Spacious suites boast large balconies, separate living rooms, plush King or Queen pillowtop beds, and two flat-screen televisions with DirecTV. Practical conveniences like a microwave and Keurig coffeemaker are at your disposal.

Dining Delights:

The hotel is also home to the famous Pink Pony, which offers four incredible dining and drinking experiences. Whether it’s a sumptuous meal together or sipping on your favorite cocktail while taking in scenic sunsets, you’ll find that your taste buds are in for a treat.

Sister Hotel:

If you have additional guests joining you for your special day, the Chippewa’s sister hotel, the Lilac Tree Suites, is conveniently located just two blocks away, offering roomy accommodations to meet your needs.

Great Island Experience

Travel Date: October 31, 2024

Good stay at a reasonable price. Very clean, fairly quiet, beds were a little stiff for our liking. Housekeeping was great, room cleaned up each night for us, with candy on the bed as a treat. Nice touch. Easy check in and check out. Elevator was very small, kind of...

Great Waterfront Hotel

Travel Date: September 30, 2024

This is an excellent hotel on Mackinac Island. The Chippewa is a high end hotel. Typically their porters get our luggage to our room before we have finished checking into the hotel-and the checkin process is easy and efficient). Many hotels on the island have lake views, the Chippewa is...

Another great stay at the Chippewa Hotel

Travel Date: September 30, 2024

This is our second time staying at the Chippewa Hotel on Mackinac Island and it was completely excellent! It is one of the historic hotels on the island and it is located right in the middle of downtown on the harbor. We had a Main Street Deluxe One King room...

My 5th Hotel Stay on Mackinac Island....

Travel Date: September 30, 2024

and maybe my favorite. Over the years we have stayed at various hotels, but the Chippewa was really nice. Not only is it centrally located, it is on the water. We got a great deal on a waterfront room, that overlooked the giant hot tub. We were on the main...

Perfect Hotel Choice

My husband and I visited the Chippewa as a retirement gift from my employer. It was our first visit to Mackinac Island. Our harbor side room was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. All the staff were extremely nice and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel on a...

Too near the crowds for our tastes

Travel Date: July 31, 2024

The Chippewa is located near the end of the busy part of Lake Shore Drive (“main street”). And Lake Shore Drive is VERY busy at times, too busy for us. The lobby is very small and often was very crowded. I made the mistake of not carefully looking at the...

You get what you pay for I guess!!!!

Travel Date: August 31, 2024

I don't like leaving bad reviews but for what it cost to stay at this place, I feel that people should know what they are getting themselves into. I am sure some folks are just glamours about this place but we were not impressed. If you like paying $300.00 plus...

Bart and the rest of the front desk crew were fantastic! We visited the Chippewa 50 years ago on our honeymoon and decided to go back on our 50th anniversary. From the moment we checked in until we left Bart and his staff treated us like royalty. The hotel restaurant...

One of the best hotels on the Island

Travel Date: August 31, 2024

This hotel is centrally located on the island. The food at the Pink Poney was fantastic. Nothing real fancy but just good food. Loved the gift shop, it was full of Lilly Pulitzer and Ralph Lauren. If we ever go back I definitely would stay there again

Our first Pink Pony trip!

Travel Date: July 31, 2024

Great location, balcony overlooking the lake and marina. Good location, very clean and spacious. Very expensive though, probably won't stay there again. We usually stay at the Main St. Inn and love it there, much less expensive and a bit more elegant.
