We had several encounters with the beautiful wildlife, but what more can you expect when you live partly in a jungle, partly on a beach.
Morning coffee accompanied with wild iguanas, craps, watching pelicans and fregat birds chasing turtles, what more do you want.
The small house beach, the long paradise beach 100meters away… we are coming back

Special shoutout to front desk gents Paco, Enrique, and Javi for being extra nice and answering all our questions!
Book a massage with Erika. You can thank me later!
Located in the National Park hotel zone it feels very safe and secure. The park guards actually check all incoming vehicles.
Owned by the charismatic actor, businessman, and activist Roberto Palazuelos: the man is passionate about taking care of the people, animals, and ecology of Quintana Roo.
As a nod to Mayan legends, the letter K was used to honor the Mayan god Kukulcan.
Number of Rooms: 29 and a variety of options here so be sure to check out the room types on their website.
Price Range: Depends on the season and room type but this hotel is VERY affordable! Like, crazy-good.
Remember to come with pesos there’s no money machine on property and all the activities (cacao ceremony, reiki, massages are a few on offer) you need to pay in cash.

We really loved our brief stay at Diamante K. It was nice to be close in Tulum but far from the sounds of late night entertainment. We booked a two bed bungalow with ocean views and loved it. We had breakfast at the restaurant several mornings and dinner there a couple times, too. We had at least a beer or cocktail there each day. Johnny and Emmanuel were great!

We had a brilliant time at this very charming hotel with epic views, great service & our room was really gorgeous. The food was fab, & the staff in the restaurant were top notch. The little cove was fab for swimming. The waves were just perfect. Personally, I prefer to stay in the national park, than along the hotel area. I appreciate that it’s a bit more restrictive (you can’t bring certain items into the park) & you pay a bit extra to access the park, but it’s just magical.

If you’re looking for more of a party vibe, you won’t be happy here. You’ll have to take a taxi to the hotel zone for the clubs.
The food is excellent and well priced. Not cheap, mind you, but MUCH less than other hotel restaurants in the hotel zone.
Please note there isn’t air conditioning in the rooms. They have a lovely fan over the bed and we had no problem cooling off at nights.

Staying in Diamante K was truly the highlight of our stay in Tulum. Located in the middle of a national park, on the other end of Hotel Zone, away from the overpriced pretentiousness. You walk in and you immediately feel like you set foot in a forest surrounded by a peaceful zen vibe.
Trees and vegetation are everywhere, and you are literally on the coast. The beach is a short walk over some rocks, and hardly any people.
The buddhist style artwork is absolutely stunning, and canopy beds for relaxation for anyone to enjoy.
What made the place truly exceptional for us was the people. Every single one of them Enrique, Mike, Carlos, even Marco the owner, all are super hard working and incredibly kind. They succeeded at making all their guests feel welcomed and comfortable.
Casa Maria was a lovely treat. We looked forward to our breakfast right on the beach with coffee, fresh fruit and a choice of various entrees you can pick from the menu. The rotating fruit juices were nothing like I’ve ever tasted.
The pool is a hidden gem tucked away. You feel like you are in a paradise surrounded by trees and the oceanbreeze.
I miss waking up to the sound of the singing birds. It was such an incredible experience. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Food was great! We had the breakfast built in to our stay, you may want to try the "full menu". We were there for 5 days so got bored of the options.
Must have: Pervian Ceviche, guac (duh), Detox drink (just do it), octopus!
Our room Azul was magical -- even without the AC. You don't have privacy as you need to keep the windows open for the ocean breeze - but we didn't mind! We were supplied candle votives for the wall sconces that we lit every nite -- note that as the days went on we were only getting 1 per day vs the 4 units in the room. They were a nice romantic touch. Would've appreciated hair conditioner in the bathroom. We only received one bottle that was never replaced. We're a carryon couple so amenties are important as its the thing we never pack!
The beach area was not usuable due to the seaweed - wish they made you aware. This didn't affect us because we walked down to the other beach area but had no amenities. The pool and yoga area is private on the hill. Do Yoga EVERYDAY.... it was the best part of the trip - every instructor was great and adapted to the people in the class.
We did get a couple massage that is in this small hut by the ocean which is so relaxing. This was my best massage ever --- she really worked out the kinks. Note that people can walk by so for those who are shy and want a dark private location.... this may not appeal to you.
We booked through the hotel a roundtrip - highly recommend. Oscar was great. We tried to book a snorkeling excursion that was confirmed, paid for, and then find out the next morning it was cancelled which was disappointing. The front desk sent us a message in the WhatsApp at 8pm, but never tried to find us when we didn't respond. So skipped Yoga and rushed breakfast to find out we had no plans.... and felt like it was cancelled because we paid on a credit card...
Which leaves me to my biggest pet peeve is how everything was pushed to pay in cash vs credit card. Maybe this was a translation issue so recommend you train your front desk to present it as "if you pay in credit card I have to add 20%" note this is also something you should highlight on your site that use of credit has a surcharge of 20%. And if cash is what you prefer - get an atm machine on site to make it easier for your guest. Also, I would make it clearer on your website and confirmation email that you will ONLY be charged the park fees entering the park and not something added daily to the bill. People should be advised/encouraged to have pesos to help expediate entry.

Diamante K is not a traditional hotel or an all inclusive resort. The hotel is comprised of about 30 bungalows, some attached to others and some free standing. The bungalows are rustic with thatched roofs, canopy beds and overhead electric fans in the canopies. The windows are screened so the breeze can pass through the rooms. There is no air conditioning on the property. There is decent WiFi throughout the property. There is a bar/restaurant called Casa Maria that serves tasty meals and a full selection of beverages. The wait staff is great. The hotel is actually inside the national park that contains the Tulum ruins. It is an east bike ride from the hotel and there are rental bikes available for a reasonable price at the reception desk. We rode into the town of Tulum on bikes as well. It’s only 4.5 miles or so and for most of that distance there is bike path along side the road. Based on the ongoing construction in the area, it won’t be long before there is bus service between the hotel zone on the beach and the town of Tulum. We found this hotel to be exactly the kind of place that we love to stay at— nothing glitzy, nice and quiet, no party vibe, great for stress relief. We would not hesitate to stay here again in the future, especially now that there are direct flights from the US to Tulum International Airport and a comfortable ADO bus ride into town.

**Never make a massage appointment with this hotel!** Or at least expect 45min of delay on your appointment. I regret to say that our experience at this hotel fell far below expectations. Despite arriving early and providing a deposit, our scheduled massage therapist was significantly delayed without any explanation or apology from the staff. Their unprofessional response to our inquiries compounded the frustration. After enduring a 45-minute wait, we opted to cancel and request a refund, only to find our concerns dismissed. Additionally, encountering a large crab in the bathroom was both unexpected and unsettling, yet staff response was inadequate. Overall, the lack of management oversight and professionalism left us deeply disappointed, especially during what should have been a special occasion like our honeymoon. We cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment.

Nice hotel located in an exceptional situation (inside the National park) and great staff. Breakfast is very good with fresh juice, various omelets are also available.
Location of cycles is quite expensive but seems to be the same price in other places.
A beautiful, well presented quiet and laid-back place. We stayed in a small Cabana 20 ft from the ocean. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful, including Johny at the restaurant who is very professional and enjoyable. We have zero complaints about our experience there.
Great Service at Diamante K

The staff were all excellent, cordial, professional and many spoke English well enough to serve us at a 4-star level. We appreciated their positive attitudes and desire to serve and aim to please. Kudos to the owners in selecting such personable staff--especially Javier, Paco and Carlos at the front desk and Emmanuel, Carlos, Miguel and Hector at the restaurant.
Consider renting a bike to go to the ruins, taking a taxi to the Mystika Immersive Museum (amazing!!) and the long expanse of beaches in the Tulum area. Next time we go we'll go to the larger pyramid complex at Chichen Itza about 2 hours west of Tulum.
