The hotel lives up to all expectations. Set in magnificent grounds with plenty of activities… golf, fishing, shooting, archery, spa etc… it’s a wonderful hotel. Lots of eating options… from the golf club (which stopped serving food at 4:30 when we were there), the bar and the restaurant… there’s something to suit everyone. Staff were fantastic… special mention to Matthew in the restaurant who was an absolute credit to the hotel. Room was lovely, food was lovely, facilities and grounds lovely… and staff lovely. What more can I say - a wonderful luxury retreat when you want to treat yourselves!

We recently stayed here in a stateroom for 2 nights to cap off our tour of Ireland. This castle stay exceeded our already high expectations. The service here is impeccable and it was fun just to chat up with the staff and hear their stories and experiences. The room was very large and had plenty of storage. It was low season and the hotel only had a few guests while we were there so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The golf course is right by the castle and there is a pool and fitness room by the Pro shop. It is by no means an inexpensive hotel but I would encourage you to at least stay a couple of nights if you wanted to check a castle stay off your bucket list. We didn’t want to leave and could have easily stayed there for a few weeks. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent bank holiday weekend at Dromoland Castle. The quality of our stay continues to improve with each visit, thanks to the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff in all areas. The breakfast offered a wide selection of hot and cold dishes. Dinner at the Earl of Thomond restaurant was superb, featuring outstanding service and exquisite cuisine in a beautiful setting. Dined at the Fig Tree restaurant, appreciating its casual ambience, excellent service, and diverse menu options. Would highly recommend Dromoland Castle for a luxurious, memorable, and relaxing getaway, and I look forward to returning again in the future.

Helpful attentive porters to greet one on arrival, valet parking, help with luggage (necessary because of the 12 steep steps to the front door. Very elaborate foyer including full suit of armour. Sumptuous furnishings throughout. Dinner in both restaurants high quality (be warned that choices are not necessarily as shown on web pages). Breakfast buffet has huge range of foods, well stocked. Sadly cooked breakfast a let down. Saturday morning in main dining room the poor timing meant toast, tea all cold before cooked food arrived...lukewarm Sunday morning in the temporary dining room (gorgeous sun filled room) was a fiasco....3 requests for milk before it arrived, 2 requests for toast which took 17 minutes to arrive and 27 minutes from order to arrival for cooked food. Meanwhile tea and toast are stone cold. This was repeated at 4 other tables in our line of vision. * don't book in on rugby match days....the TVs are tiny and non HD*

This is the second time I spent three days at dromoland castle.i write this review as I lay in bed at ashford castle. I wish I never left dromoland. The service at dromoland is far superior than that of ashford castle. Ashford castle reminds me of a las vegas resort....

The service at dromoland is far superior than that of ashford castle. Ashford castle reminds me of a las vegas resort. Screaming kids long wait times for lunch or dinner. If I could get my money back I would check out tomorrow. Look for review on tik tok.

Just stayed for two nights after Christmas. This is a lovely cosy hotel but all the staff make it a very special experience. We had dinner on the first night in the clubhouse , opted for the tasting menu in the main restaurant on the second night and were guided through all the courses , a great meal with very attentive staff . We would consider staying again .

Dromoland is a magical place at Christmas . Beautiful Christmas trees and decor throughout . Check in was friendly and efficient . However lunch service was lacking , our desserts never arrived after half hour . We mentioned to manager who immediately rectified . Sparkling waters did not arrive but...

Dromoland is a magical place at Christmas . Beautiful Christmas trees and decor throughout . Check in was friendly and efficient . However lunch service was lacking , our desserts never arrived after half hour . We mentioned to manager who immediately rectified . Sparkling waters did not arrive but were on bill. Our room was beautiful . Spotlessly clean and very comfortable . Dinner at the earl of thomond was flawless. The dress code is certainly lacking at times at dinner , a few in hoodies and jeans . Lovely breakfast , great staff and front of house . Our third overnight stay at the castle and we loved it .

Such warm, welcoming staff. Have never experienced luxury like this before. From greeting to turn down. Wonderful. Expect to be spoiled for any other hotel. Breakfast in the dining hall was an amazing experience in itself. Just walking the halls and taking it all in was overwhelming.

Dromoland castle is that type of experience that creates life long memories that are irreplaceable. The setting, the staff, the rooms …everything about Dromoland is wonderful and memorable. It is the type of experience that takes you away from the monotony of everyday life and preprogrammed vacations.

This estate delivers on its 5 star service, activities and accommodations. Oh, and the food was the best during our two weeks in Ireland. This estate delivers on its 5 star service, activities and accommodations. Oh, and the food was the best during our two weeks in Ireland. We loved our afternoon with Clementine and falconry experience. Walks along with the myriad paths in the quiet countryside were special. The staff is top-notch and creates a friendly atmosphere even with our casual lifestyle. Nearby town of Ennis is worth a visit.

This place is so special. The hotel, the grounds, the restaurants. The staff is so kind and accommodating. Had a wonderful dinner last night and our sommelier Erik was wonderful. He took such good care of us. Love it here wish we could stay longer.

We flew into Dublin and then drove to the Cliffs of Moher the next day to get another experience of Ireland. We decided to stay at Dromoland because when else are you going to have the chance to stay in a castle?!?! Every SINGLE person went above and beyond to truly give you the experience of being in a castle. From the porter to the wait staff in the restaurants (Erik at Earl of Thomond) to the attention to detail by the bartender in making your drink, everything was 10+. At dinner we listened to the beautiful music of an Irish harp and then another night, had a nightcap outside the bar with a local Irish musician. The food was excellent, the room was beautiful, the grounds were refreshing and peaceful....I could have stayed there forever. The morning we left, we did a free history tour of the castle with Ms. O'Brien. It took about an hour and a half and was so interesting. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

This was our second stay at Dromoland Castle, the first being about 20 years ago and my goodness what an improvement. It was quite chaotic when we arrived as a large party were leaving but we checked in and as our room wasn't ready, we were offered tea/ coffee while we waited. Imagine our delight when we were given not only tea/coffee in the beautiful cocktail bar overlooking the lake/ golf course but also freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream. What a magnificent start to our stay! Our room was a Queen Anne and overlooked the courtyard. It was a generously sized room with a fabulous modern bathroom with separate shower and bath! Gorgeous Love Jo creams/bath gel etc. Irish shortcake biscuits with tea/nespresso machine were most welcome. We were however quite surprised that there was no Irish tea! There was Kenyan, Green & Red Berry! I prefer Barry's any day of the week! The turndown service left chocolates and refreshed the bath towels etc. We tried to make the most of all the outdoor facilities on the estate. We used the complimentary bikes to ride around the lake, we enjoyed a drink at the 19th hole (the club house) we hired a buggy to explore the grounds, we used the wellingtons available in the foyer to walk to the Mercury Temple, the Hermit's Grotto and the Lily Pond. The Walled Garden is simply stunning. Fairy lights cover the entrance and look spectacular when lit up in the evening. We had dinner in the Fig Tree. Apart from the mix up of not being able to find our booking (I had booked months ago we still had a fab table and service was great. My Hake with wild mushroom risotto was superb and my husband loved his Irish stew. We enjoyed cocktails in the wonderful cocktail bar - my French Martini was superb and ended the evening with post dinner drinks in the drawing room listening to a local singer and musician who was amazing. Everything with our stay was outstanding-the staff are top notch - we simply cannot wait to return for golf and spa experiences! Thank you all!
