Cute but needs some TLC

Very pretty home. Decor doesn't fit the charming home. It looks cheap and like they just put in there whatever they could find. Need to find some pieces that match the genre of the home. Our room was very drab. Make sure to get a room with its own bathroom...

Historical and memorable!

Historical! You feel like you’re stepping back into history when you stay here! Love all the little elements that have been left untouched like door handles etc. The bed was very comfortable. I wished there was a heavier blanket. Even as an option in the closet! Our bathroom was unattached...

Mansion style stay

The rooms were very spacious, bed comfortable, the ability to enjoy an old style home with decor that matched but was not over done. Tons of things to within walking distance! Huge claw foot tub. Free breakfast at 9am. I had very little interaction with staff including check in, I...

Not the same

We have stayed here several times for our anniversary. It has always been wonderful but this time it was a bit disappointing. The sheets were clean but the blankets did not smell clean at all. The bathroom was not clean either. Yes, we realize everything is old, but the tub...

Pleasant experience

We stayed in #8 cottage. Texting instructions were great. We got in late so just having a code to get into the room was helpful. Has a mini fridge/freezer. Has a Keurig machine and mugs. Plenty more nice things to say, but I gotta go & you have to experience...

A lackluster place

• Shower: a curtain in a clawfoot tub. The curtain clung to you. • Bed: sharp-cornered base caused a good-sized bruise. • Curtains: Opening one caused the curtain to fall to the floor. • Bathroom: Nowhere to set anything down. • Temperature: cold. Inoperative radiators , inadequate small electric floor...

A nice place with some quirks and drawbacks

We had a 3 day, 2 night staycation in Coeur d’Alene and decided the Blackwell Hotel would be a unique experience. Overall, we had a good stay but there were a couple drawbacks that ended up really affecting our enjoyment during our stay. The Good • Staff was great. 100%...

Lovely Victorian Home!

Our second visit to this lovely Victorian bed and breakfast. We stayed in room 8 in the carriage house. It was a lovely, comfortable room. Only downside were the hedges that completely blocked out the window We appreciated the great shower and cute little refrigerator. The main house is just...

Fun night in CDA for a friends birthday

Six couples rented rooms for a friend's birthday. Check-in process was easy and it was fun to see everyone's different rooms. We had room #4. The house could use a bit of TLC as others have mentioned, but nothing that ruined our stay. There is plenty of space for everyone...

Comfort!

The beds were very comfortable and soft! Rooms are spacious. Love the historic B&B's. Easy walk to lots of shops and restaurants. Breakfast was very good. The gas fire pit wasn't working which would have been nice. Quiet. Carriage house rooms take a lot of time to warm up.

Great experience

Great hotel. Super soft beds. Jennifer who helps coordinate the rooms and weddings was amazing. Super helpful, great ideas of things to do around CDA, and she was overall awesome. Will definitely stay here again. Planning on having my wedding here in October 2024 and super excited.

Not 5 Star, but a Good Say at Blackwell

This review could be very long, so I think I will do a + and - list instead. Keep in mind we stayed in Room 3 in the main mansion at the rear of the house on floor 2. Here goes: Pros (+): Location is walkable to downtown. Price per...

Overall the Blackwell Hotel was a nice experience, a very area of improvement would make it delightful….

The Blackwell house was beautiful but did lack charm. The grounds from a distance were well kept but looking closer did need some work - the dryer vent from the basement was a fire hazard, dead shrubs and the front door was locked and not welcoming. The ground floor could...
