Would rather have stayed in Bayeux where we could walk to other restaurants, shops, etc. The Chateau was not up to 5-star standards per our experience.

Such an amazing experience. A beautifully cared for chateau with pool, tennis courts, bikes and two restaurants. The rooms are amazingly appointed and so comfortable! Staff were very helpful and kind. Elevator and air conditioning were an added plus. We can’t say enough good things about this hotel.

Lovely chateau with great grounds. We arrived early and our room was available, the staff at checking were very helpful. Our room was not in the main house which suited us fine. The bed was a good size, bathroom was a good size and the room was suitable for two nights. We did eat at the garden restaurant the food and service were first class. The hotel is about 2 km from the port which is a busy fishing harbour, worth a visit. We visited some of the D Day memorial sites which were very moving especially the Omaha beach and the Bayeux Commonwealth. Bayeaux which is nearby is a lovely town with some very interesting things to see. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to go back next year.

Breakfast in the dining room is not to be missed. There is a beautiful selection of pastries, fresh fruit, breads, cheeses and hams. Must mention the attentive and friendly service. We truly enjoyed our visit.

Wow!!! We just returned to Chateau La Cheneviere for our 6th stay. Again, our experience was absolutely amazing!!! Everything as memorable and wonderful as our first stay in 2014. The location is very strategic as it can serve as a hub to visit the numerous nearby towns; such as, Etretat, Mont St. Michel, Honfleur, Caen, Bayeux and the D-day Beaches. The estate-hotel sits in the tranquil countryside; elegant with its timeless decor, yet not stuffy, surrounded by beautiful farmland and rolling hills. It is 3 minutes from the seaside quaint little town of Port-en-Bessin and 10 minutes from Bayeau. The gardens are impressively immaculate with its foliage and variety of trees that have to be well over a hundred years old. You will enjoy sitting outside on one of their outdoor areas, sipping a glass of wine, soaking in the spectacular scenery. The rooms are large, very clean, and each decorated in a different and very tasteful manner. The staff is beyond phenomenal. They give you the feeling that you are staying as a guest in their own home. If you have an opportunity, book dinner at their gourmet restaurant Le Botaniste and their Petit Jardín, which is situated in a glass house. The food, service, and ambiance is excellent and different in both restaurants. The dining experience will be an event in itself. In addition, their selection of wines is quite impressive. A special thank you to Aurelie, Justine, and Beatrice for always being so welcoming and attentive to all our needs. Already anticipating our return to Normandy and our next stay at Chateau La Cheneviere.

Stayed at the Chateau during May 2023 and really hoped for more. First off, if you are only staying one night, don’t expect to stay in the chateau, but rather the horse stables converted to rooms. A bit disappointing. Secondly, if you are arriving late and hoping for a meal, don’t expect one. My husband and I had been traveling since 6am that morning and hoped to eat something when we arrived around 9pm, unfortunately nothing warm was available. We ended up waiting until breakfast the next day, which brings me to my next point. The omelet I had the next morning had a human (I hope?) hair in it. It was rather curly so I’d rather not think where it was located before it made it into my omelet. Given that I had not eaten in 24 hours, and that was my first meal, it was fairly repulsive. The staff was very apologetic and did their best to remedy the situation, but would honestly get better food at an Ibis. Not a 5 star resort in the slightest.

A very lovely location just outside Bayeux. Excellent staff, large comfortable rooms and a perfect setting. We would highly recommend this as a great place to spend a few days while touring Normandy. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained.

Everyone here was so friendly and pleasant. We had a long day to arrive and were too tired to do anything so they offered us room service which was excellent. Breakfast could be brought to your room if you prefer which we did on our long tour day. Our suite was overlooking the grounds and quite light and pleasant. The grounds were extensive with a large garden where they grow vegetables and herbs for their restaurants. Easy walk into the nearby fishing village which was worth spending some time. And of course for your excursions to the beaches it’s in the middle of it all. And of course they had a great Michelin restaurant as well as a bistro. Perfect oasis for your Normandy visit.

A wonderful hotel in Normandy near the D Day beaches. We had a beautiful suite with a great view. Plenty of closet space. Also a lovely bathroom and great shower. The staff was very friendly. Terrific buffet breakfast. Two very different restaurants. I would highly recommend
