Benjamin and Luana were fantastic! We painted some mugs, played some trivia, and have had a great time with activities! I recommend every activity with our friends Benjamin and Luana! They’ve made the whole trip a blast! More reviews to come after the trip!

The drinks were great, the resort was beautiful and very well kept. The Asian restaurant was our absolute favorite, we would’ve ate there every night if we could’ve! If we ever get the chance to travel to Mexico again this will be the resort we choose!

My boyfriend and I along with 14 other friends visited here for a week in February 2025. Throughout the week we had many concerns with the resort and how they seem to charge extra for so many things, even to get a table at the Super Bowl party! But the worst part of all was on our departure. We all took advantage of the offer for the bellhop to take our bags to the main lobby because it’s so far away please (keep in mind while reading this several of us had carry-on bags only which means they were only ever out of our site when the bellhops were transporting them and that is why they were not locked). When we got home 15 of the 16 of us had several items missing from our luggage. Dresses, shirts, shorts, hoodies, jewelry, etc. . We all immediately contacted the resort who launched an investigation, which took approximately five days. When we received a response we were shocked not only did they find it did not happen, they provided screenshots of their video footage that was obviously altered. If anyone knows anything about video footage, which our group does because it contains two retired police officers, you would agree the date and time stamps are typically the same color throughout every frame, and in most cases of white or gray a color. Several of the screenshot that they sent had some of the numbers for the time in black and a slightly different font. Additionally, the times that they claimed we arrived and/or departed at certain spots in the resort was not true. I have attached a photo of one of the altered date and time stamps. It is our opinion, the times were altered in order to show that there was no possible time on the journey that the bellhops could’ve stopped and done this.That combined with the fact that we know several of the pieces of luggage never touched any other hands except the owners throughout our journey home, we are further convinced the theft happened at the resort. We took it to another level then, by reaching out to what we thought was Lomas corporate, all they did was reiterate, the resort management findings. During our stay, some of our group, also experienced issues where they were locked out of their safe. Something that’s never happened to any of us who have traveled to many other resorts. Sadly, it was after this, that we took to TripAdvisor and found several other reviews of people having similar experiences. So, if you still choose to patronage this resort, or the Palms, which is basically the same place, do not use your safe and do not trust your luggage with anyone else.

We had a group of 16 who went to the resort. The grounds are beautiful. It is like your own tropical island. It is a large resort with a lot to discover. The food was very good. Just be sure to get reservations immediately. The staff was very friendly. We had our favorites and had a great time with them. The building itself is in need of some repairs and paint. I was happy with our room and bedding. I was planning on coming back to the resort in the future. The day of checkout we had a bell hop coming for 10:45 to 8 rooms on different floors and different buildings. From 10 to 10:45 we noticed 3 staff members hanging by our rooms which seemed odd. They seemed impatient, but yet why weren't they cleaning other rooms in the mean time. Anyway, the bell hop came and was pretty insistent about taking all our luggage. We kept our personal item and gave him our carry on and checked bag. It was out of our sight from when we gave to him to when we met him in lobby and it was loaded on cart. All 16 of us had a similar experience. Upon getting home, 72 items in total were missing from 15 of the 16 bags. The resort supposedly investigated, but gave us tampered photos of the bell hop. No photos of mention of the other employees hanging at our rooms. They said it did not happen at resort, yet it was the only time any of us did not have control of carry on bags. Some lost very sentimental items. If you do give this resort a chance, do not let bags out of sight. Very disappointed and lost a lot of trust I once had.

My one complaint up until the day we were leaving is that it is quite a walk to each of the restaurants and if you don’t book them way in advance you won’t be able to get a table during your stay. With all of that being said I have one solid piece of advice if you are booking this all inclusive NEVER give your luggage to the bellhop to bring over to the lobby. That luggage is out of your eye sight for a good 15-20 minutes and our group of 16 (8 couples) learned the hard way that this was a very costly mistake.

Terrible hotel TUI should be ashamed to even be offering this hotel as it’s a very poor and badly run hotel at best it’s probably 2/3 start the food terrible when u can actually get in a restaurant as there is 3 hotels using the palm side which we had the miss fortune to stay over crowded long waits for food and the the dictator style guards dictating when u can and can’t come in is a joke! U have to queue for everything there is nothing relaxing about this hotel breakfast to get eggs is 40 mins as they cook one egg at a time? U have to get up at 7am to get a subbed by the pool or beach as everyone reserves them then disappear back to bed sand bags in the sea drug dealer on the beach hassling u every day we had a swim up room which was dirty and run down but we couldn’t use as everyone from over the 3 hotels would be in it getting drunk and so loud u couldn’t sit on your balcony and also a drunk American was sick in the pool ! The resort is over run with drunk American and Canadians screaming and shouting also a lot under age this was meant to be a relaxing couples retreat but it’s nothing like advertised it’s like a 18/30s booze up holiday with people u would find in Benidorm all in all massively disappointing and way over priced will not be returning to Mexico after this horrible experience

We were here in March/April of 2024. We enjoyed it so much we decided to return! The staff makes this resort a 5 star experience! Shout outs to these amazing people who made our vacation incredible. We love you all so much! Bartenders - Veronica, Alicia, Juanita, Ana ____ Waiters - Jose, Alejandro, Bellboys/golf cart drivers - Victor, Gustavo, ___ Food was good. We particularly liked room service breakfast and the deep fried burrito and club sandwich. Sandwichere pizza was the best (especially once we found Jose and Alejandro to serve us and have fun with Don Julio). Klay Talay was wonderful! Room was beautiful, spacious and clean - we scored the top floor honeymoon level thanks to our travel agent requesting for us. The best view! Beach and Bali beds. The beach on the palms side of the resort is gorgeous. Snorkeling is great and Bali beds are plentiful - even arriving late morning. Night life is ok, but we always make our own fun - and steal ALL THE FUN to ourselves. Make the cart rides fun with our music and lights. Drivers put up with us and joined in! Yoga with Adrianna was a highlight. Her beautiful smile and gracious energy was such a treat. Spa was nice. Hydrotherapy session was awesome. I had a massage that was ok and my friend said hers was spectacular! We are booked r return again in April and CAN NOT wait!

Second time at this resort. First time 2019. Definitely has changed since first time but as cost was the same as in 2019 then changes should be expected. Staff were great. Absolutely no criticism or review of staff. Everyone was friendly and moved quickly. As in most places tipping is appreciated but never saw anyone get worse service if they did not tip. Food was decent. In three a la carte restaurants that walk in only had to wait 40 minutes but there are more than enough places to grab a drink or snack. Breakfast and lunch places were very good and quick. Food at dinner was decent in a la carte. Buffet was ok but they were trying hard. My main issue is that we stayed on ground floor of Seaside Suite and it was loud all afternoon. I do not blame the event staff but if you want peace and quiet be in a room far away from the swim up bar. Drinks were excellent for the price of the place. There were two bars that were quiet in evening and good places to relax. Rooms were clean. A/C worked well. Did not go to beach so no comment. Did not attend shows so no comment. Far away from Cancun Airport so if you can fly in to Talum you are better off.

First time in Mexico and had a great time, all the restaurants dished up exceptional foods and catered for all. The staff were so a tentative and would help out where ever they could. Very clean and comfortable huge beds along with a good selection inclusive minibar. Night entertainment was on around the complex for all to enjoy, entertainment in the day was also available. The beach is nice but a problem with the sea weed, which is a problem in Mexico but staff there worked tireless in the heat removing it day after day.

I love Benjami, Luana, Maria, and Luis. They made my experience so amazing. They made me want to participate in the activities and have such a fun experience. We participated in the crazy game and coconut painting and they started the party for our trip off right.

This was such a beautiful, relaxing and comfortable place for an anniversary trip with my husband. The included excursions were amazing! The food and drinks were great and easy to access at anytime. Wonderful staff everywhere! Especially Manuel in the buffet!

I started looking at TripAdvisor reviews about this hotel both before and after booking, and as our departure date got closer, some really made me think we’d made a big mistake. Fortunately, I was wrong on the whole, and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel, which stands on a stunning beach with soft white sand and crystal-clear water, does a lot right, but I think there is a little room for improvement. I saw some reviewers on this site saying that one part or another of the resort was better than the other, but the fact is that everyone can go everywhere and use everything (with the odd exception – for example, there’s a pool and pool bar for the exclusive use of premium guests on the Palms side). Having walked between both sides every day several times (there are plenty of golf buggies to hop onto if you don’t fancy walking), we were happy to be based in the Palms side. TUI seem to use the Palms side of the resort, low-level blocks of accommodation set in pretty gardens, while visitors from Canada and the US seem to be put in the more modern-looking, higher rise Seaside Suites side. Our second-floor room was very comfortable with plenty of hanging and storage space, a two-sink bathroom with separate loo and powerful shower. There was a hairdryer, robes and slippers, good air-con and a massive whirlpool bath in the living area of the bedroom. It was too hot to use it really, but we were quite impressed by it! The toiletries provided – hand wash, body lotion, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner – were good quality and plentiful. The fridge was stocked daily with water, beers, soft drinks and even crisps, and there was a coffee maker, with coffee and milk replaced daily. Walking round the grounds, you can pop into one of the concierge offices to book into the two à la carte restaurants (Asian and Italian), and I would advise you do this straightaway to avoid disappointment – we really enjoyed both. Getting into restaurants was the only slight negative of our stay. They don’t make it easy, and for the first couple of days, it was a bit stressful, actually. There’s one buffet restaurant, on the Seaside part of the resort, which is only open for breakfast and dinner. We used it once for dinner and found it didn’t offer quite the selection we’ve seen before in Mexico, but we got something good to eat. There was one evening, when there was a beach barbecue, that it wasn’t open for dinner even though the TUI app said it was. There are three other restaurants for dinner, all waiter service – a Mexican, the Culinarium and the gourmet pub. We went to all of them and thought they were all great. You don’t book these, they are offered on a first-come-first-served basis, which is where it got a bit tricky before we understood how it worked. Generally, you have to turn up at your desired time to eat and hope for the best. We always seemed to be told that there was a waiting time of 1 hour and 40 minutes, but it was never actually this long. They give you a buzzer, which goes off when your table is ready, and we usually got in within about 45 minutes. So, if we wanted to eat at 8.30pm, we’d make our inquiry at 7.45pm, and that worked well. If you don’t mind eating later, we noticed that people turning up at 9pm generally got in with no bother. There are taco stands at the bar at the front of the hotel, if all else fails! There is a good choice of places to eat at breakfast and lunch. Driftwood, on the Seaside part of the resort is waiter service at both meal times. I loved the blackened tuna at lunchtime, and thought it a real pity it didn’t open in the evenings. On the Palms side, there’s The Restaurant, with a buffet inside and Mexican specialities outside. Again, such a shame this didn’t open for dinner. At lunch only, there’s also a section that serves burgers, hot dogs, pizza, burritos and nachos. Then there’s the vegan restaurant on the beach. This was definitely the best place to sit, just steps from the sea, and the food, despite neither of us being vegan, was delicious. We thought all the drinks were very good quality, and particularly enjoyed a mimosa every morning at breakfast! The wines were generally good, white, red, rose and sparkling, and all the bars made me excellent negronis, as well as other cocktails. On the TUI website the Mezcalito bar has an asterisk denoting an extra charge, but this was not the case, and it was a good place to go before dinner at the à la carte restaurants. They have some different bottled beers too if you ask. Both on the beach and around the pools are plenty of sun-loungers, and more Bali beds than we’ve ever seen elsewhere, and the pool towels were available from boxes, so you help yourself whenever you want. There’s a beach bar at the far end of the beach, which also serves food at lunchtime, and there was very attentive waiter service at the pool we used (thank you Patricia, among others)! Make sure you take some small denomination pesos or dollars, the staff don’t seem to expect it, but really deserve a tip. Every member of staff we came across was smiley and friendly, and the common areas, including the loos, were kept just as clean as our room. We didn’t see much in terms of evening entertainment, mostly because we were probably eating dinner when it was on, but there was music advertised most evenings. Would have liked some live music after 10pm, but earlyish nights meant that we were up with the lark, or should that be pelican, every morning and able to make the most of the wonderfully hot and sunny days.

We have been staying at the El Dorado Suites/Palms for the last 2 weeks and we are returning home to the UK today. We are more than happy to be going home. If you are looking for a 5 star experience then this is not the place for you (or us). I would rate it at 3 star. I was turning 60 during our stay so we upgraded to a premium swim up pool room. I have never in my life asked to be moved to a different room but I did at the El Dorado. I asked if we could be moved to a room that had been refurbished. Reception told me I was already in one that had been refurbished and the hotel being at full capacity meant there was no alternative. The rooms are dated, furnishings are stained,the whole finish is poor. There is no wall between the bedroom and bathroom so you get to see your other half in/on the toilet ( proper romantic). Rooms are noisy. The worst of the noise comes from employees rolling service carts around during the night. Solid wheels crashing along concrete. Luckily I had earplugs which helped enormously (get some). The Premium pool area was decent with access to the pool bar which serves nice cocktails along with beers and spirits etc. The days are pleasant , the hotel gardens are beautiful. The evenings however are where it really goes badly wrong. You can download an app which gives you information on what bars/restaurants are open......don't believe what it says, it's often inaccurate. The restaurant situation is a real head scratcher. The 3 themed restaurants are difficult to access, they get booked up really quickly and we were only offered late dining times so we didn't bother. The Cullinarium is a souless,cold canteen. I am not a big eater but the portions are tiny and it's all very average. The Gourmet Pub has a nicer atmosphere but again the food is average. The desserts look like they came straight from a box in the freezer, total rubbish. The main buffet is the Seaside Market. This is where we mainly ate. There is a reasonable amount of choice here and the quality is fair. Twice we turned up here for dinner and it was closed due to functions at the beach so we ordered room service. We ordered the burger which was nice. Last night we ordered the same thing but it never turned up. The bar situation in the evening is truly awful. The bar near the Cullinarium is small,it doesn't do cocktails and there is nowhere to sit anyway. The pop up bar in front of reception is again woefully inadequate and doesn't do any cocktails. The seating there could not be more uncomfortable. High tables, high hard angular wooden stools. Truly awful. The beach bar is probably the busiest area but again there is just not enough seating. We ended up standing or sitting on the wall. We noticed many many people heading back to their rooms early, maybe that's what the management are aiming for ? There are many of our American friends here. They are mostly middle aged but behave like they are on Spring Break. If you enjoy a peaceful ambience you won't find it here I don't know who it is at TUI that graded this a Tui Blue 5 star hotel but they are obviously incompetent, we have stayed at 3 star hotels which we have enjoyed more. I'm convinced you will find a better hotel than this for 5 grand so please take a careful look around and give the El Dorado a miss.

I was a little concerned reading some of the reviews, however, I’m now on day 8 of a 10 day holiday here, and there is nothing to worry about. Beach/pools You can always get a Bali bed or sun longer at any time, the only area that fills up quickly in the beach area near the beach bbq and bar frontera, it’s certainly worth a slightly early morning, 8am ish to reserve a space. The breeze is amazing, beautiful views with hammocks, Bali beds etc and a great bar service. The entertainment pools are quite lively, we only went once as we preferred the tranquility and views around the quiet pool. Restaurants Breakfast and lunch you are spoiled for choice, if you prefer eating inside or outside on the pier in the shade, there’s always a table available. During the day, we generally dined in the restaurant in seaside suites, Sandwicherie (best pizzas) or the beach bbq. Our only disappointment was the seaside market, food was good but the service was not great. Al a Carte dining, you only have to book for the Asian and Italian, but book early on a Saturday for the following week. We are eating in those over the next 2 days. Non bookable al a Carte, the Mexican and pub, if you want to eat ap approx 7.30, go in at 6.50 and they will tell you that there is a 40 minute wait, they will give you a buzzer and call you when your tables ready, you can then go off for a pre dinner drink hassle free. Room service is included, arrives promptly and food is ok too. All bars are great. There is a little cocktail bar named mezcalitos, it by the Asian restaurant. No one seems to know about it and it does the best cocktails. Rooms We booked a premier room, this came with a private pool for premier guests only and lunch bites, we sat around the pool for 1 hour on the first day, then left. It has a swim up bar etc, but you felt packed in like sardines and the views are of the high rise building, defined the least scenic pool. Although the rooms are a bit dated, they are big and clean, with very comfy, large beds and pillow. Drinks fridge and snacks topped up daily. You will need to download the TUI blue app for a listing of the daily programme. Lots to do if you prefer a more active holiday, but no pressure if you just want to chill and read a few books. The overall complex is huge, which is what we liked, each day you could sit in a different area and experience a different holiday. There are lots of electric buggies to take you to different parts of the complex, but we preferred the walk, it’s so pretty with a lovely breeze. We estimated between 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day. Overall it’s been a great holiday, we normally do the Caribbean or Mexico every March, always 5 star and we would definitely return El Dorado seaside suites again.

We just arrived home today, we were sad to leave this beautiful resort. We’ve been to several resorts in the Riviera Maya and this place has been our favourite by far. We enjoyed ourselves so much, the theme nights are fantastic! But, you know what the best part about this place is? THE STAFF!! I lost count how many times I was told, “it’s been my pleasure to serve you”. Benjamin & Luana(pool) Diego(concierge) Timothy, Diana, Mary(Seaside Market) All of the shuttle drivers (I’m ashamed to say I can’t recall their names) are just some of the staff we encountered. The only issue I encountered was that I have mobility difficulties and I found there were a lot of steps everywhere and most of the chairs and toilets were very low to the ground, but still not enough to keep me away.
