This was a memorable and fantastic stay in Cottage 5. The comfortable king bed in the air conditioned room had a private outdoor shower and your very own plunge pool. This was a very romantic getaway. The restaurant was lovely and full of island flavors, with a stunning view of the twinkling lights of Castries across the bay. The resort has stand up paddle boards as well as plenty of loungers and hammocks to relax in while listening to the waves. The staff were attentive and super friendly. We had a couples massage that was also quite relaxing. We highly recommend Calabash Cove if you are looking for a place to relax and get away from it all. It was tranquil and serene. A 10 out of 10 and looking forward to our next visit.

Beautiful, peaceful setting!
Lovely boutique hotel, quiet but with amenities like kayaks, and paddle boards. Perfect place for true unwinding. We stayed in beachfront cottage and it was wonderful - spacious, private, incredible setting with a private plunge pool and hammock! Great for watching sunsets!

From check in to check out the service was impeccable. Without exception, all of the staff were fantastic, really well trained and friendly too. Nothing was too much trouble. The views from anywhere on the property were exceptional. The gardens were a highlight, so well planted and looked after, simply a beautiful riot of colour. Rooms are big, bed was huge and comfortable. The small beach was perfect and never felt crowded. The pool had stunning views and the shaded swim up bar was great. We saw birds of prey and hummingbirds around the grounds. It was our first experience of fully inclusive, but everything was genuinely included, so no nasty surprises. This place definitely gets my 5/5. There are a few areas which could be considered for improvement; more options for shade around the pool area, a few of the wooden cabanas need their headboards and bases replacing, plus the lower area by the bar could take a couple of tables if they had shade, which would be useful when the lunch service by the pool is busy. The memory foam bed topper was too hot for me. But these are very minor points.

It’s always appropriate to show balance in reviewing a hotel, especially where there are many aspects to it that were enjoyable. We are a couple that save up each year to enjoy the treat of a 5-star hotel in a new destination, and the Calabash felt like the perfect way to experience St Lucia as it ticked so many boxes for a relaxing destination. It genuinely has so many lovely aspects like the amazing west-facing (sunset) views; the lovely pool including swim-up bar; the small but attractive beach; the option to use free water sports equipment such as kayaks and paddle boards; and the guaranteed availability of sun chairs.
However, it’s in the details where the Calabash confirms itself as a very nice hotel, but certainly not a five star one. I always dismiss reviews that give a hotel a lesser rating because the pillows weren’t fluffy enough or it took too long to check in. These things happen and are usually insignificant if the overall experience was positive. The issue with the Calabash is that there were just too many small details that hit the wrong note and combine to make the experience less than 5 stars.
The hotel room designs felt quite odd in that the jacuzzi and bathroom area sit a few steps above the main bedroom area, making the room feel unnecessarily cramped. To use the bathroom you also needed to turn on the full lighting for the entire bathroom area, which is not ideal when you have a sleeping partner in the middle of the night. Other slightly frustrating (and avoidable) aspects in the tired interior included all plug sockets being mystifyingly hidden behind large cabinets or other heavy furniture; a complete lack of sink space for toiletries (with the cabinets underneath the sink bizarrely sealed shut); low quality shampoo, conditioners and hand soaps bolted to the shower wall or the sink, with hotel labels clearly stuck over the manufacturers label; poor quality toilet paper; and a lack of any nice extras that you would normally expect as standard with a high quality hotel such as cotton buds, creams, hand towels, an iron / ironing board etc.
All of this is still not critical as its always important to appreciate that things can sometimes be done a little differently depending on where you are visiting. What felt more fundamental was the highly inconsistent service and quality of food, which we had assumed would be very high given that breakfast, lunch and dinner are served from the only restaurant every day (directly to your table with no buffet options). However, sometimes the service could be painfully slow and unfriendly at times (depending on who was serving) and the food (which was pricey) could vary from delicious to very average.
Breakfast in particular felt poor, with small details like the use of cheap packaged jam from Smucker’s not really giving you the feeling of being spoilt. On our first morning we were told that we would have to pay for pastries as we had requested them 5 mins after breakfast had finished for the day, this was 45 mins after we had arrived at our table and experienced very slow service. These types of exchanges leave a bad taste in the mouth when you are already spending so much to stay.
What saved the day was the service of some staff members such as Sarah, Teddy, Travis and Michelle (as well as a few others) who were very friendly and made you feel welcome. The small pool bar dining felt more inviting as an environment as it was more consistently friendly. It also really felt like the only bar at the hotel, as the side bar in the restaurant was tiny and closed at 10.30pm, reducing the opportunity to chat with some of the other hotel guests after dinner.
All in all, a perfectly nice hotel but with relatively small changes in approach could provide a much nicer stay and get closer to that five star rating.

We had a wonderful stay at Calabash Cove! We traveled with 4 couples and had a great time. We stayed in the beach side cottages and would highly recommend those. Woke up every morning to the sound of the waves and the gentle breezes. Had breakfast and coffee delivered to our cottage every morning. Took an afternoon dip in our private pool every afternoon. Had some wonderful dinners, and some not so good both on and off resort. Resort is very laid back and quiet, great for couples wanting to just relax without any commotion. Our only negative about the resort was the inconsistency in the food. Some days was great, others days they forgot food items, and/or cold. Our first night the dinner was ok, second time dinner was great. The service, albeit laid back casual, was very good and staff very very friendly. The weather was incredible every day. When we did venture off the resort, Newbie was our driver, and he was the best.
Overall, had a lovely stay and would highly recommend Calabash Cove.

My wife and I booked a trip to St Lucia on short notice for a long weekend getaway. While there were limited hotel options given the short notice, we found Calabash Cove on Trip Advisor and called them regarding room availability. We lucked out and stayed in one of their Waters Edge cottages (room #3) which is very close to the beach. Our view was incredible and we could hear the water washing up on the beach from our living room. The hotel pool is very nice with a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. The hotel staff are very friendly and the food was good. We would highly recommend Calabash Cove and staying in one of their Waters Edge cottages. It was the nicest room situation we have ever stayed in.

We had an amazing vacation at Calabash. The staff were fantastic & friendly. The resort is beautifully landscaped & maintained. We were initially in a sunset suite & then moved to a cottage. The cottage had a gorgeous view & we enjoyed the private pool & deck. Was very romantic! We loved that the resort was small so we never felt crowded at the main pool or on the beach. On our last night, we had a private dinner on the pier & the food & our server were outstanding. I would absolutely stay here again.

We recently had our winter sun vacation at Calabash Cove and we loved it, were there some things that could be improved a little, yes, but don't let this detract from what is haven in the St Lucian Rain Forest.
The hotel is beautifully situated on a steep hillside (isn't everywhere in St Lucia), so not ideal for people with mobility issues. The hotel is set in beautiful lush gardens and because of the low number of rooms feels really intimate. There is a small, but very adequate and beautiful beach.
The staff are an absolute delight, all of them, they all want to make sure you have the best timne when you are at their property. They are very friendly, professional and very engaging. they made our day most every day.
We asked for and were provided with a very special dinner for my wife's Birthday on the little jetty that juts into the Caribean sea, which was beautiful.
The rooms were spotlessly clean, ours was in the main building, they also have suites on the hillside. Ours was perfect for us, it had a huge jacuzi tub that we never used and a shower that whilst not the most modern we have seen was great all the same.
We ate at the hotel most nights of our stay because the situation was for us a peacefule haven. The food was good on every occasion. Don't expect very fine dining, it is not that. One of our requests of the hotel would be to add a little variation to the food by having 7 to 10 different specials menus, we were getting the same one after what seemed like only a few days.
The staff in the restaurant and the bar are a delight, always smiling and wanting to know you are having a good time.
In Summary, what we loved, our room, the situation, the gardens, the beach, the staff (all of them) and the cocktails.
Things that we think could step up our review from 4 to 5 stars, vary the daily food specials menu, provide cushions on the sunbeds at the beach, allow customers to pay in local currency by card rather than having to suffer a punative exchage rate imposed by the hotel to convert to USD.
We would highly recommend this hotel, with a little investment it could be an absolute gem.

My wife and I just returned from a fabulous week at Calabash Cove and St Lucia. Calabash Cove is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The views from anywhere on the site are incredible. First the staff is incredible. All ( grounds crew, housekeeping, bar keep, wait staff, management, concierge) greeting you with a smile, a heart felt greeting and a positive inquiry of how you were doing or what you had done last night. Their motto is to dial "0" and ask for service and they delivered every time.
With only 50+ guest you have a very private atmosphere. The beach is raked every morning and stocked with lounge chairs, open air covered sitting areas, kayaks, paddle boards, etc and we only had 6-10 other people on the beach with us at any time.
We had a cottage with a nice plunge pool and covered terrace. Cottage has a nice living room complete with two long shelfs of books to read. Nice bedroom and bath with an outdoor shower with a nice view of the ocean. A well designed cottage with a nice cozy feel.
The dining area is covered/open air and provides a grand vista over the entire property and spectacular view of the Caribbean. We had the Breakfast plan but they also have an all inclusive option. All meals were excellent and presented well. In addition to the full menu at each meal they also have a daily special for each meal. At dinner each night they have a musician playing. Each night was a different musician playing different instruments and types of music. The played in a soft manner as a very nice background to our meals. Made for a very special atmosphere.
A concierge was on duty at anytime we were at the lobby. Seemed like 24/7. They were fantastic for arranging tours, taxi, and dinner reservations in town.
Bottom line. True 5 star resort.

A small, exclusive, terraced resort with all rooms having balconies overlooking the stunning sunsets & sea views, within easy reach of both Castries and Rodney Bay in the North of St Lucia. Having its own sandy beach with free paddleboards, made it a peaceful haven away from the crowds and mass tourism.
Most hotel guests were on all-inclusive deals, though we were pleased that we had opted for B&B only, as the service in the restaurant was erratic and the evening meal disappointing in the quality of the food and pricey for what you get.
Coal Pot (predominantly fish) restaurant in Castries set on the waterfront of a sea inlet was probably the best meal we ate during our 9 day stay on the island. Jacques’ French restaurant suspended over Rodney Bay harbour can also be recommended especially after the 2hr ‘sunset cruise’ (including plenty of rum punch) which set us up for the evening!

My husband and I came to Calabash Cove for the first time to celebrated our 25th anniversary. We chose Calabash Cove because of the reviews on TripAdvisor and it more than lived up to our expectations. We requested Cottage 5 which is the only stand alone waterfront cottage. The rest are duplex style. It is incredible. Our own little paradise. We love the private plunge pool and outdoor shower. It’s steps to the beach. The restaurant is very good. We did not have a bad or mediocre meal. The staff go above and beyond and responded quickly to our request. We did the all day Bean to Bar tour which was great. Our only complaint is the mattress needs to be flipped over or replaced. It dipped us into the middle of the bed. The property and views are stunning. We will definitely be back someday.

It's quite remote is the only downside. You'll be looking at taxis to get to anywhere else on the island.

Ok. Where to start as we stayed two full weeks. I’ll start by pointing out it was full capacity both weeks. Most flights arrive Saturday afternoon so we took the helicopter over. Pretty cool. Luggage arrived about an hour later. We decided to take the CCR private black car service back (included for us) to kill time before the flight home.
1. It was great. We had what I think was the best cottage, privacy, quiet, beautiful views, comfortable, clean, easy access to everything. Outdoor shower was the best. Always hot water, gorgeous moon or sun. Plunge pool. Killer views and perpetual sound of crashing waves and bird songs all day. Mosquitoes were pretty much non existent but we did get little ankle bites, probably at the beach. Put it this way, many nights I watched tv in the cottage with all doors open and wind blowing through. I mean, that’s the heavenly stuff I’ll miss. It did rain mostly at night but anytime it did during the day, and it could come down, the trade winds would blow it out in minutes and the sun was back and everything dry minutes later.
2. We never left, except once to go to Keebee’s to watch a 1/4 of the superbowl (watched rest from the comfort of our cottage) and once to do a private, afternoon (sunset), catamaran. Which was pretty fun. I always rent a car to explore but chose not to this trip. Too many reviews about the two roads and traffic. It’s the only thing that stopped me. I bumped into others at the airport that stayed in resorts near us and they said the ride to dinner, leaving their resorts, was a couple hours each way. Huh? No thanks.
3. We ate every meal at the Windsong restaurant. Breakfasts were great (mostly did room service), lunches were ok, dinners mostly great. We ate most dinners in the restaurant and a couple on the cottage deck. We did the all inclusive. Never needed a reservation. Always a table open and usually the front row. A couple times we’d wait at the bar no more than 10 minutes for one to open. At their suggestion. We would have gone second row.
4. Regarding the AI. I was worried about hours open, did we have snacks etc. Not only was the food plentiful, we were skipping meals by day 3. It wasn’t doable to have the awesome eggs Benedict in the morning, lunch a few hours later and dinner day after day. While consuming crazy amounts of booze 🤣 which we slowed way down as well. Under the AI we had choice of 750 ml bottles in the room in addition to the mini bar with beers and sodas and juices. The wife loves cosmos so they went and found Cointreau to swap in. Swapped in Tito’s for the stoli’s etc. So, you can see you can be perpetually consuming 🫠 should you choose. We also didn’t realize for a couple days, the daily specials published at noon can be lunch as well, room served or restaurant. Meaning, the dinner lobster special can be ordered for lunch etc. We thought it was just for dinner specials. Every meal delivered to the room took about 40 minutes on average. Not bad and expected so we’d order accordingly. Meals in the restaurant took about the same. For anyone to complain is nuts. These people and this place drains you of stress and anxiety from minute 1 so just relax mahn! 😀 You’re on vacation! In the end, the AI was a better deal for the resort than us because they just give you so much of everything you can’t ask for more. I mean you can. But physically, we couldn’t. Unconditional all inclusive is an understatement. For anyone that wins with the AI, god bless you and your waist size! All that said, I’m not sure we’d change it. The unconditional and not carrying money was best ever, though this was out first trying AI. And remember, we’d planned to not leave the resort too making the decision easy. And for dress, I brought a few pairs of chinos and glad I did. I struggled with this too. Did they really want me wearing “trousers” every night! I didn’t want to pack pants and nice shoes. But glad I did. Couple linen shirts or polos to finish it off, slip on shoes. I felt better. I saw others in shorts and not sure our experience in comfort was different. It was warm but the trade winds are constant. I just felt better because I know this is important to the resort because they aren’t just a restaurant for us, but the whole island and it does feel upscale to what we saw for the restaurants in Castries and Rodney etc. So, can you wear shorts? Sure. To the British review somewhere over the years calling out Americans for being uncouth, darling, it was your majesty’s finest this trip coming up in shorts and untucked. I represented us dastardly cads from ‘merica well 😀. Just saying.
5. Staff. Oh boy. Everyone to a person was magnificent. I have all the names written down. But I also don’t need to reference as I remember them all easily. After 2 weeks, we felt pretty close to many and had lots of laughs and genuine conversations about us, them, the island, our home, their home and more. I was invited out with them a few times to hang out but declined because it was mostly towards the end of our trip. Had I been there 3 weeks? Oh boy would I have lol. One of the ”local” happenings seemed super interesting and fun, no tourists. Maybe next time Leonis. 😉
We’ve been to many island vacations around the world. Hands down, the St Lucia folks are the most genuine and sincere in their happiness and warmth. It’s a testament to their way of life. Which outside the resort is tough. But they are hands down the best we’ve experienced. The room service crew was great. The cleaning staff great. Bartenders great. Maintenance and pool staff great. Landscapers great. Restaurant great. Front desk great. Everyone was great!
6. Tipping. Oh boy I wrestled with this a lot. Don’t see a lot about it. Unconditional all inclusive is not a joke. There are 10% vat charges and 13% service already built in. I was concerned about not tipping room service, at dinner, room service clean up and more. But management made sure I didn’t worry. Promoted the unconditional to us again. Said the staff are pros and they’ve been doing this 16 years. So we tipped the room cleaner every day. We tipped the luggage down and up. We tipped for the massages. We’d tip for something out of the ordinary (like finding us the special ask Cointreau) but that was it. We got comfortable soon and no one EVER treated us differently. We would have easily paid hundreds more in tips because these people are all over you to help on anything you could ever want or need at anytime of the day or night. The unconditional all inclusive was pretty amazing to say for a second time, we don’t regret doing it.
7. Beach and pool. Two weeks. I didn’t go in the pool once. Not because of anything wrong with it. It looked as good as the pictures. We spent most of our time at the beach but also the cottage. I had my own plunge pool! The few times I’d walk by the pool, there was hardly anyone in it. The most I saw was 6 people in, usually sitting on the in pool bar stools. The people were mostly older and from across the pond, but also saw a few younger couples. Now the beach. Hmmm. I saw another post about the chairs. I hate to say it, but this was a “bad” couple weeks for selfishness. Meaning, by 8-9 am, there were towels and books blocking the limited beach bungalows. 4 on the left, 3 on the right. These same people would saunter down around 10, leave for a 2 hour lunch with their stuff still reserving the spot. Too bad being such a small place with so many places to hang out. Room, pool, tucked away chairs and hammocks. I just wish they’d have had some empathy for others. Like your other 26 rooms of people. Not 100. You had the beach chairs for hours. Some of you day after day. Just share and give them up here and there for someone else to have the experience. You know who you are if you’re reading this. Shame on you all! I did notice something else you don’t see in the pictures. All the grass chairs, with blue umbrellas were jammed all day too. However, as much as I wag the finger, these selfish people didn’t bother us. We had the beach time we needed (mostly empty by 2-3 pm), and we had our private plunge pool. I did notice all the “good” pool side chairs were occupied too pretty quickly. Again, busy time of year, full capacity. Just saying all this because many posts make it sound like at full capacity, you see tumbleweeds blowing by and no one around. All that said, we still hardly saw nor bumped into anyone so at full capacity, it’s still intimate. And I’m sure people were off doing outside resort activities too. Just can’t dodge those beach chair nuts. I guess they’re just programmed to take take take.
8. I can go on. Just trying to cover things I was thinking of prior to arriving. Hope this helps others. It’s a wonderful place. I can see us grabbing a few couples of friends and renting out a bunch of rooms. I can easily see us going back as many others have done. I can see easily renting the whole place for a wedding or something. If I can be in a place this small, with hardly leaving, for 2 full weeks without going nuts, then to me, it’s pretty awesome. I was soooooooo stressed free and relaxed in hours. (I should add I literally retired at 58 from my career the day before we arrived and this was just what the doctor ordered for kicking it off with some immediate separation in a great headspace).
Thank you Calabash Cove staff. You’re as awesome as the reviews say. I’ll end this way, if people reading the reviews see anything negative, I’ll bet its more about the person doing the review. Just saying. Like the recent post whining about kids. Remember the beaches are public and yes, you can get a couple local families, usually after 4 pm and maybe a couple more on weekend days. But cmon. Complaining about a couple little kids? Meanie! The resort even has them stay down the beach in “their own spot” away from the prestigious ninnies.
Cheers to Calabash! Thanks Konrad. Wish we saw you but never got the chance. I was watching the sunsets each of your Monday get togethers. Next time! 🙃
Here are some of those pictures! Enjoy ☺️

Anyone wanting complete relaxation in an extremely well laid out small high quality resort should look no further. Excellent friendly service from all the staff. Nothing too much trouble. The food was all of high quality and very well presented and tasty. Premium drinks were a plus. We went all inclusive which made it very easy although you do have to sign rather than just wear a wristband which would have made it easier. The views were outstanding particularly from the restaurant and bar areas and the small beach very clean. Anyone with mobility issues may struggle as there are quite a few steps and no lifts.

It’s is NOT an Adults Only hotel despite the declaration on all its literature & tourist adverts! We are currently staying here specifically because we want a quiet holiday & are dismayed to find that the management allow non-resident children to come into the restaurant & use the beach along with their resulting cries. We are grandparents, if we had wanted children around we would have brought our own grandchildren. Beware, if you want peace & quiet away from the kids do not book this hotel.

The restaurant has a lovely view. The food was okay.
Beach chairs were unavailable in the morning due to guests placing their belongings on their chairs and not returning until hours later. Need additional chairs.
The drive from the international airport was about 2 hours and the hotel is remote. If you want to go outside of the grounds, Calabash will arrange for a taxi at a cost.

Good food with changing daily specials tho service quite slow, especially at breakfast ,but hey this is the Carribeaan. Low key live music over dinner.
There were plenty of trips to book at reception, but be warned the roads are not for the faint hearted - hilly, very windy, lots of pot holes and traffic.

This hotel is incredible. Fantastic people, the food is incredible and as the endless amounts of British people here say “very posh”. The views are amazing and the hotel is spotless. Cannot recommend it enough. Do yourself a favor and get a room here you won’t regret it
Quiet, clean, and amazing food!
We stayed in cottage 2 and the views were incredible and the bed was comfortable. The cottage porch offers a great place to watch the sea turtles swim by.
If you get the opportunity go snorkeling and skip Rodney Bay shopping.
A great holiday at Calabash Cove
The hotel is lovely, in a beautiful location. If you like a small hotel (only 26 rooms) it will suit you, if you need or want somewhere busy then not. But it is made so special by the people working there. Service is special at every part of the hotel.
Beautiful location for a chilled out holiday
A beautifully secluded small resort with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The staff are brilliant. Lovely food. A short taxi ride into Rodney Bay. Has its own beach and infinity pool. All rooms have fantastic view of the sea. It’s one of the those places where you will...

Amazing honeymoon experience
Best staff ever. Cant say enough about how caring and attentive they all were. Beautiful hotel and location. Beach is pristine and wonderful. Food exceeded expectations and was very very tasty. Everything was nearly perfect. Can’t wait to return.
Fantastic views, flavours, and experiences. Smiles abundant at Calabash Cove.
Our 5 night stay at Calabash Cove Resort & Spa was perfect in so many ways. We enjoyed the convenience of staying in a lovely poolside suite for the first 3 nights & spent our final 2 nights in Cabin 5. Totally private and breathtaking. Wonderful staff and management. Terrific...
Terrific cuisine, though the vegetarian options should be expanded. Only downfall for us was the amount of stairs you had to climb & descend no matter where you went on the property. Our arthritic knees were under duress at times, but it was oh-so worth it.
