Seriously good, will come back

It's like stepping into a postcard. Located below the main walkway in Fira, we missed the entrance at first - Fira is hard to navigate on GPS. Inside, the hotel is a maze ... we still sometimes took the wrong way after 3 days. But facilities, view, quality, peace, cleaning and staff are all top notch. If something is off, it's fixed immediately. Our wifi was down at one point, and the fix-it-guy arrived back at the room before I did. Reception is also super friendly and have many connections in town for discounts / better tables / etc. and many travel tips as well. It has a kitchen for good and varied breakfast and simple meals, and a well stocked bar ... Christos the Bartender (one of many staff highlights) make solid drinks and good honest conversation. Cell phone coverage is low at the hotel due to the location below the main street and inside the caldera itself - but wifi is fine. And the location means you rarely hear the town, even though it's a few stairs away (Fira has many stairs, you'll come home with good legs). Cruise ships are heard with their shipwide speaker announcements, but not on an annoying level. And if it's windy, some of the balconys have noisy sunshades. But the style, the cleanling standard, the location, the staff and the view means we're definately coming back.

We spent an amazing week in Santorini staying at the Belvedere Suites just outside Fira. The hotel is well situated to walk to the town centre in 15 minutes or so, and in a nice, quieter location with lots of restaurants and a few shops close by. Be prepared for lots of hilly steps when walking around the area. We opted for a superior double room when booking so that we would have views of the caldera and we weren't disappointed! Our room (108) was very well appointed with everything you'd need, nicely decorated and the aircon was wonderful. If there was one little gripe it would be that six coathangers is not really enough. All the staff were fabulous - Faidra in reservations prior to our arrival, the two Chris's and Marina in reception, Dritan (Dani) at breakfast/pool bar and Christos the barman who makes an amazing Aegean Spritz (thank you for giving me the precise recipe!). Also all the other staff who were polite and friendly throughout our stay, including the bellboy who ferried our cases to and from the drop off/pick up point in the Church of Agios Gerasimos Square. The a la carte breakfast is excellent so long as you are explicit and clear with what you want on the paper-based ordering system. We found that we could eat enough at breakfast to skip lunch some days if we wanted to. The sunbeds and pool and bar area were always clean and well maintained and a perfect spot for relaxing and soaking up the wonderful views. We had booked a couple of excursions in advance via Trip Advisor - wine tasting with Oia sunset and a catamaran cruise - which we really enjoyed. Chris in reception recommended and arranged Luigi's Tours for a half day private excursion (cost of 70 euros per hour) to see the other parts of the island we were keen to see: Pyrgos; Megalochori; Profitis Ilias Monastery; museum of prehistoric city Akrotiri. Luigi (nickname because his real name is difficult to pronounce) is a friendly young man and a very knowledgable tour guide. We would definitely recommend him to others. Chris also gave us some pointers to good local restaurants, 'No Name' being our favourite of these. Overall, this was a fabulous holiday and if we ever come back to Santorini we will definitely stay at Belvedere Suites again.

Amazing hotel and location. Stayed here for a week and had the best time. This hotel is in a perfect location to benefit from the amazing views, but on a quieter stretch away from the busy centre. But the centre is easy to walk to within 15 mins. As lots of other reviews have said don’t stay here if you don’t like steps! Tonnes of nice restaurants nearby. Rooms were fantastic, we did upgrade to guarantee a caldera sea view but it was well worth it. Breakfast and pool side food during the day also excellent. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. Definitely do the catamaran sunset cruise it is brilliant, but personally would avoid Oia at sunset - whilst a very pretty village it is sadly overridden with tourists making it a stressful experience navigating your way through the crowds of tourists in very narrow streets, all searching for that perfect Instagram photo opportunity! Overall love Santorini and this hotel would definitely come back here.

5/5 We stayed at Belvedere Suites April 2024 for 4 nights. What a perfect hotel. The location is close to Fira but without the crowds. The staff was amazing! Especially the 2 Chris' and Marina. The room had spectacular views of the sunset. No need to find a spot to view this on the seawalk, it is right there in your room. We had a fantastic breakfast everyday in our room, catered to our tastes. The famous blue dome photo can be taken 2 minutes from the hotel. We had room 107 it was perfect.

I genuinely don't often leave reviews but this hotel was magic. As soon as we arrived, someone was there to take our luggage to the hotel and we met Marina who was the loveliest person - she showed us where to go on the island and recommended restaurants for us to go to (shout out to no name grill!) we straight away saw those views too and just wow. Best views on the island! We had a room with no view, which essentially means a cave... So be warned on that.. But we spent most time outside at the pool bar or exploring and when we booked, we were told there would be no view, so I can't be mad! What made the hotel was the people though. Dritan, Bianca, Fabian and Christoph were all fabulous and made us feel at home and relaxed. Thank you guys. The breakfast is a tick sheet where you essentially create your own, but all food is well cooked and kept us full for the day. Nothing to write home about, but nice. Cocktails at the bar were delicious and relatively reasonably priced for santorini. Averaging €12 (saw some cocktails in Fira for €24!) Location of the hotel was fantastic. Being such a busy island and in a central location, I was amazed noone could see you sunbathing and it was a quiet haven. But as soon as you left you were into the chaos. Loads of restaurants and bars nearby, plus a short downhill walk to Fira. Hotel cleanliness was good - maid came everyday to make the bed, change towels, empty bins and freshen up. Pool area also good - lovely quality beds and towels are provided. We went low season when not too many people are around, so easy to get a bed when needed. Lots of stairs at the hotel if not already obvious - it is built into a cliffside- but if this is no good for you, then unfortunately don't think this side of santorini is going to be! Overall a fantastic hotel. We were lucky to have picked it as I couldn't have wished for better. I went with the stress of the world on my shoulders and left feeling rejuvenated. Would 100% recommend.

Magnificent view! Perfect location! There is a man at the pool(and breakfast) named Dani (Dritan) is VERY helpful and always positive and polite House keeping is professional! Bellboy that took care of us was very sweet ( I am very sorry that I didn’t get his name) There are two things that the management has to work on: The breakfast is complete joke. When you order a second cappuccino you have to pay for it!There is no buffet table you order from a list. They bring you three little 2x2 cubes of cheese, 4 cherry tomatoes and 5-6 slices of cucumber… which is absurd.Overall the hotel is nice, if they fix the problem with the breakfast. The other one is that the washing machine was soooo loud and it wasn’t balance well that the whole night and morning you hear the banging. Santorini is so beautiful and breathtaking piece of paradise, worth a visit

We were upgraded to a VIP suite room 125( 2 floors). Lovely views but the room was badly lit downstairs, had to use a torch to see in wardrobe and the tea /coffee making area. The swimming pool was immediately above us and we found the plant room a little noisy, but got used to it! The room seemed to get damp in the evenings so much so the bed sheets felt damp. As others have mentioned the pool is freezing, the sea was much warmer. Breakfast was ample but repetitive and confusing as you had to do a tick sheet which always was 'hit and miss' to whether you got your ticked items. Very pleasant staff , rooms cleaned every day. The male receptionist who greeted us upon arrival was fabulous, gave us some really useful tips on where to visit, however the same cannot be said about the female receptionist on our last day. Her customer relations and attitude need improving. Unfortunately I was ill on the last day and had asked if we could extend our room as we had a very late flight home, we were charged 120 Euros for a 6pm check out which I felt was excessive and not very understanding. Lots and lots of steps, beware they get slippery in the mornings & evenings, maybe the time of year. Ideal location, 10 minute walk into Fira. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Nice break and saw a lot more of the island using a hire car. Wouldn't go in high season as its so crowded .

Special anniversary holiday
Fabulous views of the sea and sunset. Great breakfast and lovely pool area. Perfect for couples. Must visit Oia and do a boat trip. We loved Santorini and would definitely go back. Special place, especially for couples.
Great view of sea but rooms not as described
Celebrating our anniversary but this place certainly did not meet expectations. Tui website show the best rooms overlooking sea. However the room we got felt like it was in the basement. No external window and only described as “double”. We stayed in room 116 and it was disappointing. Asked reception...

Not available even though it’s the “end of season” being October. Will definitely not stay here again.

The Hotel overall is excellent, room was very good and had a beautiful sea view. The hotel is well positioned on the Caldera, 10-15 min walk down to Fira, you can either walk roadway from village square or walk along the pathways and enjoy views of caldera and lovely buildings. Room was cleaned every day and towels replaced. You do not need to bring beach towels as hotel have them to borrow for pool side or you can pay 10 euro deposit to take to beach. Reception staff were helpful and the room maid was lovely and friendly. Bar staff are great and one lady has a lovely manner and a wicked cheeky laugh 😂 really lovely. Breakfast was great for me but wife was restricted due to food intolerance, limited gluten, milk and egg free options. Ran out of gluten free corn flakes after first day of holiday so breakfast for wife was not great. Overall this is an excellent hotel, pool area is lovely with really comfortable sun beds all with parasols, not sure whether time of year but didn’t have the usual sun bed towels left all day battle like some resorts. I would highly recommend this hotel for accommodation, location, pool, staff and sunsets ❤️ ☀️☀️Thank you for a wonderful week that made our 30th anniversary special

The views are absolutely amazing and that's what gives it a 4 stars. The reception staff are all miserable and rude especially the manager in reception. We complained about our room as nothing like the room on our jet2 booking photos and the manager tried to tell us that's jet2s fault and we've got the room we paid for. She didn't care at all. She said we can have a refund and go elsewhere. This was the 1st day of our honeymoon. We did get moved but it was hard work and very upsetting. The room we moved to, still had broken toilet seat and on balcony the drainpipe was broken and dirty water running across balcony. The cleaning lady was very nice and did mop balcony every morning and clean our room daily. The pool bar staff are all friendly and helpful. The food on day menu was good and the cocktails and drinks were good. However the breakfast was not so good. Breakfast, yo had to tick what you wanted on menu. The food came out altogether. The fried eggs & scrambled eggs were always like warm. The tea & coffee luke warm. The Orange juice wasn't even fresh it was like squash. The milk for cereals was warm. You had to eat the eggs before the cereal because they were already cold. It's a shame they can't sort out a simple breakfast as it would make all the difference. The breakfast pool bar staff are all very nice. One last thing is the maintenance staff all looked so fed up. They never said morning or smiled once.

An amazing experience at this splendid hotel. The views from our balcony and the pool/bar area were of the brilliant blue Aegean Sea, & the Volcano straight ahead & of Oia & Imerovigli to the right. Watch An amazing sun set every evening from the best views @ Belvedere Suites! Hotel is of walking distance into Fira - 15 mins & Imerovigli by a coastal path - you need to be active & fit as hundreds of steps as Santorini on a hillside. 5* breakfast, cocktails & cleanliness. Sun beds as comfy as your bed! Staff very professional & friendly- big shout out to Maria! Hired a quad bike to tour the island (check prices &barta). Great quite beach @ Vlichada with beach bar- shoes recommended as all beaches are stoney/rocky in sea. Visited old Greek village of Akrotiri- well worth a visit. All restaurants we ate at in Firofestani & Fira were excellent. Ate the best Red Snapper @ Galini Restaurant on the beach nr the airport. All in all a 5* holiday from us- thank you to Jet2! 🤩

Lots of breakfast choices and the food was very tasty, especially the Greek scrambled eggs. There are lots of eating places nearby. It can get very busy when the cruise ships come in but this didn’t bother us. Thira is just a 15 min walk away. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Nikoletta in reception, Dimitri and Saavas who brought our breakfast each day with a smile and Peña our Cleaner. We hope to return one day.
