We Felt Like Treasured Guests!
What makes it great? Every staff member offered hospitality that felt personal - from doormen, front staff, concierge (booked us into some very good restaurants), waiters, and room staff. What makes it great? Every staff member offered hospitality that felt personal - from doormen, front staff, concierge (booked us into some very good restaurants), waiters, and room staff. Besides this all-important aspect of personalized service, the location is so central, on the Amstel. We could enjoy the view, and we could also walk to many museums and restaurants. Rooms were impeccably clean and beautifully appointed and so comfortable - beds were perfect - with large marble bathroom with heated floors, great water pressure and lots of hot water. The spa robes were great for those few moments of lounging around! There is a spa and pool on site, but we did not avail ourselves of their use since we were so busy with sight-seeing. BTW, a canal boat cruise runs about 100 yards from the hotel entrance. We really hope to have another stay at this memorable modernized "grand dame" of a hotel!

We had a layover both on our way to Finland for the new year as on the way home, so as a true LHW fan I picked this hotel. There is a certain level of service and comfort that I have come to expect from hotels that are part of the LHW (leading hotels of the world) group and this one was no exception. From the moment we arrived until we left they checked every box. Accommodations clean, luxurious and comfortable. Food was excellent in both restaurants as well as room service. Staff went above and beyond and followed up on everything to make sure our stay was wonderful. There is nothing better after a long international flight to know that from the moment you touch down the hotel has you covered and treats you like family. We had the perfect room with a balcony on the Amstel and got to witness one of the best fireworks displays for new years even. We without a doubt will be returning when we next visit Amsterdam.

Fantastic five star experience. Fabulous stuff, beautiful hotel, great rooms and terrific location. We had an issue with the noise level in our room because it was near an elevator, and they promptly switched us to a new room which was upgraded. And then they wrote a handwritten note to apologize. Similarly, we had an issue with her flight being canceled, and they made the rebooking completely seamless. At the end of the trip we got a Dyptique candle as a gift. Highly recommend.

Was expecting exceptional service at this 5 star hotel and experienced all this and more. Quintessentially 5 stars Stunning property both inside and out. Simply classic luxury from the robes and towels to the nightly turn done service. Classic furniture in the rooms in first class condition. One of the best hotel stays ever and we’ve been lucky enough to stay in hotels worldwide. Every single member of staff we came into contact with were incredibly friendly and professional. The traditional Dutch cake at reception was delicious and a lovely touch. The bathrooms in the rooms were so cosy and had everything you need. Could’ve left my toilet bag at home. Now I would like a Dyson hairdryer though lol. The fluffy bath sheets were the biggest I’ve ever had the pleasure of wrapping myself in. There was also an abundance of towels which is unheard of these days. Umbrellas in the wardrobes were also a lovely touch. The bathrooms in the lobby were simply stunning too. This hotel just screams elegant luxury but not so much that you feel out of place. This is how 5 stars should be. Well done De L’Europe

Our room was right over the canal. It had a balcony as well as the biggest bed I've ever seen, a huge bathroom, roomy shower and separate tub. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We took the private small boat tour for lunch, you choose delicious food from local restaurants. Motored off from the hotels berth, for a very comprehensive tour. For some reason the Captain kept track of our drinks poured, after paying for all inclusive tour...? The location afforded us walking distance (My MS keeps me from much over a mile or two) it seemed like we were right in the middle of almost everything. The Golden Bend, the Flower Market, and The Old Church coffee shop is right across the canal, all distances my MS could handle! I loved Amsterdam and would gladly return to De L'Europe.

Perfect location and wonderful staff.
The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. As we arrived, they offered a lovely glass of champagne. The hotel was in the center of everything and couldn’t have been a better location. I would also experience the bar for a drink at night. Absolutely wonderful hotel!!

EXCELLENT 5-Star experience. Came to Amsterdam on vacation and will ONLY stay at Hotel De L’Europe when we visit again. Polina at the front desk was so welcoming throughout our stay. One of my gripes is hotels that do not provide enough towels and wash cloths. The housekeeping staff EXCEEDED my expectations in this regard. We dined at Marie for a great lunch and breakfast- highly recommended (both for its food and professional staff). We enjoyed our chat with Jordan at the end as well. It all made us sad to leave. If Hotel De L’Europe is in your budget, you MUST stay here.
