The views. Amazing!
Breakfast was plentiful in choice, variety and catered for all tastes.
Unfortunately the pool was too cold for me so we didn't enjoy a dip, although it looked very pretty and there were plenty of beds.
We didn't eat here (as we've been to Dubrovnik before we know there's lots of great places within the city so chose there instead). The bus to the city is cheap and goes regularly. It can be crowded but we honestly enjoy the buzz you get when it's busy and the views throughout the journey are more than enough to keep you entertained.
There are a small amount of shops, restaurants and bars within 5 mins of the hotel and enjoyed a couple of really nice meals there, too, so if you don't want to go far they're a nice change.
A really lovely place for a weeks relaxation

One of the better 5* hotels in the Med. The atmosphere and clientele really stand this hotel apart from others, guests are relaxed and respectful. There is no crazy rush for sun loungers at the pool nor are they left vacant all day with towels on them.
Our room was really quite comfortable and the view out over the sea is great, this seems to be the case for all rooms. Two pools, one outdoor and one indoor is really good - the indoor pool is actually massive and has a large number of loungers indoors which means you can still have that relaxation time when the weather is bad outside.
The beach is essentially on the ground floor of the hotel and also has a large number of loungers. There is a water sports/activity centre at the beach as well and we did scuba diving from here.
The buffet had a great selection of food for breakfast/dinner and we never had to wait for a table. Water was never free, only offered in bottles which you had to pay for.
There is a bus stop at the hotel reception and also it's possible to walk along the coastal pathway for great views and past several other upmarket hotels.

Possibly the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. Beautifully appointed, the room was quiet and very comfortable and definitely the best hotel breakfast I've ever come across - an almost inexhaustible range of options from cold platters to freshly cooked omelettes. The location at the far end of the Line 6 bus route into Dubrovnik centre is also very convenient as you are guaranteed a place on the bus which starts (and finishes) right outside. We didn't try the evening meals here and I regret not doing so as the options available at local restaurants within walking distance weren't anything very remarkable. The staff were very professional and helpful at all times. Highly recommended.

We were moved to this hotel because Valamar Argosy was closing early. It was the last week of the season. The hotel was spotless . The rooms were spacious if a little dated. Our bathroom had a bath and bidet and I noticed all the toiletries were refillable. There was a heavy emphasis on green issues which was good to see. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The views from the balcony were amazing and it was lovely that we could hear the sea from our room. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Andrea in the dining room. The food was very good there was lots of choice for breakfast and dinner. The gelato was heavenly.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend the half board option.

We had an excellent stay here in a V-level room which was lovely with the extras such as the V lounge. The hotel has good facilities and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the Momenti terrace was a great start to the day. We dined in the Momenti on one night and the buffet restaurant on another, both were very good. Very easy to take the bus to the old town.

This hotel is set in such a stunning place. The pebble beach is immaculate and clean with lots of sun beds. We never had to rush early to get a bed, that sort of thing doesn't happen here. The water is crystal clear and very refreshing to swim in. It was a little cold in October, but that didn't stop us going in. Take a snorkel, there's lots of fish to see.
The hotel is set in a beautiful area, there are a number of other Valamar hotels close by and there is a stunning promenade that takes you around the coast of Babin Kuk to Lapad. There are lots of lovely bars and restaurants on the way. We recommend the More Cave bar. It has beautiful views over the stunning coast line.
We couldn't fault the hotel. The facilities were excellent and the lobby/ entrance is very impressive. The staff were all wonderful, they were very friendly and helpful. In some reviews people state the staff are unfriendly, we never encountered this. Everyone was wonderful..
The outdoor pool area is stunning, with an infinity pool that overlooks the glorious coast. The indoor pool and spa facilities are also great.
We stayed half board, which I would recommend. Eating out is expensive and the food provided by the buffet restaurant was outstanding! There was so much choice and it was cooked fresh in front of you. The selection was mind blowing and of excellent quality. The breakfast was the same, I'm not quite sure how I will manage without my breakfast mimosa every day!
We absolutely loved this place. I would take any negative reviews with a pinch of salt. You will not be disappointed by this hotel.
The only minor is that the corridors are looking a little tired, but that is the only negative I can put about this hotel. The room was beautiful, with the biggest bed and the most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on. Toiletries and towels are provided. So save on packing them. The balcony was huge and has stunning sea view. The sunset every night was beautiful.

We have just returned from a week in Dubrovnik staying at the President Hotel. From the outset our stay was wonderful. The huge reception area is stunning with a panoramic sea view. The staff were helpful and efficient and the ambience of the place was clean, relaxed bright and spacious. The evening log fire was particularly nice to sit around and listen to the live music.
Our premium double room was clean spacious and really well thought out. The bathroom was enormous with walk in shower, double wash basins and bathtub. The water was always hot. There were soaps, shampoos etc and everything was eco friendly.
The double bed was huge and comfy and the feather pillows were wonderful. Our balcony with sea view was lovely and we sat out with a glass of wine to watch the beautiful sunsets. We had no problems whatsoever with noise from other guests. The minibar was really useful to chill our wine and milk for tea and coffee.
We had half board and the food was just to our taste. Lots of choice with lovely fresh fruits and vegetables along with all sorts of other dishes. The nightly fruit crumbles with a serving of ice cream were a particular favourite.
All the staff we met were helpful, respectful, kind and friendly. Even the weather was perfect and the bus taking us into the old town was right outside. Nice coastal walks from the hotel in both directions and Dubrovnik old town is stunning,
We have had a wonderful holiday. Thank you so much.

Had booked this hotel due to the location & view.
Transfers to & from the airport were great.
Drink on arrival was a nice touch.
Hotel lobby was huge, with minimalistic decor & amazing views.
Bus to & from Old Town stopped across the road which was great.
Rooms were nice but there was some wear & tear in a few places. Balcony had sun loungers but there was no cushions or towels provided for them.
2 large books in room, but none of them provided any details on hotel information, you had to scan a QR code for any information.
The beach was nice, but unfortunately the pier in front of the beach was full of noisy teenagers jumping into the sea all day. Cushions on the loungers were quite dirty.
The staff started to remove cushions & towels from sun loungers around 5pm
I would probably rate this more like a 4 star hotel which definitely needs improvement.
Stayed at the Lopesan Costa Meloneras in Gran Canaria in June & that's definitely a 5 star hotel.

Just returned from a week at the President and having walked for miles exploring the area, honestly believe this is the best hotel.
About half an hour transfer from the airport, a ten minute taxi ride into the Old Town of Dubrovnik, and a five minute drive to the marina. (took around an hour to walk to the old town and half an hour to the marina)
Allocated room 4025 which we couldn’t fault (except for the extremely heavy door that didn’t like being locked closed!) - it was spacious, clean, huge balcony with table, chairs and sun beds and most importantly, a fantastic view of the beach and wider area, plus the most beautiful sunsets of anywhere around.
Lovely coastal scenic walking paths to take you from Babin Kuk past other nearby hotels, beaches and restaurants to either the marina or into Lapad, where you can either explore the hilly forest path up beyond the Royal Palace Hotel and into the old town or take the main road.
Breakfasts were varied, consistent and of good quality - chefs on hand to make fresh omelettes and every type of milk you could want. (note no baked beans here if that bothers you)!
Food and drink was on a par with everywhere else in Dubrovnik - a little steep compared to the UK but didn’t spoil the holiday.
It’s a classy hotel and probably more 4* than 5 as others have said, but as stated at the outset, we checked out many other hotels and this is the nicest with the absolute best location and outlook.

This hotel is an ideal location, situated a short bus ride away from the old city of Dubrovnik.
It is a lovely hotel and we really agree with it's claim it serves the best breakfast in Dubrovnik - the choice is amazing and to a very high standard. We also ate in the buffet restaurant in the evenings, and again the food was to a very high standard with a wide choice to suit all tastes.
Not sure if it was the end of the season but the hotel did let itself down in several ways during our stay. We had repeated problems with the central programming of our air con in our room, a broken & uncomfortable bed. The staff were helpful and we moved rooms. The spa area is very neglected and sad looking, it really could all do with a good clean and refresh. The indoor pool was nice, as was the outside pool area. My husband cut his foot on a piece of class by the pool, and the next day there was a blitz on cleaning and tidying up around the pool area.
Just be aware everything is an extra - sun beds and shades on the beach in particularly are expensive. Despite this, we found the beach very untidy and dirty with litter - not as one would expect of a 5 star hotel. The rooms on the lowest ground floor had that whiff of sewage. I was disappointed not to be able to have decaffeinated coffee for the room - I was told it was too expensive & I would have to purchase from the bar.
In summary, it is a lovely hotel but if it is to be a true 5* hotel it needs to up its game.

Lovely room with spacious and private sun balcony. Great indoor and outdoor pools & private beach. Breakfasts and evening meals really high quality. Bus stop straight over the road , busses every 10mins until after midnight, only a 15 min ride down into the old town. Delightful coast walks straight from the hotel, especially along the bay to Sunset Beach resort. Thank you Valemar President for an amazing stay.

Reception area and bars fantastic. Great welcome when we arrived with drink. Staff absolutely outstanding, reception, waiters, bar staff, housekeeping, all friendly and helpful. Food really nice buffet for breakfast and evening meal. What really let's this hotel down is rooms need updating. Ours had the outer fridge door taped as was not secure and the leather headboard was scuffed. But they are nice and big and roomy. Bus runs regularly to the Old Town which was handy. Very well located.

Stunning views, great facilities and a concierge system to help book excursions.
Beautiful coastal walk to Lapad, passing various bars and swimming spots, and a bus service to the Old Town from outside the hotel every 10 mins costing €2.50 each way. Couldn’t be easier!

Great hotel in a great location - definite 5* experience!
I didn't tell the hotel it was my husband's birthday during our stay, but on the day we came back to a bottle of wine and a handwritten note, which was extremely appreciated!!!
- Perfect location! All rooms overlooking the sea
- The bus stop is outside, which gets you into the old town quickly (didn't use uber once)
- Rooms nice size and came with a big balcony
- Breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent - nice bit of variety at dinner too. Ice cream stand was particularly yummy
- Very friendly and helpful staff
What could be improved? Truly, we had a fantastic stay and these are all small details...but as other reviews have said, a coffee machine in the rooms would have been nice, and it would have been nice if tap water was available at dinner (all drinks had to be paid for)...lastly, the hotel website said that if you found a cheaper deal elsewhere they'd match it and give you 5% off... I'm pretty sure I found just this, but they never emailed me back and last I heard, they were checking with management...
