We spent our honeymoon at Botania Relais & Spa this summer. The service was exceptional and the facilities were stunning, relaxing, and exactly what we needed to recover from a busy few weeks. Claudia in particular was amazing – we arrived at Botania without any plans to experience the island, and by the first afternoon of our trip, she had helped us plan a whole itinerary down to the restaurant reservations. Additionally, we loved the bar at La Grotta and enjoyed many an aperitivo and nightcap made by Onofrio.

Best hotel and Staff on Ischia!

What a wonderful Relais. From the moment we arrived at this oasis of calm and tranquility we felt incredibly welcomed by a team of warm smiling staff. We were effortlessly checked in and then driven by golf buggy around the resort to orientate us and then shown to our accomodation. Our room was beautifully presented with gorgeous amenities and welcome message and gifts. The resort offers a wide range of options for relaxation starting with indoor plunge pools, day spa facilities, 2 outdoor thermal pools and culminating in a half Olympic sized main pool. There are a number of dining options starting with an incredible breakfast selection, various lunch and dinner options featuring typically authentic local dishes. The Relais has a strong emphasis on sustainability with this flowing through to a zero kilometre dining experience in their vegetarian restaurant and a lot of produce grown on site. But what made this property exceptional was the staff. Our guest relations manager, Claudia arranged spa treatments, shuttles to nearby attractions, making it a truly stress free experience as guests. Restaurant manager Nico supported by the smiling and efficient Viviana made each of our restaurant visits an occasion to remember. And the spa treatments provided by Davide and Alessandra were wonderful. This is all packaged up in the most beautifully presented and manicure gardens that hide you away from the outside world. Be under no illusion, this is an expensive property to stay at, but we can attest to its value for money when you consider the various value adds on offer. If at all possible we will return.

My husband and I could not have been happier with our stay…we wished we could have stayed longer. This was the end destination of our vacation and it was a wonderful place to recharge before heading back home! From the second you enter the reception area, you will be happy with your choice of staying here. The grounds are beautiful and so well kept. Our room was beautiful and had many amenities to make our stay very comfortable. The pool area was a wonderful area to relax. And last but not least, the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you truly have a wonderful stay. In particular, Claudia works so hard to make sure you are making the most out of your stay. She will help plan your daily schedule to fit your needs…do as little or as much as you want! We also really enjoyed our meals during our stay, so much so, that we decided to take advantage of the restaurants on the premise! Onofrio was one of the bartender/servers who really made our stay great….we enjoyed live music outside the cave bar one evening, Onofrio and his colleagues made for a wonderful evening for us, with their top notch service. The spa is a wonderful place to relax at, so be sure to use it too! The staff there as well could not have been more accommodating! Stay here, you will not be disappointed!

We had a great time at Botania. All the staff were so friendly and the accomodation was very wide and clean with typical tiles in South Italy. We enjoyed yoga in the garden every day. Luisa, a yoga instructor, were kind to us, who were beginners. Breakfast was more farbulous than I expected. Please try an omlette with aromatic herbs! Cluadia, a gues relation staff, helped us with everything not only during our stay but also before our stay. Next year I'll be back to Ischia, and Botania!

We had a fantastic week at this lovely hotel. The whole experience made it one of our favourite hotels and we truly hope to be able to go back soon. The hotel is kept in immaculate condition, the deluxe room we had was large and light. Air con was very good. Free water & soft drinks in the mini bar each day. They run a shuttle into Forio which is great for the outbound but ended too early to get the one back later in the night so the taxi ride is 30 euros each way. We chose to eat out each evening as there are plenty of restaurants to choose from; Saturnino and Auris being our favourites. Pool was lovely, if a little warm. With only 40 rooms, most people didn't put towels down (thank god) so getting a bed was never a problem.

We stayed at the Botania for a week in June, and absolutely loved it. As garden lovers, we particularly enjoyed the hotel’s garden theme and discovering all the peaceful green spaces, terraces, and kitchen gardens which were all immaculately kept. The hotel is very comfortable with plenty of cushioned sun loungers around the pool and high-quality comfy outdoor sofas and chairs everywhere - it was never a problem to find somewhere peaceful to sit and relax. We didn’t try the Michelin-starred Il Mirto because the food in the main Il Corbezzolo restaurant was so good. It would have been nice to see a few more non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails on the menus though. The standard of service from all staff was outstanding, from the moment we arrived to our departure, and everyone seemed to be fluent in English. The concierge lady was particularly helpful, letting us know of a festival in nearby Forio and recommending restaurants there which she reserved for us. The hotel is located on a busy main road with no pavement, so we made the most of the free hotel minibus which you can reserve to shuttle you to and from the 2 nearest towns in either direction (Lacco Ameno and Forio) and anywhere en route, including the Mortella gardens and Negombo water park and beach. Our room 186 had a wonderful sea view and was a generous size with plenty of clothes storage, and had a huge marble bathroom with double sinks. We made use of our outside terrace and sofa too. Overall we came home having felt we’d had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

An absolutely stunning holiday. What a fabulous hotel. It was recommended by our fantastic tour operator Antonio at Expertoitaly. What a find. It was like being in the enchanted garden, so beautiful. We have stayed at many lovely hotels, but the service at this hotel was outstanding. If felt quite intimate without being intrusive. All the veggies served at the hotel are grown there. It is very special. There was attention to detail in everything. The rooms were spacious and clean and all had a wonderul size terrace.

I don't think the pictures did it justice. I wish we had stayed longer. You need at least one full day to enjoy the hotel itself (they have some lovely hot tubs on the hills to sit and watch the view, and the gardens around it are so lovely) and then another full day to enjoy the Negombo Thermal gardens a few minutes away. And then probably another full day to enjoy Ischia/Forio. Make sure to check out the bar in the cave at night, it's small but just such a cool experience. And their bartender was so incredibly sweet. A really great stay.
