I enjoyed the nice break Al

We spent 10 days at this wonderful resort (Jet2 package). The staff were incredible, breakfast buffet amazing. The coffee is out of this world! The facilities are really fantastic and the location excellent - easy to explore local towns/villages. There are ample phenomenal restaurants outside the resort but if you prefer to stay in, your day is as fulfilled - at night there are 4 options of restaurants. We only did this twice as personally we preferred the restaurants and atmosphere outside amongst locals! We’d definitely return - the deals were excellent!! Hotel room was perfectly located for us though there are marvellous even more posh villas etc in the complex. We loved our location in main building! All very quiet, very clean. Rooms serviced daily with top ups all the day long. Thank you to the staff who really were most welcoming, kind and very patient!!!!

We have just come back from a week’s holiday at the Elounda Beach Hotel celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens with a sandy private beach and lovely clear water to swim in. The breakfast choice was outstanding and we enjoyed all of the 4 restaurants at the hotel. We spent a couple of evenings at the local town which is easy to walk too and got a taxi back. A highlight of the holiday was the staff and in particular Anna at the Veghera bar, she was always welcoming and friendly and a real credit to the hotel. Overall we had a fantastic relaxing holiday and hope to go back one day.

We were really looking forward to staying here, could hardly wait if I'm honest. It had been recommended to us. Arrival was abit hit and miss. We were offered an arrival Prosecco but not given enough time to drink it. The young woman with dark slicked back hair (rather aloof) had no patience and told us we needed to go to our room and to leave the drinks. We couldn't even take the glasses with us. Hotel reception is very dated and did not greet us with 5 star elegance, In fact if we had been told we had arrived at the wrong hotel l would have believed them. We were told we had been given a free upgrade. We were taken to a rather large, shady, creaky old room and felt the pangs of disappointment. We had booked a sea view double room and got an overgrown large tree on the basement. That night was like sleeping in an oven as the air conditioning was only working at minimum power. We asked if there were other rooms and after a lot of deliberating and them trying to argue the A/C wasn't broke, we moved to the 3rd floor. This room was the smallest we have ever stayed in. Old and creaky but the views were to die for. First night, had a shower and there was a huge leak which almost flooded us. Maintenance were called and he said he couldn't fix it. New marble needed to be ordered. A maid came and stuffed the hole with towels and it seemed they wanted us to put up and shut up for the duration of the stay. We wanted to see the manager and of course that wasn't possible. But eventually we were offered what they call a suite. A large double room which back in the 70's im sure would have been grand but it's 2024 so l'll say no more. But again, because of the positioning of this Hotel the views were amazing and we had a large terrace. Everything worked in this room so that was a bonus. We just wanted to start enjoying the holiday after 3 days of room swaps. It became obvious however, after a couple of mornings waking up with severe back ache, that the mattress had completely had it ! The maid put us a mattress topper on which helped a little. As you read this, please remember this is a ‘world leading 5 star hotel’. There are various things 'not right' about this Hotel. After only a few hours in we named it 'Fawlty Towers' Firstly the breakfast - where do I start. It is absolutely chaotic. I'd go as far to say that I have never experienced anything like it. There appears to be enough staff but they are all running around like headless chickens and not really achieving much. Trying to get tea with a cup, with milk and with a teabag all in tact was a task in itself. There is table reserving going on which they don’t like to admit to. We sat down at a table once and got asked to move. The whole time we were at breakfast no one sat there ?! We were told to go to the buffet another time and the table would be ready when we returned with our breakfast. We got back and it had been given to someone else. I asked why she had done that and she said oh yeah sorry. I said not good enough when I have my breakfast in my hands and there are no other tables free. The place is absolutely chaotic. We actually ate breakfast out a few days. Just couldn’t be doing with that kind of start to the day. Food at breakfast has plenty of choice but it's just not a pleasant relaxing experience. And we went at all different times so the manager can’t come that one ! It was the same all the time. The hotel takes conferences. I don't know whether this is a new thing but it's enough to put you off ever going back. My theory is - this is why people were being offered free upgrades - (because it was every one we spoke to.) I think it was to free up the double sea view rooms for these conference guests. Mostly the upgrades were poor so the only one benefiting was them. The conferences must bring them a huge income because once they turn up all other guests seem to be pushed aside. They literally did take over, even on the beach. We heard so many complaints during our stay and the 'regulars' we spoke to were furious of the impact the conferences were having. Talking of guests - there are lots and lots of returners. Some have been coming here for years. Only they know the reason why they do that. I think they have become blinded as to what the hotel world is really like out there. If they ventured out they would see this is not a 5 star hotel by any means. The false pretense of staff greeting the 'regulars' every time they see them is quite funny to watch. I even witnessed our original lady from reception (who checked us in) blowing kisses at some. But no doubt it keeps these old folks happy and returning, and I guess, stops them complaining. The grounds are beautiful but the hotel is incredibly dated and in a bad state of repair in places. Old furniture and dusty old prints on the wall. Walnut bureaus and oddments of furniture. It really is quite bizarre with no particular theme. It just doesn't exude luxury 5 star elegance atall. It doesn't even verge on traditional either. Good points were the man at the beach. He put the towels out for you on the beds and reserved them with your room number. It was a nice touch. Also Georgia by the beach bar is an absolute sweetheart and runs around the beach taking drinks all day. Drinks in the hotel are extortionate but walk into Elounda. it's cheaper and has a much better atmosphere The hotel is dressed like a care home and especially reflects that in the evening. The Hotel charges 5 star prices and gives a 3 star (at best) experience. I would like to know what warrants the 5 stars. We asked the Jet 2 rep but of course there was no valid response. I have read the Hotel managers responses to other reviews so l am expecting to be shot down too. It doesn't really matter what he puts. This is my honest review and honest reflection of our stay. I have put it here for you, the reader, because I wish I had read my review before I booked it.

We booked this hotel as it had a private pool. A luxury bungalow with a private pool, sea views, sun beds and the ability to book half board. We arrived in the evening and were taken to our accommodation by Laura. It was dark by then but looked very nice, fruit and wine as a welcome - shame they didn’t give us any glasses. Breakfast was a buffet in the main building. There were plenty of options available it was just a shame it was chaotic even before 9am in the morning. Tables were allocated in a rather haphazard way. Neither of us thought it was a pleasant experience. Staff were efficient clearing away dirty dishes though. On the following day we went out to explore. We did not book a restaurant for dinner so we were then told the only option was the buffet at the Elounda Bay. Really not our style and we hated the bear garden it was. Ever after we booked in the mornings. The four restaurants on site are extremely good and we did not have any issues with quality or service. After a couple of days we discovered we should have had a second key which was not given to us by Laura so the bungalow was not secure. It was around the middle of the week the pool decided to start emptying and the light was hanging out into the water. A man came and put it back but when we got up the next morning it was half empty. It was eventually repaired by late afternoon and no further problems. Beware that the pool is not heated and to have them have them heat it to 24 degrees the cost is nearly €300 per day!! Things went more smoothly from then on, fruit was replaced as were the coffee pods for the Nespresso and plenty of water. We had a late check out at no extra charge which was appreciated - until 3pm - we were leaving at 4.30pm. We pointed out on check out that the pool we had paid extra for was out of use for nearly two days. They said they had upgraded the bungalow to one with more square footage so it cancelled out the unusable pool. We were not told that on check in nor did we realise. We were told by the guy on reception if we had wanted a heated one we should have booked a better bungalow. We paid nearly £5000 for a week as it was. All that was eventually was an evenings drinks bill, only about €38. Our interaction with the reception staff was a case of the customer is never right. One particular lady was aggressive in the extreme - I didn’t get her name but she was not the blonde lady there who was pleasant. To sum up - if you like big hotels it will suit you. Golf buggies will take you around the site of both hotels. Handy if you want to then walk in to Elounda, about 20 minutes away. Always go for half board - we think with wine and dinner for two it would have cost around €200 per night. Don’t bother with a pool, can’t see it will really ever be warm enough.

Firstly, this is nowhere near a 5* hotel. It’s overpriced and poorly managed. The staff try their best, some are excellent some are very false. If you only read this far, don’t stay here. Upon arrival, it seemed like a dream booking. This unraveled quickly. We were told the room we had booked wasn’t available so we’d been upgraded. The view was the best part, the room lacked style and attention to detail. The mini bar fridge was warm, as the door didn’t close properly. Reported, twice, had to chase and gave up. Not sufficient or fixed during our stay. Rooms are lightly cleaned and not actually cleaned, I feel for the staff as the housekeeping team seem short staffed. We returned one day at 6:30pm to find the room had not been cleaned that day. The restaurants are good but not worth the price, go into either town. You’ll have a much better time and save a fortune. At dinner one night, the staff kept ignoring or missing topping up the wine. Other tables were being over asked. When my partner went to do it ourselves, the manager of the restaurant made a poor joke that breakfast would start at 7:30am, implying to work there. Very poor. The drinks are ridiculous pricing, €6 for a can of soft drink. €1 euro in the local shops. Beer ok price, spirits and wines are a joke. The beach is beautiful and the reserving of sun beds is a nice touch. The pool was beautiful until they let (poor management) a group from the conference take over, upsetting other guests with noise from music on phones, spitting and blowing noses in the pool, drinking in the pool, diving in the pool. Every one of their own pool rules broken and ignored by management. The poor pool guys tried so hard to keep the other guests happy, credit to them. But let down by management. The final straw, upon leaving the hotel, they allowed another guest with the a similar name take our airport transfer. No apology or help provided, it was down to us to speak to our transfer company and explain what had happened. Without the view, some great staff and the location. This hotel lacks a lot of things you’d expect for the price and reputation. Also as others have mentioned, some staff, reserve breakfast tables for their favourite guests. While others have to wait. We witnessed a book from a waiter placed on a table with some juice, so other guests who were waiting couldn’t sit there. Extremely poor.
